I try to do workouts that burn about 1,000 calories in an hour workout which I think is decent at my advanced age of 55, but I see these old fat people walking on a treadmill at barely 3 mph on a level incline, or even downhill in some cases that barely burn 100 calories in the twenty minutes or so they spend in the gym. 100 is barely two bites out of a jelly roll, or maybe half a beer. WTF???

but like you said, at least they are at the gym, which is a start.

I've decided to be Asian this week, all week, until Saturday night! At least I'll be Asian until 9 PM every day. So, this week I'm like you guys! It's fun, though I haven't left the house yet. I plan on sticking to my own neighborhood today, then tomorrow I'll drive down to Chinatown! I'm going with being Chinese, not just generically Asian.

These people did not wake up one day the size of a double wide. They worked hard at it. Shoveling in tons of processed fatty food and some days they can consume enough calories to feed a small African nation. Did they not see what was happening?

My med school has a fitness center and is a visual smorgasbord.  There's one trainer who I have had to physically restrain myself from telling that should could make a lot more money as a dominatrix.
There's a woman about 45?  who has the body of an 18 year old.  Watching her work out is like poetry.  She's obviously done it for years and the stretches and positions are so smooth.  She's incredibly flexible and would be a premium spinner.  No ring.  I fantasize about her providing sometimes in between sets.

It is a fact that diet is a huge part of obesity, you find very few fat Asians in their home countries, but get them over here and get them hooked on fast food and calories will beat out genetics almost every time.

FWIW, I eat fast food maybe once a month at most, and some fast food like McDonalds I won't eat ever, not even on a dare.
