I know I never post anything on GB but I feel this is a good place to get the opinion of the ladies and the men.  

All my communication is by email.

for me personally, that email works just fine. I don't have the luxury to carry a 3rd phone for this place as I have 2 phones as it is. I have had no problem with email only communication. It's quick, fast and easy for me and certainly never deterred anyone from booking simply because they couldn't hear my voice.  

most gals I've met have wanted to talk first and have told me they consider that to be their ultimate form of screening as they can detect trouble from a conversation.

But before we get to that point, I ask for an introductory e-mail with information about the gentleman with his acknowledgement that he has visited my website.  Once we get past the fact that we truly have a chance to meet, I ask them to send me their phone number so I can expect their call. This cuts down on my phone time and let's me do other things. I have my phone programmed to bark like a dog for all calls programmed that I am expecting. It is such a nice feature to know when you can answer your phone.

I'm fine with email and texts. Even in real life, I HATE talking on the phone. I book the appointment via email and a couple days before, I'll text and just say "hi______________, cant wait to see you -(my name)" just so they know I didn't forget about the appointment and so that my number is in their cell phone.

Particularly when dealing with an "older" client (i.e. 40+ if you call that "old") ...  

I won't except an appointment unless I talk to the potential client on the phone. Mainly because I use that conversation I have with people as part of my screening process along with a few other things.  You can tell alot about a person by the way they speak and the words they choose to speak with. I don't have alot of no shows or time wasters and I believe that's because of the phone conversation (s) I have with potential clients. The other reason I insist on talking on the phone is; If they can't trust me with their phone number then I can't trust them in my home.

I don't need to talk to a provider before we meet, unless she wishes to speak to me as part of her screening procedure.  Email or text messaging is fine.  I usually prefer email for making first contact and sending screening info.  Once the formalities are taken care of, then I've often kept in touch via texting or whatever means the particular provider prefers.

You'll see responses that indicate some guys prefer to talk on the phone and others are quite content with email.  In your case, if you like talking on the phone, maybe make it your policy to talk ONLY after an initial email or text.  It's hard to enforce that, though, without removing your number from your TER profile and ads because many won't bother to read your policy on your website.

...but it's usually after the email and verification stuff is done...

I'm fine and probably prefer email for the initial contact and then for the detail planning.
But I do kinda like a voice confirmation the day of.  If nothing else a phone call from the lady alerting me she's on the way....or me calling her to let her know I'll be on time.

I haven't met any prostitutes that wanted to do a phone chat as a screening.  I guess some might want to do that.

If she insisted and I deemed she's worth it I would call her but overall I prefer text.

email. However, once we have a firm date, a quick phone call to "greet" one another can be a nice touch. Not necessary, but nice. I much prefer a phone call for a room number over texting, as well.

I do, however, like a quick phone call per my request with the guy if I'm having trouble feeling out his personality via writing, if we haven't met yet. It's a nice thing to have available. But the guys who demanded a phone call kept me on the phone for an hour or longer. Took me a while to catch on that they were time wasters/manipulators, so that's an automatic "you failed screening" for me.

We're all different LP. Because of serious cell phone issues in the past, my only method of contact is via email. Now I'm the perfect gentleman. In my many years of hobbying, I've never flaked a session, nor been late to a session one time. My references are stellar. Notwithstanding, simply because I don't use a cell phone, 85% of the ladies I contact refuse to see me. I understand them completely, and never think badly of them, but my issues are what they are, so I cannot change. Ironically, those same ladies who turn me down, often complain here on the boards of ungentlemanly conduct, lateness, and of those who don't show up at all without the courtesy of any type of contact to cancel their sessions. It makes me shake my head, because they all turned down the perfect client. It makes me more appreciative of the 15% who trust me enough to work around my issues.  

E-mails are good for the preliminaries, and texts are best for exchanging short messages with people you already know.  But if you are planning a first time meeting...talking with that person on the phone gives you a much better view into her personality, and that is important given the intimate level of contact that our game is about.  Establishing a rapport beforehand with the other person in my experience leads to better outcomes, for both parties.  From my perspective, that seems to be desirable...

Quite frankly, talking on the phone about these sorts of things is never discreet.  Rarely am I in a place where I can actually answer a phone call, but even if I could, I'm not going to be answering the questions the person on the other end is going to be asking.  People on the train, in the grocery store, or in any public place  don't need to hear my conversations.

...but will use the phone if it is required.

to those who replied on board and in pm. I really appreciate the different insights on this topic. For some it doesnt make a difference and with others it really does. This is exactly what I was looking for the different views. I now have a much better idea on what I will be doing in the near future.

but I'm OK with e-mail and I love me some chitchat on the phone.
