Diary of a call girl.

I keep seeing the ads on cable & I saw the star of show last night saying how it all came about based on an escort's blog.

She said she did interview her as well.

I got to see the first season online and I've been waiting for season 2, which probably won't be out for a long time now... But I loved it. If I had Showtime, I'd watch the repeats.

I already watched all the episodes online and enjoyed it quite a bit! But I think I'm gonna add Showtime to my satellite package so I can see it again in HD and catch the next season of DEXTER.

Once more providers here have had a chance to see an episode or two, I'm interested in how their experience compares with the show, or how "realistic" certain situations and characters might be.

My opinion so far is that it's much friendlier to escorting than anything I've seen. It neither glamorizes nor uglifies the business, but shows both sides. And Belle is a well-rounded character, who's a fun character and caring -- but deeply flawed in a few ways as well.

I agree, that I've seen the Fall British first season on line (which is the same first season, upcoming on Showtime - and found it entertaining and reasonably accurate.

Some Ladies on our sites - not only got a couple of advance copies of episodes, but were asked to comment on realism - and adjustments made accordingly (to many, but, not all obvious items).

There is an 3 bullet commentary from each of four Ladies, in the May/June issue of Radar magazine. Again, some known Ladies on our sites. I was told - some answers were "tailored" to what they, the producers or article writer, wanted to hear.

My quotes in Radar were how I expressed them and weren't tailored at all. (yep I'm the 400 buck an hour jenny on page 32..ha!)

I've since seen the entire season and though it starts off slow and questionable as to accuracy it does get better and a tad more true to a real escorts life. It's a scripted TV show not a documentary, its supposed to be entertainment not fact.

Also it was based on the blog "Belle de Jour" which there are still questions about. It was an anonymous escort blog turned into a book but it hasnt been determined if it was really written by a working escort or not. I read it and there is knowledge there but many things just don't add up.

So the  mystery still exists!

The show is based on the experiences of an English escort. There are no laws against the private, consensual exchange of money for sexual services by adults in Great Britain.  Escorts who arrange to see clients either incall or outcall through the internet or by phone are not violating any laws. There are laws against publc solicitation, kerb crawling, and directly earning money from a person who is providing sexual services (being a pimp or operating a brothel).

The legal situation creates a different climate for sex work in the UK that is different from the US. On the other hand, the British middle class is just as hypocritical about sexuality as the American middle class.
