Get so much spam all the time that we are tired of it.  Is there a program that is safe, reliable and worth putting on the computer?

Ad-Aware is very good and it's free

I use them all.  Spyware blaster helps to prevent spyware from getting on.  The others will remove it.

I have Norton Internet Security 2006, has Anti-Spam program also ... works great as it scans my Outlook Express and catches soooo much spam.

I am using Spybot and Ad-Aware, but still have tons of spam.  And, yes, do keep all up-to-date almost daily.
Using the above, do you suggest Norton Internet Security 2006 would stop spam (for the most part) altogether?
With all I have already, I still get too darn much spam and am sick, sick, sick of it.

great; you can tag spam senders as spam, then all future email from them is canned; likewise you can have approved senders who's email always gets thru.  You can even label as spam everything from large spam originators - e.g. domains ending with .ru or yahoo.com, hotmail.com, google.com

used Spybot(was not really compatable with my Outlook Express, I had to constantly run a system restore) so I deleted it.

As for Ad-Aware, it did not catch everything on mine.

Plus I did not care to have sooo many programs on my PC.

Norton Internet Security automatically updates everything, which I love! It will catch a large percentage of spam and use that as a training tool to catch even more.

Also, depending on your surfing habits ... Norton Internet Security has Ad Blocker(which a lot of adware/spyware come from), works great.

If you do decide to switch to Norton Internet Security, just make sure that your PC has enough space. I tried to install it on my mothers and it did not work ... not enough space.

I agree about Norton Internet Security 2006.  However, don't overlook the Junk filter built into Outlook 2003.  After I switched from Outlook Express, I was amazed at how many appropriate e-mails Outlook 2003 automatically put into the Junk file. Running both Norton and 2003, the 2003 is catching about 8 times as many junk items as Norton does.  That's not to indict Norton - it may be the Outlook gives its own Junk system first crack at the catch, and then Norton catches the rest.  But I like having both.  They intergrate together very well.

Got Norton AntiVirus 2006--which, this year for the first time--comes with the Firewall option.  Next year, for another $30 or so, I wil get the Norton Internet Security system as you get a Spam Blocker.  Worth it to me.  Thanks!!!!!!  I had no idea of the difference until now.
I'll also have to figure out about Outlook, too.  Boy!  Maybe this computer stuff isn't so hot to learn it all on your own...ha!
