put Nostradamus "The past 500 years" on last nite at midnight?  I learned a lot as it was really a interesting documentary and I fell asleep b4 seeing the ending.

See the link below for a rational approach to Nostradamus's "predictions", more accurately characterized as "retrodictions".  When encountering vague phrases anyone can infer anything after the fact.

In a time of rising ignorance, we need a culture that values rationality and rigorous critical thinking, not obscurantist beliefs.

I remember back about fifteen or twenty years ago seemingly rational people were packing up and leaving California because somehow one of Nostradamus' ramblings was construed to predict that California was going to fall into the ocean that year. Lots of stupid people out there.
