Either you stay miserable for rest of your life or get a divorce..  Trying to hide mongering from your SO w/o having any separate finances is next to impossible. What are you going to do? sell dope to make cash? LOL..

I have never been married so not saying it's an easy decision. But hey.. sometimes you are better off going your separate ways. Then you can do whatever you want.  There is lot more dignity in that than trying to hide, cheat, and steal.

Actually CDL had it right, when dealing with deposits to providers you inevitably end up jerking off into a napkin

Take up horse racing.  Take $500 to the track every Saturday.  Bet $100 and stash the other $400 for mongering / sugar donations.

If you happen to get good at money management, cut the $500 back in increments of $100...

Works for me...I've also won in excess of $30k / year in 2012-2013.   Your winnings are also tax deductible with proof of losing tickets until 2025 where it's scheduled to be phased out.  But until then...

That tax free excess can also go towards the kinder's 429 plan$.   And Momma is all good!!!!!

The above is a fictional accounting as this is a fantasy website.  The above advice should not be relied upon as a scheme to fraud the US government out of precious tax revenue.

If the OP has any common sense he won’t send a deposit or get all flustered about needing to.

I have literally done this for decades, and I have never once sent a deposit.

These ladies are free to charge whatever they want, and demand deposits, and you are just as free to not pay inflated fee’s, or deposits.

That is your choice, do you.

Not sure what else needs to be said. In all fairness if you have no references or have a habit of cancelling at the last minute , then perhaps a depots is warranted.

I like to treat providers like gold ( and give them the benefit of the doubt )  until they prove otherwise. Those who must have a deposit are probably best left alone.

This is from Fedex's website. Clearly says don't send cash.

Not sure what will happen if they find out it's cash.. Technically it's a federal crime. Never sent it.. Never will. If you are sending cash for legal reasons there are lot of legal ways to do so.  I can wire the money to another bank, use Western Union,  use Apps like Zelle /Venmo / Cash App/ or just send a check by FEDEX /UPS/ USPS.

I don't send money like that for illegal activities. Sorry... No sex is worth it.

Might I suggest you start a side gig. Regardless of your age it is always nice to have some separate finances. Sometimes to do something the SO would be upset by, other times so you can explore something and even other times so you can be downright naughty (yep, get laid by some young, tight, accommodating woman who is in the sex industry).

Whatever it is…..collecting baseball cards, selling hand carved duck decoys, collecting rare coins or refereeing youth sports it doesn’t matter as long as acoupke boxes are checked off:  (1) something your SO has little or no interest in exploring; (2) kind of mundane thing so it is common knowledge; (3) chances to spend money; (4) chances to make money and (5) most importantly requiring you to go places and interact with people.

Now you can and should have a separate checking account and credit card. But even more importantly you will have the income necessary to play, a place to hide said money in plain sight, a way to move those funds around and a chance to be out and about so you can be ravaged sexually by some woman whose appearance and sexual prowess rings your bell and grips your trigger!

So you don't think cash coming in like that can raise eyebrows?  Does it have to be put in an envelope and labeled with a big black sharpie that it's for illegal activity .

Think about it. Will you send a cash like that for legitimate reasons? Even if you are super old school, like my grandma old school, you will waddle your way to the post office buy a money order and send it..

Now you got repeat envelopes of cash going to a particular mailbox, and all of a sudden FEDS are looking at you..  They may not be able to get you for receiving cash, but they will get you for something..

You see where I am going with this? You feel me?

I would like to take issue with part of your statement.

"...most people aren't phased about treating hookers like any other professional service and are okay with paying a deposit to secure their time."

I treat them EXACTLY the same as I do any professional business or service, I have never paid a deposit for anything in my life, and have no intention of ever doing so, I have never even put money down on the homes I've owned, I will pay for anything at the point of sale, but I will not put cash forward before value received.

Now that's my rule to live by and I ask no one else to do so.  I also never tell a hooker how to structure her business model. or what to charge.

Now if he happens to want to see a particular hooker who charges a deposit, and he can't make that work, then she goes on the long list of women all of us mongers have of women that we wanted to see, but never will, because for whatever reason she doesn't meet the criteria of what we, the consumer, are looking for.  There's more fish in the sea and all that...

That is, of course, his decision to make.

There are more providers available than I will ever be able to see during my remaining hobby years, so if a lady I want to see makes things more difficult to do so, then I draw a line through her name and go to the next name on my list.  I never have any regrets.  There is NOBODY I want to see so badly that I will jump through hoops to do it.  Once she is naked, she has the same parts as all of the other girls on my list, so I will simply move on.

You don't know me...You should go and read some of my older posts.. I am actually quite against paying deposits
In fact, I turned down 2 appointments in January itself from ladies who were asking for deposits. One happened to be my mistake that I didn't read her website carefully, and 2nd one her mistake for springing it on to me at the last moment, and not having it anywhere on the site.

I am not talking about you personally. You inserted yourself in the conversation. Maybe it works for you. And yes, if you are getting something in mail just twice a year, no biggie.. But hope you can see the bigger picture.. a) Explaining it to authorities b) Trust issues... c) Inherent risk in sending the cash like that....

My request to the OP is to get a lawyer and dump his woman.. Without  separate finances it's next to impossible to hobby. How's he going to get the money out of the banking system  without she noticing big withdrawal. A few dollars here and few dollars there can take months to come up with $300-400.

I agree that sending cash via mail or FedEx is ill advised but that is largely on the "don't pay deposits" basis.

Per se, sending cash though the mail doesn't appear to be illegal. (https://legalbeagle.com/6624012-postal-laws-sending-money-mail.html) but given the intent here that probably constitutes a separate crime (likely worse than the sex related one).

Very sure the deposit thing is a rather new development. I saw a few providers in the 2003-2008 time frame and none demanded deposits. And screening wasn’t quite as stringent as it tends to be today. Now I almost qualify as a newbie again because the two I had seen more than once from 2013 forward are now for all intents and purposes out of the biz now.

In addition there are all these scam sites that materialized after the original Backpage went down. Have never talked to a single woman from there. It’s all text and almost none even take cash. I got burned by this whole gift card thing a few months back.

I have been hobbying since 2001 - since ripe old age of 21. No one talked deposits back then.  Things were much simpler back then. You called the girl to make appointment, a quick trip to ATM and off you go..

If I had to guess I would say it originated out of the FMTY setting type cases.

While I'm not taking a position here (I've never paid but am not saying I never would either), it's not like deposits are not unheard of in many other transaction settings. Pretty much any time one side of the transaction has to make some type of investment (buying materials, for example, that have little demand/value for most people or expending funds to start something) will often require some "skin in the game" by the other party.

I've certainly seen a few providers comment that for touring they are looking both to filter for clients that are more likely to keep the appointment and shift at least some of the cash flow to the start of the trip to pay travel related expenses rather than pay out of pocket and then recoup during the trip.

Deposits usually have a collateral or insurance or some guarantees associated with them

There are no such mechanisms in p4p world. None.

There is a reason people are comfortable with putting money in US banks that are federally insured, and uncomfortable with putting money, in, say, eastern European banks that can default at any minute.

most people aren't phased about treating hookers like any other professional service and are okay with paying a deposit to secure their time.
Perhaps you are too busy with gloating about "winning" (not sure what you won but OK. I remember Charlie Sheen was also "winning" at some point, just sayin') to note that most professional services have either guarantees, insurance, investor backing, or third party proxy mediators to ensure the seller doesn't just grab deposit and run.

You perhaps have seen the buzz phrase "rug pull"  related to crypto scams. This happens because crypto is not well regulated yet.

Same thing happens in p4p industries. Scammers run rampant and they prey on gullible mongers. Mongers don't have any insurance if their deposit besides the word of the seller, and that word is seldom worth more than a deuce I just took, especially in context of scammers.

I'm sure most are happy if you "win" by being a legit provider. But I'll be damned if I'll ever be happy as long as scammers *ever* "win". Deposits contribute immensely to total amount of scams pulled on my monger bros. In fact, most scams are of this kind. They pose the least risk for scammers. They don't involve crlminal charges such as r0bbery.

Instead of saying  (I'm paraphrasing here) "people hate provides who have deposits and win" you should switch your narrative to "people hate the possibility of being scammed and scammers who win via deception".

My site has a deposit explanation section.  I use it as a tool to weed out time wasting folks and those wanting a quick rendezvous.  Do I require a deposit for every encounter? No.  Do I enforce it when I feel it's necessary? Yes.  It does earmark my time/day for the client though.  Without the earmark I could very well have something more important come up during that time that will take precedence over the non-earmarked appointment. Personally I work multiple jobs. So when I don't have an earmarked appointment (deposit) I am working my other jobs and out living my life.  It takes me a good bit of time to prep for an earmarked appointment and the actual deposit ensures that my prep time will not be wasted.  Not once have I had a client push back on my request for a deposit neither cancelation fees.  I appreciate your opinion on this topic greatly. Thanks for sharing it.

I would do some research and ask around on what banks thay do not send any paper trails and all electronic. I also have a client who has to do this. Because his wife knows exactly who I am. (But I don't know her)

You can also pull put cash and purchase prepaid items such as an amazon gift card or other card that can be universally used virtually

Even if you go fully electronic, evidence of the account will still likely appear in any credit report (and those agencies know more about each of us than we likely know ourselves!), and one’s partner can pretty typically see that in a jointly issued credit report (such as might be pulled if applying jointly for a mortgage). Maybe that doesn’t happen all too often for some of us, but it’s always going to be lurking out there as a way of outing the existence of the allegedly secret credit card. Some prepaid cards do not appear on a credit report, but funding them poses its own challenges.

My Tryst account got hacked. They changed the email from [email protected] to their own email. They then added to the text " I have been burned too long and no require a 25% deposit. " then they would never keep appointment. I do not require deposits.  I had dinner at Oya and they required a deposit $75  would be charged to my credit card if i cancelled.

I am just not down for requiring payments up front. I have had a few no shows no email but very few and sometimes things come up. I had a client who cancelled on me twice within less than 24 hours and the one time i needed to cancel he wanted a discount on our next visit!
