Some time ago I read a good post on what to say (write), in an initial contact asking for a meeting with a provider, but I cant find it and forgot most of it. So a couple of questions
Can you guys and gals offer up some ideas on what to say when contacting a lady for the first time. What do the ladies like to see in a first email contact?
Also, if the meeting is a week or so away, is it appropriate to write her a few times after the meeting is set up, trying to establish a little rapport? And if so, what kind of things to talk about? I just cant think of what to say.

i personally enjoy getting to know someone prior to a meeting. it makes the entire situation smoother more pleasant and its learning about different people you may normally never have the oppurtunity to meet.

I like to see someone being forth coming with verification info. I like to see you have seen others prior to me someone i can contact and be sure you are not the boston strangler . I like to see you are interested in seeing someone just like me based on who you have seen before. It isnt really what you say it is what you do . Just like anywhere else in life.

I always approach this as if I were writing a personal, i.e., give a full description of myself physically and professionally, and always provide at least one, and usually, two references. This gives the lady more than enough info to screen, and usually elicits a positive response. In general, expect to talk with her on the phone beforehand...this has usually, but not always, happened before an initial meeting. Do not try to stray too much from other than the fact that you are looking forward to meeting her...any small talk can occur once you do! Good luck!

Keep It Simple and Straightforward!
I think the best way to go with initial contact is to keep it business-like and to-the-point. Include your references, or explain that you are a newbie without them up-front. Be sure to include when you want to see her. A concrete request will get much more attention than "I want to chat with you" will. Keep in mind these ladies get a lot of email every day.
In speaking with a few of my SPs Ive learned there are a lot of guys who just want to chat but never make an actual appointment. I think they are called "lurkers". Don't be that guy, and avoid appearing to be one.
If you are booking in advance, a quick email the day before to confirm is not at all a bad thing. Just something simple to let her know you are still a "go" for the scheduled appt.
I think the bottom line here is to not appear to be wasting her time. If you did your research and she is well reviewed, there really is no need to "establish a rapport" as you put it. She will establish that when you finally meet in person.

Always introduce yourself. A description of yourself is nice but not necessary for me, unless you have a scratchy beard. I prefer it if you already had your references placed in the first email, especially if you're looking for a same-day appointment. If you've done your research then you already know I'm safe.
However, from a man's point of view I can see why most introduce themselves first and then ask if I am free on a particular date and time. If I say "no" then they haven't already given me personal information. Now, with this said, by the second email it is quite acceptable and less annoying if you give me your references' names and websites, your cell number and a good time to call you and your real name. A TER handle is nice if we've been communicating over time but it doesn't help in the reference-checking process. I do not White List anyone for LE purposes, nor do I trust the White List (no offense TER) because anyone can say they are that person. Personally, I think it's a waste of time.
So, the most important thing is to give me the above information as soon as possible. Otherwise, it will get irritating for me to have to keep asking you for it and I will be suspicious of you. I get so many emails a day, so if you want me to take you seriously then you won't hesitate in giving me all your information in an email.
I hope that was to the point for you and all others who wish to book an appointment. The emails afterward (getting to know you stuff) is great, but after I've checked you out. Then I feel safe enough to joke with you, laugh with you and flirt with you.

ROFLMAO. Just for fun I am going to try that with some of the verified rip offs..
Now that I have pondered longer.It would be fun to start a club where we bombard the Known rip offs with appointments and treat them with a lovely NCNS.
As I'm active posting here as skb & have 7 reviews under my member name... When there was an active TER lady I wanted to see I provided the usual information plus I told her I would PM her from my member name & gave my skb posting name & my pvt e-mail & cell number... tied the identity together nicely Her PM was "that's YOU!" I think it went a long way to putting her at ease & our meeting the following week went smoothly.

The following is my idea of a perfect first email from a prospective suitor:
Dear Aina,
I recently came across some of your posts on TER and was intrigued by what you had to say, so I followed the link to your website, which I read in it's entirety.
I am very interested in setting up a 3-hour date with you while I am in Quito next month on business. I understand that this will cost $1200.
Please let me know if you are available between October 29 and November 1, 2008. I will be available after 5 pm on any of those days.
If you are available, I will be happy to send you my full legal name, employment information and Preferred 411 member ID for screening and verification purposes.

Basically, I want a prospective suitor to tell me where he first heard about me, that he read my entire website, when and where he wants to see me, that he knows what my rates are, that he knows what my screeing requirements are, and that he is willing to comply with them.
If I let him know that I am available to meet him during the times he has specified, I expect a prompt second email with his full legal name, place of employment, and either a P411 member ID or the full contact information for at least 2 ladies he had seen recently.
After I have screened him, I will ask him for a picture or a physical description and I will let him know how to pay the applicable deposit.
A few more e-mails from him will certainly help establish rapport before our meeting, but I do not consider them strictly necessary.
