This is interesting because I have NEVER thought about it until I saw a post on another board.

I don't think I have ever booked a date with a Provider that charges cancellation fees.  Although I can't be sure because I have only once cancelled a date (and trust me if I could have made the date I would have but I definitely gave 24 hours notice).

Now I FULLY respect that being a Provider is "a eat what you kill business" (no pun intended).  Due to that fact their time literally is $$$$.  So all cancellations should be arranged within a 24 hour period.  Yes, life does happen so if a guy is called away at the last minute he has 2 choices:  A.  Agree to pay the cancellation fee or B.  Never see the Provider.

So to be clear I AGREE WITH CANCELLATION FEES!!!!

Now, let's put the shoe on the other foot (preferably MY foot).  Back in 2007 I was in Atlanta.  I had a pretty good year financially speaking.  Because I have more money than semen I booked 2 dates on the same night.  Yep, I know RT is a real stupid fucker!!!!  But it was the first time I was Hobbying out of town.  And I literally thought I could fuck one Provider at 7PM and another at 9PM.  Now both of these gals were high intensity (i.e., one likes to give BJ's in front of a mirror - and yes every penny was worth it - she was the 9PM appt.)

However, the 7PM appointment literally called me 5 minutes before the date.  I thought she was in the lobby but she WAS NOT.  She simply said in a sexy Brazilian accent "sorry honey can't make it we'll get together next time".  Um OK, I haven't been to Atlanta since and probably will NEVER go again.  

What recourse does a Hobbyist have in such a situation?  Can I demand a discount on my next date?  Am I allowed to post a review? (Answer is no - NCNS can't be reviewed).   Am I allowed to post it on a regional board? (Answer - probably, but then I run the risk of being "gray"listed by Providers)

So my point here simply that there is an inherent bias in this space.  Providers can demand cancellation fees but Hobbyists have NO recourse when the tables are turned.

I unfortunately had to cancel, and yes I did offer a steep discount for the next time, and I also set him up with another provider for the same time slot so he wasn't totally bummed with blue balls. Now will he book with me again? We'll see. I just believe in the karma factor of it all and if I screw someone then they are going to come back and screw me, which I don't want. Screw not in the good way of course!  

Fees, fees, fees... It's P4P I don't know why some take it so damn serious. It's a hustle. It ebbs and flows. Fast money is never guaranteed. Cancellation fees are only as successful as the guys that pay it. She can demand, bitch and moan, about it, but if they guys don't pay it then she is crying by herself. Same with the guys, if you know she cancels all the time and you still book but don't speak up and say hey what do I get since you cancelled guess he is saying it's ok too. Hold someone accountable for treating you shitty for once and a last minute BS cancellation is shitty on either end.

Will never happen. Besides would you want to see a provider that cancelled out on you? I would not. Just find another provider to play with.

If you're lucky Supa Dupa lucky charms lucky. Seriously though, it could with the right soul.

Thinking and desiring a balanced playing field with certain things is not always fair in this environment. I would say the cancellations is one of those things. You know why, so do I and so do most. Most providers have expenses and appointment schedules when travelling, prepare and plan in advance based on their appointments. All that and some come into play. I am leaving out non-travel times but I can see the issue there too for providers I suppose. Just not as much. Not that gents don't have meetings, responsibilities, plans at home, marital duties, and on and on and on. It's just the providers are more vulnerable to a lot of thigs being messed up from cancellations on average. Now with ANYTHING, there are some who are outrageous with their cancellation policies and downright near the point of being just absolutely insane basically. The great thing is....we don't have to schedule an appointment with them if we don't want to. Keep it moving!

The reasonable, humble, understanding portion of my mind would say ok maybe it was a real world mishap or simple yet confusing brain fart. But nah, I still wouldn't be asking for another appointment from her. Nope. Discount or none, wouldn't matter for me. Peace out Baby Scout is what Ize would be sayin. I have screened for a number of ladies who used this method and without resorting to threats which we all know as counter productive, rarely did the situation end well. Providers who cannot or will not use deposits normally resort to this and more power to em but it is not something I would utilize. I cover my ass before a date... Not after.  

As for your end... On the very rare occasion I had to cancel money off or extra time was always offered but here is the fact guys tend to miss...

You were all set to spend money, not make it so if she cancels you saved however many hundreds that would be gone. She is fked all the way around if you were her only date that day. Sorry... How is your new career and the boards have a void that has gone unfilled for quite some time.  I am thinking that in some cases some providers should schedule a regular that might want a slot of time if a "new friend" cancels.   However, if the lady cancels she should do it with considerable lead time.  She should also offer another time and date. Finally, she should offer one of the following: Either more time for the money or a discount for rewarding the hobbyist for patiently patronizing her.

But we have had this argument before. I doubt ether will change the others mind. But time is time no matter who you are and we are loosing out on something we value more than money. This is a fact as we are more than willing to part with with the money to obtain the experience.  

Don't get me wrong I get the loss of revenue stings but such losses are part of any business. I get why a provider charges late fees. I would gladly pay one should I cancel with less than a day before an appointment. Hell, the one time I canceled last second I not only booked again but paid half the value of the canceled date without her asking for it or having a cancelation fee posted.  

But to say your time is more valuable because you are selling it, that is simply not true. Time is time. But I will grant you if and only if you spent money on the date like a room or something you would be out more. But the reverse is also true. You can't count money you have not received like the guy can't count the experience he never received, so you must measure what was lost, and what was lost is time and expences. Expences are variable in each encounter bur the constant is time. We each only have 24 hours is a day. Don't give me the my time is more valuable because I thought I was getting paid crap. Time is time and everyone gets the same 24 hours in a day.

I have so missed you. You have always kept me sane in a world that sometimes makes a gal crazy.  

...it's not as dramatic a difference as you state.  Part of it depends on the individual hobbyst too.  Is he a high volume very experienced guy? or a budget guy who saves and does this only a few times a year after careful planning?  For the latter, trust me, he will remember the bummer of being cancelled on for a long time, much like if you planned a vacation get-away and a hurricane fucked up your plans (and who by the way is impacted more, you or the airline?).  Perhaps another way to think of the equation for this - for which party does the fee represent a higher % of their annual income?  Perhaps the date means more to THAT person on a relative scale.  Maybe 90% of the time this will be the lady, but not always.

And just for the record, these are only out loud musings - I value my reputation in this hobby and have never cancelled on a lady, so I'm in no way trivializing the impact of cancellations.  

Another thing, just a few months into this, I was cancelled on by a visitor at the last minute who I had set up with long in advance.  It sucked (also because she had a very poor excuse which I won't get into).  I remember this feeling much more than the feeling from suddenly needing car or home repairs of quadruple the cost (of course, since I am no longer brand new being cancelled on like this wouldn't have the same effect on me as it did then).  So the "who is impacted more" can be more than just an economic issue too.  And hey, if a lady finds a replacement, she is okay, because it was just a time slot to be filled.  For the guy, you might have been a bucket-list visitor making a rare appearance in his town, and now to get any gratification his only option might be old Mabel down the street!

But hey, I haven't cancelled so far, and will only do so in the future if I have no choice.

And I try and make friends with local or traveling ladies in my area and refer them to other gents whenever possible. I am like a hooker matchmaker almost! LOL! I have no problem giving other ladies business and in turn they send a few my way so it's all good. And yes, I heard confidentially that he had a blast!

I've seen Devin Davette and probably missed that she has such a fee.  I probably would have seen her anyway because I already knew her and like her.
I have cancelled on girls fewer times than I have fingers on one hand, and always because I'd come down with a cold (this happened just recently) or cut myself shaving.  The ladies have always accepted that gracefully and I re-scheduled.  I have never cancelled and not re-booked.
I do recall getting cancelled on by a gal when I was literally 15 minutes from her incall, because she said she got her period.  How do you compensate for sexual frustration?
Anyway, it's a tough call on the best solution and I'm OK with however a girl wants to do it.

He has called me and rambled on the hpone too much and keot changing his appt time and was just a squirelly pest over all. I felt if i were to even deal with this guy and his antics he can pay me a fee for the day he hemmed my entire day up, he changed the apt time so many time I ended up not being able to even d an appt that afternoon.         I would not charge a cancelation fee. Come july I will have a normal job in food service, which i love and look forward too very much.

And if this lady cancels on you by chance, there is a good reason and trust me when I say, reschedule if you can and fast. Don't even worry about a discount!! Tell her thank you for the gesture but it's ok! One of the best companions out there in my humble opinion. She is a gem. I will never forget being able to meet you Tori. Awesome woman. Oh trust me, I know just as many providers who do this for bags and shoes or because they are too lazy or stupid to do anything else and in those cases I can see a little of the value being equal but those are usually the same providers who fk 2 and 3 guys a day several days a week so they are more likely to be able to fill that spot. We do not all have that option I am afraid. Many of us work a real job and enjoy this when time permits. It is really simple math and apparently a moot issue.  IF you put more value on women you pay than your other obligations and responsibilities, that is your own fault. Likewise if the provider puts more value on greed than her family or career... Same thing but that is rare with the women I have met. They really cannot afford to cancel because their appts. are quality on occasion not every day.

I had a two hour appointment with a touring provider scheduled for tomorrow night. On Saturday a legitimate emergency came up that will prevent me from seeing her tomorrow. I would like to see her again and I know that she has expenses. And that she probably turned down some guy for tomorrow night because I had booked her. So I offered to pay for one of the two hours. I have sent her multiple emails and have tried to contact her other ways. I have not heard from her.

I don't know what else to do to set things right.

I had a feeling that's what you would say! I hear you on your sentiments in this message and the other loud and clear now in full. Those contingencies or variables indeed matter for both I think. Even if a lady is doing it for herself solely, she still has more to lose on average in regards to cancellations with just how things are setup I think but yeah surely not all companions main purpose is one of selflessness for their loved ones and if men are using their entire earned incomes or anywhere and I mean anywhere close to it for companionship purposes, it's not very smart nor wise! that cancellation policies are in place to refrain double bookers(those who book multiple girl then pick and choose which one to see and cancel the others) to book dates. I would do have one in place  if I were a providers

Do you get a cancellation fee from a doctor if he cancel the appointment? no, so why would you expect the same from a provider? I have to pay a cancellation fee if I cancel my doctor appointment so I guess I should expect to pay the same to a provider if I cancel in less than 24 hrs from the date.

because often times that times slot has been requested many times. So cancelations especially last minute or NCNS means I missed out on other opportunity.

If I cancel last minute chances are something about the gentlemen's behavior or text was a huge red flag and I do not feel comfortable seeing him.

BUT a normal emergency to cancel YES I am going to offer a discount or other incentive to make up for it.
