It could just as well be freepostsite, cityvibe, NR, TNA, or any other site with that feature, I believe. When I look at BP I see many of the same postings as on these other sites. I also see well reviewed indies and known agencies there as well.

It also seems than around here any provider that offers less than an hour, is viewed as one of the unclean; basically a low-class girl right down there on the bottom with streetwalkers.

I also think it's ofter a vocal minority of men who's warped sense of personal integrity, gives them a feeling of being higher class men by trash-talking the women who post on those sites.

I have had great success with sites like these. (I do go to every length to identify a woman as a true indie who chooses her line of work.)

Of course, I have no reviews posted as HalfHour, so the elitist can brush my comments off, like they do the sleeze they engage in but wont admit to.

I have no frame of reference for many areas of the US. However, in my neck of the woods, these scorned sites are where a goodly number of decent, wholesome, open-minded, fun-loving gals can be found. Many of them are highly reviewed right here on this very site.

In no particular order, some points intended in my post were:

* Using Backpage to find a provider is fine where I live.

* Some men on TER trash talk Backpage unfairly.

* There are many sites like BP that don't get trash-talked.

* Good, reviewed providers advertise many sites sites like BP.

* Just because a provider advertises on BP doesn't mean she's low-class, a skank, flake or ROB.

* Trashing BP providers may be a symptom of being an elitist hypocrit. Or as I like to say: "ASSCLOWN!"

* Offering a 30-minute session doesn't mean you are a low-class provider.

* TER is not the king of sites in all areas of the country.

* I don't know jackshit about most of the US regarding what sites are good, how the hobby culture is there, etc.

* I know my major metro area well, and my opinions are based on extensive experience there.

* I am successful at finding good providers on BP in my area, and sites like it.

* I am often dismissed by TER members because there are no reviews associated with my handle, HalfHour.

* There is really nothing wrong with BP, but it is used by some as 'the bad thing' that they avoid just to show themselves and others that they are better than those who do use it.

Sometimes, as in MY neck of the woods, the sites you mention appear to be the ONLY sites used by those who look for providers. TER just doesn't seem to exist here. I've yet to meet anyone from TER, or if they were, they never said a word - nor did they post a review. Thus I used the sites you mentioned and had mostly WONDERFUL clients.

I think that anytime anyone is judgmental about anyone else in this hobby, its the ultimate hypocrisy.  A number of guys have bought into the notion that the TER community is somehow the "High End" of Net Whoring, but we're the middle class at best.

I wholeheartedly agree that where the provider chooses to advertise has nothing to do with her quality as a provider. I don't care if she's pasted her ad to the back of a book of matches as long as she has good reviews and can perform.

BTW, almost every session I do is a half hour due to time and budget constraints, yet almost every Net Whore I've seen has been found through TER.

and I, too, have referred to BP as a place I won't go for dates.  But it's also true that most  of the people here who comment on BP have pointed out (as I have) that, while you do get a high proportion of B&S, etc. on BP, a lot of traveling providers use it, too.  In other words, it depends.  There are also a lot of local  girls in smallish localities who use BP even though they are also listed on TER.  All this doesn't mean BP sucks and you should never use it.  It just means you have to be more discriminating when searching there.

There are some legit providers who do not have reviews, you know.

Though a bit more complicated, there are ways to get a good idea that the ad is from a legit gal. That is my first and formost concern as I don't worship in the Temple Of The TER Review as some do.

My first TER reviewed provider was a complete fuckin disaster, even with 3 pages of reviews. It haunts me to this day. uhhhggghhh...

Over time, I learned the ropes, but always kept my on on that provider's ads and her TER reviews. As a reviewing VIP, I went over and over her reviews, watched for patterns, read the other reviews of the guys that reviews her, etc., for three years. You might say I was a bit obsessed with finding out why my trust in the research process had failed to badly

Eventually I came to understand what reviews can and cant tell me. In her case, the reviews she had by guys who reviewed like I did, were not that great. What an epiphany!

What I eventually learned is that "planted" reviews are more common than anyone will admit to. Also, some guys give great review to any receptical they find, which is worthless. Some underscore regularly, also worthless. These sorts of things, along with a flawed system in general, showed me that reviews do not indicate what my experience will be like and are of little value, other than to establish that a woman actually does provide.

Another series of experience show me that I could have a great time with a provider with less than stellar reviews.

Two providers that I enjoyed and continued to repeate with, had very spotty reviews. I had a session with one of those (before I reviewed her) where I didn't finish, but it was not her fault. Before I left, reviewing was mentioned and she became very upset and worried and asked if I was going to put that in a review. I told her "I'm not an asshole." I liked her, went back, and had a rocking time. I wrote a good, honest review.

That lesson taught me something about reviewing in general: I have no idea if a mixed review is bullshit from an ASSCLOWN, a bad day, or a YMMV, unless I can determine something by studing the reviewers' styles.

Eventually the 'heat' in my area caused me to get completely away from the online 'scene' of review boards. I dumped all existing accounts, hobby email addies, etc. When I decided to start participating again, I got new handles and I changed my approach for my own piece of mind.

Through all that I learned "how to" techniques for my area to sift through the bullshit in any type of site including BP and TER.

So, it can be done. But it's not for the faint of heart.

Okay, let me start by saying that I do, at times, advertise on BP.  It's rare, but it does happen.  And I have found some very good clients there.  No doubt about it.

BUT - and I would type that in HUGE font if I could - when I advertise on BP, I also get more BS responses than from anywhere else.  Exponentially more - and I mean that quite literally.  More one line emails "do you bbbj?"  More "what's a reference?"s.  More "I'm not gonna tell you nothing about me."  More "can we talk first cause I have a really big cock and I need to know if you can handle it before I actually schedule."s  More "what's your 15 minute rate?"s.  A LOT more.  So much more that it is usually not worth my time to advertise on BP.

Until it is, which is generally only when a tour is not already pre-booked via other sources.  Or when I'm trying to let clients from a now defunct website know that I'm around.  

So do I think BP is bad?  Not necessarily.  I consider it a necessary evil, and I use it only as a last resort.  But sometimes you can find me there.  And frankly, I don't care where you find me, as long as you email.

Never been a problem for me, as long as I do my research and think more with the big head than the little one. Even met some ladies on BP, who were just starting out in the biz,who've gone on to become top rated escorts. Most didn't realize some of the negative stereotypes BP has, most if not all have dropped BP from their current marketing. I still do see quality touring escorts use BP as part of their pre touring marketing.

.. is a good source of raw ads, but don't you need to vet each ad by looking for reviews here, to ascertain the photos are for real, and the lady has a reputation for good service?

I've seen visiting providers too rich for my blood running ads on BP. This attitude that BP has to be explained as slumming is what I think HH is upset about.

Just coincidentally, I was surfing around the New Reviews section and found one of a girl who seems to only advertise on BP.  She has one TER review, but it's by a veteran reviewer who has seen many well-known girls across the country, so I trust it.  Her pix are outstanding and her scores and Juicy Details were excellent.  She's a good example of a real find on BP and I would certainly see her.

To be honest all the reviews I have posted have been from providers I found on backpage.  However, I just didn't pick a picture that I wanted and immediately call.  I would do extensive research to make sure there was actually a matching girl on the other end.  But, that's where TER came in handy to verify who was posting the ad and what I was going to expect.  I have to admit, I got what I paid for when I was recruiting off BP but I can't say I wasn't warned by the reviews on here.  Most of the reviews were spot on and even when I tried a provider and was a little disappointed I thought the TER reviews were skewed.  But when I got home I read over the same reviews and they were similar to what I just received.  Guess the wrong head was doing the thinking. There were plenty of times were I saw a girl I would love to meet on BP but unfortunately I couldn't find a review and am not willing to TOFTT.

BP hasn't always come through though.  I can't say this is exclusive to BP because I am still new.  There has been at least two times where I set everything up and made an appointment and got stood up.  I figure we were doing the two call system and got screwed on the second call.  I sat in the parking lot of two different hotels for minutes  upon minutes waiting for them to answer my call only to realize this was a waste.  I have also called providers from BP and get a conversation going for them to randomly hang up and then refuse to answer further calls.  

That being said I do see that there is a correlation between price and different posting sites.  I am still new to this whole process/hobby and am moving from a rational consumer to more of an irrational one (kinda like girls and diamonds). I have experienced a few providers who provide a good service for a good value.  I am no longer value hunting but am looking to experience one of the providers with a few more stars behind her name which naturally means more $$.  

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.  I have looked at these other posting sites to find reviews on their phone numbers that are terrible.  You have these amazing looking postings that are usually agency who have terrible reviews or girls who breath and piss up sell.   I don't think you are going to find anyone site that is just simply amazing and be the one... or else we wouldn't be having this conversation.  All a guy needs to do is a little research with the right head and I think you can come up with favorable results most of the time.

it really depends on where you live. In my experience, TER was never a good source in South Carolina and Backpage was. The ratio of B&S, flakes and fakes compared to honest providers was very good. Yes, there were always plenty of emails that just got ignored but that just goes with using it. In Atlanta the ratio is very bad and I posted once on there and will not even bother doing it again.

I think the way people view Backpage really depends on where you live...in some areas it's a good place and in others it's not. If I go back to visit SC I will without a doubt post there...here in Atlanta? Not a chance lol.

So I am in ATL and there are quite a few wonderful ladies and a few good agencies (that I know of).  I always hear the horror stories associated with BP that I don't even bother.  

Heck, I have three favorites that I like to see and when they are not available I like to call an agency (but they have been unreliable answering the phone lately).

I also tend to stay in the $250+ range and like multiple hours so I guess I have no need for BP but if I ever did is there a primer on how to screen there without using TER reviews?   Sure I can use TINEYE and Google the phone number but usually that turns up nothing.

Regarding a point made above about legit providers not having TER reviews, this is true. I met a girl from San Diego who was fine as wine, sweet and a good provider. Couldn't find anything on TER, but did find reviews on other sites, so I took the plunge. Later, I tried to submit a review and it was denied because she was a de-listed provider. I emailed support to see what that was about (new here, don't know much), as I thought it might be something negative, and wanted to let them know she was A-OK. They responded that there are many reasons why a provider may be de-listed, including her asking for it.

This always makes me wonder about some of the girls I see post regularly on there, but can't find any reviews for, like a girl named Allison and another named Holly... but I don't think I'll take anymore leaps...

It's not BP, CL or whatever else comes along out there that anybody should hate... it's the scammers that use it to give the whole experience a bad name.

In my neck of the woods... these services are saturated with the agencies known for ripping everybody off with the bait and switch, up sell and everything else. CL, BP or whatever are not the ones posting the BS ads... just hosting a site that provides an advertising medium.

No reason to "hate" the messengers....  Not sure where the "so many here love to hate" comes from but a good plug for BP regardless...

bbws (*coughs*) or "low rent" not your thing cool....all you need to do while looking on BP or wherever else you look you can always refer back to TER or whatever other review site is popular for the area(s) you're in because like HalfHour said TER isn't king everywhere.  Or better yet if it's not your thing it's just as fine if you want to stay off of the site altogether.

and recognize which headlines to skip over without even reading them (too many symbols, all caps, too suggestive, hardsell, desperate, etc.), and which are worth clicking on, if only to close them after a split second glance. Plus, most ads are repeats.

I check pages for at least four nearby cities almost daily, which typically takes me about 5-10 minutes total. If I see more than a couple that I need to research further, it can take longer.

Like at TJ Maxx, though, the clutter is the point. Its the unexpected stuff you happen across while you're looking for what you went in for that makes your day. At the Gap, you make a beeline for the boxer shorts and make your exit. It probably makes sense in a large market where the "merchandise" is always "well stocked". Elsewhere, without those accidental discoveries, mongering would be kind of bleak.
