I was just approved on tryst recently and was kinda wondering what that spot was used for myself.. because on our end it doesn't really make sense either..
Saw a provider ad on Tryst with a rate of $500.
Outcall additional $150
Incall additional $100
I asked her under what circumstances is the rate $500?
She got angry
It would be clearer if her rate stated: $600 for incall, $650 for outcall. I have seen a similar ad and wondered the same thing.
You’re trying to help. My rates for outcall & if you require incall it’s additional. As a provider I appreciate constructive criticism. I understand some people do not. I can see how you’re correct. $500 is for nada & she needs to start at $600 incall & $650 outcall
Kiss 💋 keep it super simple.
You have to remember Tryst was started by anti-TES providers (and I'm sure a contracting firm to write the code) for the express reason of ensuring that no provider would be held accountable for their nonsense.
So yes, of course they allow that sort of bait and switch ad, they also allow outright scammers, catfish, spammers, etc, of course she got mad about you mentioning the disparity, it's a dumpster fire and she's a willing participant. Also while they're on the topic, because the listings are 100% run by providers, the search filters just flat out don't work, age/ethnicity/hair color/breast size, all completely useless.
When taking shots at Tryst , if my memory timing is correct, one must acknowledge that the site got its legs under it when TER’s lawyers had them them dark in the US.
Also Remeber how many times you first knew of a provider on that site and then checked her out here. Your complaints on Tryst are valid for those that do not do their homework here.
Tryst isn’t the enemy —
I wouldn't say the site itself is the 'enemy', just that as a platform it's incentives are not aligned with their audience, ie, mongers. I don't think it really poses any tangible threat to TER, its users, or its advertisers.
I don't use Tryst to find potential providers, but, I will certainly reference it when I found a girl elsewhere and she has a tryst page.
Your timeline mostly fits. TER was blocked in the US september 2017, but available via VPN, until december 2019 when it opened back up. Tryst started early 2018, so, an opportune time, but, also, around that time the industry as a whole was SHOOK by FOSTA/SESTA, so, offering an alternative was rather apt, and there were a number of sites that sprang up at that time, most of which you can't talk about on the boards here, Tryst differentiated itself by marketing itself as the non-evil, friendlier, by-hookers-for-hookers alternative to backpage/craigslist/etc. They continue that marketing wankateering to this day.
Do note that their founders have explicitly stated that Tryst will never have reviews like TER because reviews are exploitive to sex workers, and, in their blog posts about other ad sites, they conspicuously don't mention TER, but do mention all of TER's competitors, which is a good picture of who these people are, ie, petty.
I've visited many providers ads there. But, I'm thinking about your comment, "just that as a platform it's incentives are not aligned with their audience".
Their incentives may not be aligned with their 'audience'. But, if the providers are paying to advertise, then their incentives are well aligned with their customers.
I would have to politely disagree. Tryst is difficult to get listed on and I appreciate the hoops they make providers go through to get listed. The process actually weeds out the majority of spam so I would say 90% to 95% of the ads are real, which is far and above most other freebie sites or even Eros. I would recommend the OP contact Tryst customer service as the pricing the provider listed does not make sense and should be corrected. I am not a big fan of their search filter either, it is really set up to search by a location and price. All of the options you listed are not required by tryst to place an ad, so no, it is not going to be very useful if that is the only way you are searching.
If you are ever scammed or whatever you should contact tryst right away and they will shut the provider's ad down. It, like many other ad sites has things it can work on, but it is far from a dumpster fire.
The vast majority of my new clients have been from tryst. I very much appreciate what they make providers go through to get listed to confirm that we are in fact a real provider. I hope TER can follow suit with getting the obviously fake or shill "reviews" taken down in a more timely manner. If you want to talk dumpster fires you may want to start with this one.
You said "I am not a big fan of their search filter either, it is really set up to search by a location and price." Thats isnt my experience with the site at all. You can also filter for age, ethnicity, body type, breast size, hair color, eye color, etc.
I really like their db search filters quite a bit, so maybe I am misconstruing what you are saying maybe? Thanks.
I stand corrected, thanks Robert! I did just go under the "more filters" option on tryst and yes, you can search by these options. Good catch!!
confused, not you. You obviously know how to do an advanced search. You have such a pleasant way of telling providers they are posting stupid shit. I admire your patience. Lol
I'm not exactly sure what you're disagreeing with your reply seems to not reflect what I said...
TER has a process for contesting reviews, and you know this, because you are currently contesting a review of yours. I do wonder if you're contesting it because the scores given are lower than your average, or if it's exclusively because you don't think you've served that guy, but that's a very minor point. The process for removing a review allows the reviewer time to respond, and notes that the review is contested in the review immediately, so, I'm not really sure how much more you'd reasonably want. TER is for the reviewers, not for you. You stand to benefit from being here, which is no doubt why you're here, but you do have to understand that your incentives and TER's incentives are not aligned, nor should they be.
And sure, Tryst has a support email, and a verification process that any sufficiently motivated individual could easily subvert. Even if it worked, all you're verifying is that there's a real person represented by the account, which is a little silly when you think about it, being that bad actors are people too. The only way you really have any sort of certainty as a customer in this industry is via reviews. Without reviews, you're back to craigslist, it might be prettier web 2.0 craigslist with extra steps, but the risk profile is more or less the same.
That I’m not the only one who thinks the search function on tryst is only slightly more useful than a stale bucket of piss.
It’s consumer manipulation. It’s like commercials that say “starting at” $25. There probably is a version of the product that costs $25 but almost nobody can use it and it’s always out of stock anyway. Okay it’s actually worse than that but you take my point.
It’s like those discount airlines where the fees add up to twice what the advertised “fare” is. It’s BS.
Lol! Of course she got angry. Just be thankful for the “I’m shady AF” banner and move on.
In the early days of eBay, they charged a fee on the sold price of the item alone. Sellers would list a low price and exorbitant shipping and handling (no eBay fees on S&H at that time). "Diamond Ring = $5; S&H = $495." eBay wised up and switched to charging fees based on the total amount of the transaction.
.
As this bears on Tryst listings, when shopping on almost any e-tail store, you can sort by "Lowest Price" or "Total Price with S&H." The $5 diamond ring would be at the top of the "Lowest Price" list but way down on the "Total Price" sorted list. The $500 base price shows up when using the $500 or less Tryst slider, if clients are searching that way. She would be totally missed if the base price was $600.

Of course you’re right about her gaming the system to try to show up in more people’s results list. My guess is she thinks guys will fall in love with her pics and decide to go over the budget they already decided upon. I expect the majority of people will see it as either confusing, annoying or shady, or some combination of the three, and just move on.
A few people may not see the “session fees” and show up thinking they’re paying $500. That would be a nice little situation.
Sorting through providers outside your price range because of little games like this is annoying. It’s probably going to end badly for her more times than not, even if that just means lots of people moving on.
My fees, my biz logic 🙄
My outcall is $100 LESS than my in call rate in my area where I’m locally based. I have less expense, I get in my car and go to, quality hotels are expensive in DC especially during the week. For local outcalls my Overhead is less. Incalls are $100 more to help offset my added costs. The model for touring is totally diff when adding, travel, time, costs, hotels, meals, Ubers etc. ( nothing to do with tryst or TER just taking fees ) always trying to provide my clients with great experience/ value / and focus on being on time etc. thank you to all you Gents for your support and biz,
Much appreciated 💕
Some Washington DC restaurants charge a mandatory 22% service fee and then ask you to tip more, if you enjoyed the service. You can either pay it or just don't go.
The smart ladies rent a car when they're touring in a town that they'll be in more than a day or so. Saves a-lot of money over ubering around constantly, and they don't have to wait to make a graceful exit.
This is only tricking the search function and dummies. For those who use the filter function, it means this ad will show up in the $500 or less range. Since most of us can do math, the trick stops there. But I can only imagine the guy who shows up and then argues that the ad said $500 because he didn't do math.
Or didn't read the ad and see the charges listed.
But in my case, if I saw that type of game being played in the ad I would just move on to someone that seems a bit more honest and upfront. Just no way I see a session going well with someone that shows that type of, IDK, opportunistic attitude.
