The world's oldest profession isn't going away, but the recent legislation in the U.S. has had an impact. We are all wondering what will happen next. It might be useful to look back at what the hobby was like in the past.

My first hobby experience was in 1996. I experienced both a rough breakup and a wild bachelor party in the same week, and learned that it was really easy to hire an escort. They were listed in the Yellow Pages phonebook in the E section, under Escorts. There were more than a dozen agencies in town, and I could call any of them and have a provider sent over. No screening and no reviews, so each time was YMMV with upselling. The appointment immediately ended with the first pop. Providers were often really late, as overbooking was common practice. Due to the lack of screening, providers often had a driver who doubled as security in case the john caused trouble. The overall experience was generally so bad that my ATF back then would be considered a TER 7/7 now.

Without TER reviews, many providers will never rise above the level of BP girls. They will revert back to bad practices of the past like overbooking and upselling and leaving at one shot, because there won't be any reviews to hold them accountable. If P411 goes away, screening is going to become more difficult, and providers will eventually lower their standards just to stay competitive. As a result, I predict that this hobby is going to be less safe and less enjoyable for both providers and customers. I hope I am wrong, and I hope P411 sticks around and TER eventually brings back the reviews.

Link up with your providers and get on their mailing lists.  We have friends in the industry as well. Imo it's the safest route right now. I have a feeling one day all the sites will go dark. Maybe I'm wrong.  But, my gut tells me otherwise.  

Review sites will pop up offshore.  I suspect TER has American owners/assets -- which would explain their precautions. It's not enough to host offshore if you bring profits back into the USA.

Yeah, in the short-term, I will stick to repeating with my favorites, and seeing a few highly-reviewed providers that I haven't seen yet. But without ongoing reviews, even some providers who were highly-reviewed in the past may downhill in terms of quality.

The cloud act does not make the USA ruler of the universe. Firstly it says that US based services have to cough up data even if their servers are offshore.  Secondly foreign govs could always provide the USA gov captured data. The cloud act can't force it.

My goal continues to have steady regulars for my workouts 😜 and level of service would remain the same  (advertising would be more discreet & lots of word of mouth). I am not lowering my rates and as a matter of fact reputable ladies would raise their training sessions.
Screening will be same for me like I always done it ... in fact, I would only take and would give references from reputable providers....(basically the same, in my case).

Really? Hmm. If so that would explain a lot of this.  

No matter what, if TER shut down entirely, some new site would emerge to fill the vacuum.

Until now, many whorehouses were Asian or low-end Latina fasthouses.  Now perhaps things will go back to the model of the 1980s where someone would set up shop in a converted multi-bedroom apartment offering a string of 5 or 6 girls.  It was fun back then, so why not now?

I have been doing more and more of my hobbying in Latin America and elsewhere overseas, and the loss of access to reviews for U.S. providers will push me further in that direction. Even before all of this happened, I preferred hobbying in Latin America for the "meet & greet" aspect, its legality, the greater physical and sexual hotness of the local women (IMHO), the more reasonable prices, the overall travel experience, and other reasons. The only advantages of U.S.-based mongering for me were that I did not have to travel, and the review system held providers accountable and motivated them to provide good service. Now that one of those two remaining advantages is gone, mongering in Latin America and elsewhere overseas is much more attractive, for those that can manage it.

Atlanta used to have some GREAT Brazilian houses that were hardly what I would call "low-end" They would have anywhere from 2-6 girls working at any given time and some of them were really hot. Unfortunately the competing casas would often get into feuds with each other bringing a lot of unwanted heat and then one of the girls made a false claim about being trafficked, which combined with some VERY aggressive local LE attention ended those good old days, but it could happen again.

 
Now that said, they would still have to advertise to gain customers, so unless we are going to go back to the days where you'd find their ads in the Sunday sports section we are probably right back where we started. lol

I had totally forgotten about the sports section ads until you mentioned them. Yeah that was a thing here in Minnesota, too. We also had a couple of free weekly papers focused on local entertainment (mostly reviews of movies, concerts, restaurants, etc.) that had several page of adult ads in the back. At first, it was mostly agencies running ads, but then the indies started posting ads, and then a lot of them moved to online ads.

New England had couple of "SPAs" that were amazing. The best known was "Danish Health Club" in Maine and it was full of good looking strippers from 100 mile radius and it was an amazing facility, but just like any other really fun place it got shut down. Now they built luxury condos in the same location. Every time I hear Kittery Maine the only thing I can think about is DHC.

Most US "hobbyists" have become so reliant on reviews they forget how to interact with a living breathing woman.

 
Two tips for getting what you are looking for and avoiding the non GFE "dead fish" we all rely on TER reviews here in the states to protect us from

 
1)  If you are in a country where it is legal, there is no need to "speak in code" and absolutely no reason to wait until you are BCD before asking her what's on the menu. I know BBBJ is very important to a lot of us and a CBJ is a complete deal killer for many, I hear a lot of clueless gringos whining about CBJ when all they have to do is ask BEFORE agreeing to a date. 2)  I am a huge fan of passionate kissing, in my experience women who won't DFK are most likely going to give a lackluster performance in all other areas. I ALWAYS get a kiss, a REAL one, before agreeing to a date. It's like an "audition" for what's to come IMO. If she sticks her tongue halfway down my throat, we are off to the races, if she turns her face or gives me nothing more than a light peck, I keep moving and find myself another chica.

 
Yes, many of us were getting laid decades before there even was an internet, just because we have become accustomed to "this" way of doing things doesn't mean that we too can't adapt, just like the women here.

You are correct about DFK.  I can tell within a minute after the door closes whether its going to be a good session or a mediocre one, just from the intensity (or lack thereof) of the DFK.  

Growing up in Los Angeles, one of my 1st experiences in mongering was on trips to TJ. I don't speak Spanish, but I have learned enough to order food, stay (mostly) out of trouble, and find a bathroom.

The problem with travel to some idyllic location with legal, cheap and high quality mongering is that you have to travel.  Yes, I'll always inlcude time and funds when I travel to enjoy the locals just as I have been doing for 30-ish years. But I'm not on the road outisde the US that often.

For my part, in order to continue to enjoy the local flavor, I'll go back to pre-internet times and ask my current local ATF's to refer me to other's they know and trust. Not all will do so, though I suspect my porn star providers will be more open to the idea. And a referral is no guarantee of specific service.  But it's going to be better than looking for street walkers - just not going there! And it will be easier (and more "honest") then relying solely on strippers who will go OTC. I was REALLY young, and green of course, living in Austin, TX.  I had just finished high school, living in a small town in Northern MN.   With my desire for some excitement, I decided to move on to find some-anything.   My best friend had already moved to Austin to be with her BF, who was stationed there in the Air Force.  Texas looked pretty good to me, so off I went to find myself.

I lasted a few months at that gig, and will reveal more at another time.  But, the thought came to me when all of this legislature bull came down that maybe we will be renting out houses (wellness centers) like Body Works Massage in Austin, Tx.  Who knows?  I have enough training now.

Those were the old days of this industry.  

Yep. An entity under US jurisdiction doesn't get much benefit out of moving its servers offshore.

However, I'd like to see the U.S. government try to get at a company/servers that are based entirely in Venezuela, using a *.ve domain.

Also, while U.S. prides itself on the transparency of company ownership, that isn't the case in other parts of the world. Tracking corporate ownership in much of South America ends at the name of the company, and it's designated agent (usually an attorney).

That could all change, but it's the current situation, as I understand it.

There are a lot of countries that generally support the U.S., but wouldn't have much interest in helping us go after a business in their country solely because it facilitates prostitution in the U.S.

Every high end provider I know will want to keep more regulars. Lowering our service level will not be an option at all. As far as less safe, d.m for the underground newsletter I started. I hope you best success. I did see a post the other day someone talking about "the list" . It would be nice to see people benefit from such a tragedy.

Big specials? This is what I predicted. Without reviews, providers are going to need to compete on pictures and price, and pictures are less reliable now without reviews to vouch for them. I think the idea of providers starting their own safe site beyond the reach of recent legislation is great, but it looks like Switter isn't the right format. Quality providers were able to make good money because of their reviews.
