On changing people's opinions

You pretty much said it in as many words.

You'll never change a person's opinion who is convinced they are right..

The only time a person's opinion on a topic ever changes is when they change it themselves, and usually, a second person has nothing to do with it (though there are those nice, rare occasions when you can give someone a different perspecive and they realize it makes more sense)

But under no conditions can you convince someone YOU are right, either.. it's an ego thing.. you'll never accept something someone else says if you think they're trying to be right, even if you know deep down that they're right.

I wouldn't even bother responding to those threads.  It is said that the truth takes two people: One to speak it, and one to listen.. We will be forever doomed if we continue to ask for the truth and then refuse to hear it.

I was roaming the message board at askmen.com; great site, lots of fun.  there was a thread in the love/relationship board on escorts.  So funny.  I'm debatting going in there and setting them straight....its like 4 pages long and all the guys start out with "i've never been with one, but i think it should be legal"
should i/shouldn't i??

I know the message boards at askmen.com quite well, and have responded to a few escort threads in the way you're considering. Basically outlining how when done right (utilize the ratings system and behave appropriately), the upscale exchanges that take place, how the people involved are often very interesting and well adjusted, and why in particular many men would choose to pay to have the most incredible sexual experiences of their lives with stunningly beautiful, supremely talented women.

You won't likely change anyone's opinions. The civilian women hate the idea because of the obvious threat to their "sexual power". The men are afraid to acknowledge or agree because they're compelled to supplicate the women's opinions.

There's a very strong dose of right and morality on that board. Cheaters and those who behave outside certain "boundaries" are skewered.
