I'll give a concrete example of this after the generalized description.

"Overall AP (appearance-performance)" would just be the average of appearance and performance scores, discarding the highest and lowest scores as flukes; and only applicable to ladies with more than 10 reviews remaining after that.

Then, you take the median price in that provider's home market, and the median overall AP.

You divide the overall AP by the median price; and get an "average value ratio."

Now, to get any individual provider's "individual value ratio" you simply divide that lady's Overall AP by her price.

A provider's relative value (strictly in the hobby marketplace -- not referring to *human worth* which is immeasurable) can be derived by subtracting the average value ratio from her individual value ratio. If the result is negative, she's not a good value.


For example, if in Boston the average Overall AP is 7.5 and the median price is $275, the average value ratio is .027.

Ms. Molly Megaprovider has an AP of 8.5 and charges $300. Her individual value ratio is .0283

When you subtract the average value ratio from her individual value ratio, you get a positive number ...about .001, so you book.

Ms. Super Duperprovider has an AP of 9.9 and charges $1000. Her individual ratio is .00099.

When you subtract the average from her individual score ... you get a negative number, so not a good deal.

The results of subtracting average ratio from individual ratio for each provider could then be used to numerically rank them in their home markets and overall.

I think a formula like this would help fix the ratings system's obvious bias toward high dollar hotties.
