I know its off the path but hey it is a general discussion board, right?  What comes over a guy to be involved with something like this.  The things that are coming to light about this case is truly disturbing.  I hope that throw him into a room and throw the room away into space toward the sun.  @!*&$ you Michael Vick!!!!!!

Whether it is callously and brutally killing a dog that didn't perform, or inside betting on team sports, or illegal drug use etc the self inflicted sabotage these arrogant, testosterone drunk aberrations to accepted societal mores do to their MULTI million dollar careers is the very definition of "Stupid".

We now see him for what he has always been..A STREET THUG!!!!! You can take a thug out of the ghetto,  give him a $100+ million contract, BUT he will always remain a thug. He's going to jail for no less than 2+ years and he has zero chance of playing for the NFL.

I wouldn't make any sure bets about him not playing for the NFL again.  We tend to have a short memory, and when he comes out of jail praising jesus and saying he's sorry...we may see him on the field again.  We tend to be a bit gullible as a nation sometimes.

Since the days of 49r's Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Ronny Lott, Dwight Clarke, I've stopped watching pro-football.  All were gentlemen, and thrilling to watch.  I quit because I believed that the game had become "Of the thugs, by the thugs, and for the thugs."  Vick is the personification of that.

Whatever he gets is too light in my opinion.

At least some good news, for a change. He really deserves to get his azz bitten, while in jail. I would be too happy to put some dogs in his jail cell, and let them have their way with him.

I agree with you sausage. You can take him out of the ghetto, but you can never take the ghetto out of him.
As a player, he's incredibly overrated; so what if he was the first QB to rush for a thousand yards, the job of a quarterback is to throw the damn ball. If I wanted a running back, I would get a running back. His passing statistics are atrocious. On top of all that, he flipped off the fans at a game last year.
I know I'm going to get flamed as a racist (because I am daring to say anything negative about AA) , but here goes: dogfighting is pretty prevalent in the black community; I don't know why.
Of course, the NAACP wants him to able to play football again.
The whole affair has made me sick. I am NOT a PETA crazy; but I do love animals. I hope he gets a stiff sentence; but let's face it, he is a star, he will skate

You're right - most of the time our society has a short memory.  But not always - witness OJ Simpson, etc.

The reaction to Vick's brutality, stupidity, and cruelty has hit a nerve with many of us and created such a backlash that this just may not be forgotten.  At the very least, The American Humane Society, PETA, and others may well remind us of Vick's moronic behaviour when there comes a time in the future where we may need reminding.  It's possible he'll not play again.
