But seeing as how they do indeed serve as an easy way to identify someone, hello Photoshop! Now as for myself, I have them edited out of my photos, yes. For some ladies, their focus is making sure LE can't identify them. For others, like myself, its more about just making sure people in our "real lives" don't identify us.

Curiously enough, although a lot of guys will say how much they hate tattoos, and I for one have met many, I have yet to have any guys be totally put off by mine. And mine are quite distinctive. Maybe they were good actors. (Which I doubt, as the cock is the final determining factor in whether or not your partner is attracted to you). I think it depends a lot on whether they are "tasteful", which obviously is a matter of opinion, but also your overall appearance/performance/reputation. I love my suicide girls, modern yet vintage pin-ups, rockabilly girls, etc. But that look is not attractive to everyone.

But as a young/ish provider that has multiple tats, and having been in the business on and off for 10 years, I haven't found it to be an issue. Whatsoever. But again, it also depends on your overall image....

I visited a provider a few years ago that was just what I was looking for, except when she took off her shirt - a big ol' nasty tramp stamp all across her lower back.....really killed the mood for me. What was worse, she was advertised as having NO tattoos. Maybe a better question would be, How do guys feel about providers that neglect to mention tattoos, or piercings (except for ear lobes), or that they smoke? All three are BIG turn-offs for me, but of course, YMMV.

I posed this question years ago ('05, I believe) and got some pretty stern views. I can tell some of the posters are a bit younger now, and since tattoos have widely become more socially accepted, does this mean you guys don't mind it as much?

(and I know many girls dont have them still because they make it easy to identify you)

I have two personal ones which can't be seen clothed. I am not in favor of the great big ones.  Everything evolves. There will be a time when tats are not as acceptable and the people who went crazy may find them to be a career and relationship barrier.

When I was growing up in the midwest in the 50's and 60's (before it was known as the rust belt), the only people with tats were very rough types that you didn't mess with.  Maybe they got them in the service (almost everyone had been in WWII or Korea), or when you got out of prison.  Most of the guys wearing them worked in the steel mills, or machine shops or factories.  As a kid, if I saw someone with a tattoo, it was my cue to get the fuck out of there because most of these guys were a little off and you never knew what might happen.

If a woman had a tattoo in that era, she would have been beyond a skank and into an area where the words didn't exist in the English language.  Maybe a Hell's Angels or a convict's bitch.

So seeing a beautiful woman with some second-rate wannabe artist's idea of artistic expression on their skin is about as sexy to me as getting my dick slammed in the car door.

There is nothing more beautiful than a woman's skin, and reproducing some corny picture you picked off the wall on your back or butt, is just ruining, not enhancing, that beauty.  And now that I'm older, I can assure you they don't get better looking with age.

I believe in personal freedom and think everyone has the right to do whatever they choose with their body, so I don't care if they're covered from head to toe.  But I don't for a minute think a tattoo makes any woman look better and I wouldn't want a date with a woman that had more than just a tiny one.

...and would prefer no tats at all, but they're not a deal-breaker for me.  If the rest of the package is what I want, then I'll overlook a few tats.

I would edit mine out so friends or family wouldn't be able to definitely identify me should they find their way somehow to an ad of mine!

I didn't have any before, but I have taken a couple years off and now I do! They are all very personal and unique, but for that reason, I am displeased with how they flow together and I feel I should get something to give if more of a "put together" theme.... I am worried, however, that some may not appreciate me being "inked up" so to speak, especially because my preference seems to run toward the older guys! I'm in a crucial dilemma about it! None are on any unorthodox areas as of now, just arms and just on my pants-line, but I would like to get some filler without scaring off my guys!

Major consideration is is order, in order to find a nice balanced medium to satisfy both those needs-- I dont wanna feel tacky or turn anyone off!

P.S.- I looooove Suicide Girls! My favorite photo shoots I have done are all my pinup themed ones....

But a few small ones aren't that big of a deal. I just don't like those ones that run all up and down the lady's arm or leg or some shit like that. You know, from the wrist to the shoulder, or from the knee to her hip.

I dig what matt said, though, about putting a decal on a piece of art.

But like a lot of things, I guess it's a form of expression, and if the ladies are happy with it, who are we to say? You don't have to see them if it offends you that much.

I don't like them. They are like graffiti on a masterpiece yes they could be interesting but nowhere near as interesting to look at as what it covers up.

I'm not against a bit of art. For me, it doesn't take away from the experience. If you have the physical features I am looking for in a provider, then let's have fun!

But that's just me.  LIke I said, the guys I knew that had tats growing up, some of whom worked for my Dad, were a rough lot, so those associations run deep.

For example, two of them thought it was the funniest thing in the world to swerve their car off the road to kill dogs walking along the side of the street.  I saw this happen twice.

Well, there are tats and then there are tats.  While I don't love tramp tags or extensive tatooing, and agree that a woman's unadorned skin is a big part of her beauty, a couple of small tats don't bother this north-of-60-guy at all.  My wife is nearly 55 and has an adorable little honey-bee on her left shoulder.  She's fascinated by the creatures and has a bit of a sting herself.  I'd get one myself but never could figure out anything I'd like on me permanently.  If I ever do, I'll get one in a heart-beat even though they were really "low end" when I was a kid.

The conversation always ends up on my tats and/or theirs at some point. In many cases they tell a story about the person wearing them. Mine do. But if you inked some stupid shit on you, you're gonna get talked about...bad. LMAO

teens are dreaming of the day when they can get one and people in their 40's are also getting their bodies decorated. It's getting harder to find someone who doesn't have a tatoo under 35.

Being in this profession you realize real quick who has the money and what generation they grew up in. They are parents who are trying to turn their children and grandchildren off to doing  what you wish them to find sexy.

10 years ago tattoos gave the feeling of a bad boy or girl, a nonconformist but now they are mainstream and very desirable to their generation. Money changes hands and the men who have money die off.  10 years from now there will be more men searching out for tattoos on TER instead of using this feature to eliminate ladies.

That is bait and switch in my book. Same if they claim not to have them. Piercings are in the same category and a even bigger turn off. Tattoos and piercings are not a deal breaker even though they reduce the ladies attractiveness, but lying about them is. I don't reward fraud. Now if they blur or cover them for privacy reasons that is OK. As long as they are honest about them.

It's a delusion for a woman to think that tattoos make them more attractive. They're a desecration of your body. What makes you attractive is what's naturally there. I much prefer people without them.

In everything you do, there is taste, class and beauty. When you make your body look like graffiti on the subway or like dilapidated city wall in East LA, you destroy all three. Now you can figure it out for yourself.

I have no issues with seeing someone or been seen with someone with taste, classy and beauty. I will not see or be seen with a walking graffiti. Same goes for Goth look, I don't get it, won't get it and don't want to.

...i've always hated tatoos on women (i'm in my 50's) ...i've espcially never understood tatoos on your back since you never see them. do you think a guy needs something interesting to look at when he has you bent over the sink in the bathroom at the club? maybe a tic-tac-toe diagram to pass the time till you're finished....

I don't dare get anyones' name, except children, and that would be much later on! And I dont have a tramp stamp", anything cliche like cherries, dice, or dolphins, and I don't consider mine tacky; none are huge pieces either-- but I DO have them, now, and I would HATE for my great record to be damaged because of them.

Well, the damage is done (so to speak), and I do not regret any of them, I just hate to think of them as a career setback.

Like one person said, like graffiti on a National Park.  It's hard to believe someone with a nice body would clutter it up with supposed art.  And as bad as they look on someone young, they will be truly hideous in 20, 30, 40 years.  I would pay extra for a provider with no tats......
