Obsession...

I had one situation that turned out bad. I didnt meet this guy on the net. i met him through a friend and he saw me for all types of dates, always donated.. He showed up at my place early in the morning and sat outside. My boyfriend at that time left around 930 and I woke up at ten to someone knocking on my door. I peeked out and saw it was him, so I opened it. I told him I couldn't see him, "what are you doing here?" Is what I probably said. He asked could he just use the bathroom. I said fine then you have to GO. He came out the bathroom asking why I had another man here. He kept repeating it. Finally, he used a negative word about the man he seen leaving. I finally said "yes he was here". He hit me in the face so hard I was knocked back, I dropped my phone. He didn't even give me a chance to explain who the other man was. He left right away, and I called my boyfriend, crying, and told him what happened. He hung up on me! Which kind of hurt my feelings but two minutes later there was a cop,at my door asking me who assaulted me. They found him across the street. I never went to court though, so I heard he got out a couple days later. After that I changed my number.

I still can't go to the McDonalds by my old house. I went there a few months after the incident and he was standing there, staring at me! It was so creepy, like as soon as I came in the room he locked eyes with me and I got a cold shiver down my back. I turned around and walked out.

I am interested to see what other girls have done. I never ever like to inform the police of anything I do, but I couldn't help that my ex called them like that. It bothered me more that he was sitting outside my place watching, than the punch in the face. I'm not gonna lie that hurt too though.

When the hobbiest becomes obsessed with ya?  How do you know he is obsessed?

Guys, what do you do when a provider becomes obsessed with you?  How do you know she is obsessed?

Why ask, I am in situations where when I want someone, it occurs to me that part of the obsession is I want the ones who are unavailable to me!  go figure

Wow Jamie- that's a horrible story! I am so sorry you went through that! Yuck!

Sounds like the guy is one sick person. I hope he gets the mess he needs. Very very creepy that he still lingers around your old place. That's put me right off getting a permanent I call!!

did not expect to get any responses.  You're boyfriend did the right thing, as I might be upset (were I you) to loose a little business, or have the cops learn a thing or two about my biz, but that is a whole lot better than being dead.

What I am getting at is obsessions tend to "grow" is not satisfied, as in wanting the one you can't have!

Am shocked at how few responses my OP generated but am glad you posted/responded as it might make someone else a little more aware!

It was a scary situation. And yeah he was a weirdo, but I got that vibe a few times and ignored it. I am much more careful now!

I'm pretty blunt with people ("Hey Buster, you found me on eros.com and not match.com, etc, etc") so it's never gotten to that point. I learned that with experience.

Once when I was newly independent it ALMOST went too far...the guy seemed to think that, if he consistently chipped away at my 'armor', it would fall off. I kept seeing him because his paycheck was very good, and he never put me in an awkward position (just came close). Just emailed a little too much, etc. When he finally crossed the line, I cut him  off. I didn't handle it the best, admittedly. But he was not a dumbass or a naive kid, and knew exactly what he was doing...trying to manipulate a newbie.

Have a guy I've never seen who keeps emailing me...I responded to his first to tell him 'I can't verify you with that info' lol. Then he keeps emailing me novels (and to say he's in love with me) like 12 times...even changed his email addy. I just ignore...I won't even touch that, even to see him once. He does have references

So why aren't you seeing him if he has the references? Just giving you a bad vibe?

A reference is only as good as the girl who gives it. Some girls will see anyone...even anyTHING. There's a limit to the amount of trust I put in someone else's judgment.

If someone repeatedly emails me 10-paragraph emails with inappropriate content AND stating he's in love...and even changes his email addy when I won't respond...that's someone *I* want to avoid. I don't care if he didn't kill the last girl who saw him (which is pretty much all you can tell from a reference). By my standards, he is the definition of trouble.
