No membership required to see the posts.  VIP allows you to receive and review private messages and lets you see the details of the reviews.  There may be other VIP benefits, but those are all that I've ever cared about.

Anyone and I mean ANYONE can read all posts on all (except the mod only, provider only and reviewer only ) boards. Not only that ANYONE can lurk without a user name.

Thank you

Hi Robbin-

You seem like a very lovely and beautiful lady who is relatively new to this world. If I am understanding you correctly, you may not be using an alias as you venture into professional dating. I urge you to do so as soon as you can for various reasons not the least of which is privacy - essentially rendering yourself immune to search engines.

I realize you live in Vegas and hence have more of a viable choice about how much visibility you want to maintain - LE is not as much of a concern.

Nonetheless, keeping your private and public lives somewhat distinct in this demimonde might be something for you to consider.

Best of Luck!
Nicole Kelly

There are private forums that only members can log in and view the messages.  You may want to look for those sites.  Also, you have your clear face photos on your website.  If you want to be discreet, you may want to blur your face.

Unfortunately that is one of the downsides of posting on a hobby site.  I learned that one the hard way.  Long ago I was posting on a hobby board with a username that was pretty original but the same one I used on other non-hobby boards.  One day I googled it and sure enough, dozens of results came back from the various boards, including the hobby board.

Bottom line, be careful what you post. Some ladies on TER seem to ONLY post their schedules.  And maybe that is what you should consider as well.

It does turn secrecy on its ear. You could Google my gnarly handle and find that that I've compared it to the Monty Python bit where hermits are talking about their active social lives.

And there's no way to take them down after they've been reported to the search engines.

There are times when a post made freely and openly may over time ...in retrospect... turn out to negative or harmful.  It IS possible for the mods/admin to edit/remove such a post, although you have to ask explicitly and its up to the mod/admin.

Its worth considering should a particular post - or person - come back to haunt you.

partially by searches... NEVER assume that anything on the web... no matter "how secure" it is claimed that it is....  It can be hacked...

Late in the 80's when companies merged... and I went to another company and it merged...  with a company that had purchased the division of the company that I had perviously left...   and that had been sold off leaving the parent comopany...

well... to make a long story  through simple directory searches I was able to communicate with a former co-worker in the parent company that I had left... on another continent.... AND  ALL of the companies had "Secure servers..."!  I reported this to the IT folks.... they were shocked... but it taught me a bit of a lesson....

Robbin,

One thing that might reduce the visibility is to change your handle away from your name.  (I'll offer up "FormerBondGirl" for you).  Contact the TER Staff to get your handle changed.  In addition, when you link to your website fill in the "link title" box.  Rather than showing your URL (which contains your name) it would then display that title, such as "My Website."   Finally, rather than signing off your message with your name, just sign off as "RY" or something.

Try these on innocuous posts for a week and see how well Google picks them up.

You are forgetting one really Big factor here...it is Illegal. You need to think hard if you want to be connected to this with your real life and the rest of the world.

how about Bondbabe or Bond_playmate  or  to use your real name may cause trouble for you.

Always be cautious Robbin.

Weren't you able to read TER before you got your VIP status? Why would you think posting on a public board with VIP status allows only VIPs to see the board.

Here is an oxymoron for you, in connected world every one is connected and that means everyone knows everyones connection.

There is no privacy and if you want to hide, all you can do is not to connect!

May be I didn't quite understand the issue.

Robin Young's photos are fantastic.

I wrote some replies when I first joined.  I was surprised that they came up when I Googled my handle.  Someone does not even have to be looking for it!  I'd much rather that someone had to come to this site first to gain access.

Fortunately, I'd not compromised my seceurity so I switched to this alias for posting.  Leaving my handle just for reviews.

just how easy it is to google info about my screen name. So when I had to change it, I took a couple of precautions: first of all, I googled several screen names that I really wanted. With this one, 16,000 other hits come up. Even better, I picked "AmandaS" as my name on other sites- for which nearly 3 million hits come up. Both of those ensure some anonymity (although less with this one). Go with something very common, the more common, the more anonymous you will be.

I had to get a new web address. I uploaded something called a robots.txt file. No search engines will pick up my website now- and thus no caches of my site will be kept in the search engines in case I ever need to delete my website.

I agree with the three posts directly above this one.  Contact the TER staff and see if you can change your name to something more discreet, like "ryoung".  Maybe it also wouldn't hurt to change your website address if you're worried about privacy.

You are worried about what you have said?
I took a look at your web site and that pretty much says it all.

...You want your name to be instantly recognizable for potential customers, but do not want anybody who knows you to be able to find you doing a google search?

You simply cannot have it both ways.  If your domain name is your real name, there is absolutely no way that a "casual" search of google of the like will not find your domain name.

..But good luck trying....
