When I was a young bachelor in my 20's to early 30's, my specialty was picking up one night stands in clubs and bars.  After a few early years of trial and error,  I was able to raise my seduction technique to a dependable skill.   On more than one occasion, after closing the deal, I had a failure to launch due to too much alcohol consumption.  Some guys fuck better when they have had a lot to drink.  I'm the opposite.  For me, moderation was the key to success.

I was at a hotel in the midwest. Went down to the bar to see if there was any talent. Nada.

Went up to my room and tried to go to sleep, but really wanted some company.  Grabbed the yellow pages and called the number on the best looking ad, which is to say it looked around 20% legit.  They agreed to send over two girls.

An hour later, the guy at the front desk called to ask if I was expecting anyone.  The tone in his voice should have let me know that these were people I didn't want in my room, but I told him to let them up.  Next thing I know, I've got two very rough looking women smoking some kind of illegal drug (not pot) in my bathroom.

I wanted nothing to do with them, but I let the less nasty one jack me off and then asked politely that they leave.

Back in the 1980s and 90s I would always use the Yellow Pages to find escorts when I was on a business trip.

 
Out of at least 20 times I can recall doing so, I ended up with very nice gals.   Only one time did I get ripped off by a gal who said that she was there to be my escort, as in she would go out with me to a bar, restaurant, movie, etc.  Of course this is after I handed her the fee.

I lost track of how many times I used the Yellow pages to find a girl back in the 80s-90s, but I must have done so in at least 20 different cities and I actually became a regular at some of the services back before our hero Al Gore invented the internet for us perverts. lol I know I must have "ordered up" hundreds of girls that way during that time. I won't say my batting average was as good as yours, but by and large I ended up happy most of the time except for the occasional upselling bitch of course.

back in "the day"  in Vegas there would be literally dozens of full page yellow page ads for escort agencies .. it was amazing.  but yes those days are long gone.      I also was pretty lucky with girls in LA and other cities found via yellow pages or street corner escort oriented newspapers.    although i also imagine the bar was pretty low back then.   i wonder how those girls would stack up today against the ones with their own professionally made websites   etc.

Of course a horn dog like me would naturally say yes, even if the last girl wasn't even out the door yet. lol I have to confess that on many trips the $500 hr or whatever the rate happened to be, it was still a LOT cheaper entertainment than the tables downstairs. Four or five girls at $500 apiece would still be less than a single hand of blackjack when I got rolling back then.

 
I remember the agencies back then varied widely in the quality of their women, both in looks and service, but yes I remember some real hotties back then. I have to confess that when I actually lived in LV I can't remember ever using an agency, there was simply so much talent all over the place to be bothered with agencies, not to mention all the free pussy back in the 70's and 80's when I lived there. I would very rarely seek out hookers back then, but if the right girl approached me at the right time... It's hard for a red blooded guy in his twenties to turn down pussy that he can have "right now" especially if I had a good night at the tables with a pocket full of cash burning a hole in my pocket. I remember a bad experience back then in Kentucky. Call a ad from the yellow pages and was surprised by an really attractive lady showing up at my door. Only to be told told that I had paid only for her time and company. No amount of money would get her to do any more. I sent her on her way. She did offer to do a dance for me.
