totally on the money. If you screen welol and are thorough this should never be a problem. I personally prefer to not see or even know about any envelope til the end and I have never had any problems.
2 reasons really, one of course I really can't be arrested if there is no money or even talk of money.
But then again it ruins the atmosphere, we both know why I am there, its also a fantasy right...why put the financial in the middle and change the mood. Believe me, we both know I am not leaving without my payment for my time I just don't see the need to obsess over it and make it ny bolder thanit already is.

Many providers specifically list on their website wanting unsealed envelope, and I've always assumed this was norm even if not stated.

But I've recently come across a few that specifically state wanting a sealed envelope. I thought the first time I saw it was just a case of sloppy editing, until I've started to see it more often.

So is that becoming the new norm now? What is the advantage to having it sealed at the start?

A sealed envelope simply means that there is no way the lady could know what it in it.

so why would any of them specifically request it sealed?

Perusing websites for providers just in my near area the past couple of weeks I've seen at least six different ones state they want a sealed envelope.

Again, if it is sealed the lady could not possibly know what is in it...and this is exactly what she will tell the judge if it turns out that the guy who handed her the sealed envelope was LE.

I wonder if that might mean that LE is pretty active in that area given that the lady has to balance the risk of the guy being LE vs. having a short or empty envelop.

sorry for making you repeat yourself - I didn't catch the drift initially: I was single-mindedly focusing on counting amounts

As they say on the Straight Dope boards, consider my ignorance fought :)

If she asks for money in a sealed envelope.

How can she claim she had no knowledge?

The only thing that comes to my mind is that if LE showed up, they could claim they had no idea what was in the envelop. Don't think that would actually fly.

I agree, the intent is already there.

Oh and short me with monopoly money while your at it. Just to be super safe!
"I swear it was all a game." I think I'll pass.

Unsealed with a card is always nice. Thoughtful and not so random like a white business envelope.
Bring a bottle of wine and we have anniversay together. How sweet that you remembered.

I cant understand how any of that crap matters... I have seen 1000s of men over the years and I prefer cash in hand up front before I even get touched...and yes I will count every dollar. I have never had a problem. I think these rituals and technicalities are an illusion of not knowing what you are doing or getting. But if the man was a cop you would be busted when you get there...regardless of when you open the envelope. Debbie

The fact remains that if there is a woman, a cop and an envelope full of money all in the same room the woman is going to jail weather the envelope is sealed, unsealed, baked, mashed, fried or flambéed.  Screening to make sure the guy is not LE in the first place is much more important than how the lady likes her envelope. Never the less, I always follow the ladies request, put the envelope in plain view at the start of the session and never mention it.

I actually have one fav who does not want the money in an envelope at all. She was ripped-off a while back by a guy who stuffed the envelope with funny money.

"I can't be arrested if......"

I asked a new provider recently how she screened.
"Well, I ask him if he's a cop."  She thought they had to tell the truth.  Anyone who has spent some time here knows police are allowed to lie.

Not touching the money, not discuccing it, putting clients on notice they want it in a sealed envelope, etc., are unlikely to make a difference.  Arrested and convicted might be two different issues, but probably not.  You CAN be arrested and either it will cost you a chunk of money, or you will have to "qualify" for and rely on a public defender.

It doesn't matter if the money is visible or not. You can be arrested, without even mentioning the funds. Remember, it is "intent".

The fact that either hobbyist or provider answers the ad, and shows up, is enough to get arrested. It doesn't even matter, if you do not touch the money, either.

If it is the person's first time offense, most likely they will pay a fine, get probation, and the charges will be dropped (also depending on where you live).  But, get arrested again, you can face jail time, for sure.

I wouldn't worry so much if it is sealed or not sealed. The concern should be is this person LE? Either way, the provider will not leave with the money, but with silver cuffs.

for the exact same reasons.

I never touch the money until one of us is leaving.  Yes, there is the chance that I will be shorted/giving funny money, but with my thorough screening the chances of that are slim.
