Just a question, how many years or even decades before common sense sanity prevails and allow for at least some degree of conseual sex involving money be legal?Personally,I see it as a state-by-state thing where some areas of the US become fully legal, partially legal, decriminalized and still some areas where it remains a crime that you could go to jail for.30 yrs down the road I see this evolving in that way.

religious hats and put common sense hats....

Legalization of prostitution and marijuana can save states tons of money spent on prosecution and add tons of money in terms of revenue as federal govt and states can collect various taxes..

Who would have thought at the passage of Civil Rights Act in the 60s that we would one day have a Black President. But today we have one.

I understand that these are two different topics and can be debated on their own merits, but at the heart of the issue there is common theme - theme of "change". We are a big nation, a very diverse nation. I fully believe that the change can happen if we start with states.

2 States have already legalized pot... Probably a few more during 2014 elections..

9 States and The District of Columbia have legalized gay marriages and the Hopefully DOMA will be overturned soon too.  A day is not far when gays and lesbians in all 50 states will enjoy the same that rest of us heterosexual people take for granted.

It sure can happen - BIB.. It sure can.. You just gotta believe brotha..

Not in a legal sense but more in a de facto sense. Now I am certainly not talking about SW, that's totally different. But high escorts who follow "the rules" re: verification, LE is very rarely a concern. Many large cities have had massive cut backs and vice tends to allocate its resources to under age/child traficking (which it should) and allocate less for the TER side of p4p. LE is looking for trouble makers essentially. As the younger generation fill posts left by older legislators, I think you will see a gradual shift over the next decade towards letting people who want to fk each other for $ do so as long as they keep it bcd.

Adding to this, because there is a degree of sexism in society-"that if men do it,they're playboys..if women do it,they're whores"-that women who engage in this activity are looked at in a far more stigmatized way.So when it comes to prostitution, women are helpless victims or hopeless addicts, maybe even both.No wonder there are people out there that want to have this still be a crime.

Virtually all of them. Again for the third time, I specifically said "not in a legal sense". Let me explain further since you are drinking or sick or something. It is NOT written in the law. Per larger, liberally run cities, word has spread to back off of high end prostitution. That doesn't mean we don't take the necessary steps to verify for there are elections and a good bust once in awhile makes a pol look good, I guess. Some of this is due to financial constraints and some of it is due to liberal mayors in big cities who bcd don't think it's that big a deal.

I think women are split on this issue but most wouldn't think of prostitution as any form of advancement to equality. Those women who oppose prostitution look at the abuse that is suffered by women and men who get away with it,financially and otherwise.

I don't think there would be much difference in the actual percentage of busts from today's state of high end p4p than if the "crime" was truly decriminalized legally. In the high end world for ladies that screen properly I would hazard to guess her getting through any single session without getting busted would be 99.99% or higher. Lol. So, in effect, that is de facto decriminalization.

there is a belief that legalizing prostitution might inadvertently interfere with the crackdown on sex trafficking, feminists in general aren't going to warm up universally to the idea of legalizing prostitution back here in the U.S. Now some feminists take the position that legalizing it may do the opposite and decrease sex trafficking by taking the profit out of it but I don't think it's a raging majority out there.

No atter how legal or decriminalized it becomes that will not stop the world from judging one way or the other.

Decriminalization it just no longer is a crime and we dont need to worry about getting busted.

How much of the rate charged by your escort goes to her keeping safe and staying out of the way of bust-happy LEOs and other such intrusion? Price depends both on the the Supply Curve and the Demand Curve, same as in any business. If more women entered the industry upon abatement of legal hassles, their rates would still depend on expenses. Hotels might give the ladies more breaks and flexibility were they not under pressure to 'clean up' their customer base. But preparation time, towels, soap, candles, all the elements of a quality experience, they will cost the same.

There are those who call BS on disclaimers. But if the terms of the session were exactly as most disclaimers are worded, everybody should be happy with the way business is transacted because the conditions of consent are all being met. If the lady can refuse a gent's desire for any reason, then there is no prostitution taking place, is there? Nor is the woman a victim, if she has total control over the acts performed and has not been financially coerced into anything.

It could be that way if the lawmakers were trying to protect women and not trying to limit their freedom of how to conduct business.

So called "feminists" are actually about control, rather than truly representing the rights of women. Should a woman break from the herd and- gasp- state in clear terms that she is a well adjusted, happy Provider who is not beaten and shamed on a regular basis, she'll be unilaterally ostracized, discredited, and then mocked as a woman who simply doesn't realize she's being exploited.
It's a reservation (feminism) and it has a clear set of leftist, power hungry rules that have little to do with the rights of women.

About forty years ago, I would have opined that the chances of any of these things becoming legal were nil - in fact I would have put the odds at legal P4P much higher than those three.

Yet they are all now legal or about to be so.

So, cheer up, you just never know.

The interesting queston is why those other three things are becoming mainstream, even as new laws to restrict P4P are becoming common.

(Maybe if Bill Clinton ran again?)

Interestingly, America prices for companionship are quite low in comparison to other developed countries where the practice is legal.

Australia is a great example, brothel costs in Sydney and Melbourne are a little over twice the price of a Washington DC courtesan.

America really does have a good system, as long as you play by the rules!

The primary causes of this particular reticence are most men are reluctant to admit that they approve of paying a woman for sex and most women strongly disapprove of prostitution because it presents them with readily available competition. There also is the fact that the U.S. is one of the most sexually repressed nations in the developed world.

As far as any chance of getting it legalized or at least decriminalized, be advised that politicians are acutely aware such a proposal would automatically cost them the womens' vote and make them the target of derogatory accusations from an army of pious, hypocritical masturbators.

Scapegoat? She said it was her theory that people with adhd seek out "shady" activities to get the adrenaline rush. What scapegoat? And she clearly said it was a theory. She didn't state anything in absolute, as you did. She stated her opinion AS opinion, that decrim. would lower p4p activity because her theory is that people do it, in part, for the rush of being bad. You tell her that she is wrong because your OPINION is that people would be less scared to do it.

Both opinions. I happen to agree with both. Some would take up p4p because their fear of LE would be lessened. For others, the thrill would be lessened and they might do it less, or stop.

But your statement that "ADHD has NO place in explaining this business" and "stop using it as your scapegoat" are groundless and arguable opinion, NOT fact.

For one thing, you are two different, hot looking providers that live 600 miles away from me. I'm never going to see either one of you; so when I disagree with one of you, and agree with the other, how is it that I'm thinking with my dick? Or is it just your way to open a message with an insult when someone disagrees with you? In fact, since you are in competition with her in the Boston area, would it be fair to say that you are thinking with your cunt?

For another thing, since you accuse me of not reading, let's take it step by step:
"Part of the fun is the sneakin around and adrenaline and thrills of livin on the edge . i think if it became as ok as walkn into dunks for an ice coffee. We d find a plummet in sales ,. I think alot the guys feed off the fenzied pre appt texting back n forth and tryn to look casual whilst sashaying thru a upscale hotel lobby."
- Her opinion, several times punctuated by "I think" -

"If it were decriminalized it would be just as popular if not more so. Fear of arrest keeps many from playing."
- Your opinion. You didn't feel it was necessary to add the "I think"

"I think maybe alot people with adhd probly enjoy it, i read some weird book after like twenty people family as well as friends all kept pressurin me to go visit the hallowell center and alot actually morethan one, sat me down to watch the movie on it. so any ways, It said in there 80 percent of convicted criminals have untreated adhd , and they actually concentrate BETTER when theres an adrenal rush in the brain. One is that most hard core escorts and hobbyist are also having adult adhd. and like bad. so they constantly are putting them seleves on situations where they can et a jolt of adrenaline and then , in turn focus and get more work done...................funny right?"
- again, "I think". "maybe" a lot of people with adhd enjoy it" She says she read some books on the subject, watched a movie at the Hallowell Center on the subject. She says she has her little theories.
"funny, right?"

Since you've read this piece so carefully, and don't have a penis to interfere with your thought process, why don't you show me the passage that indicates that she's using adhd as a crutch to justify why she has entered the escort business?

And while you are reading, why don't you check out this piece on the relationship between adhd and sexual behavior (there are many if you feel like googling, I just picked one that was short and to the point. It doesn't PROVE a thing, but it certainly calls into question your blanket statement that "ADHD has no place in explaining this business this is not a factor in who plays here".
