For those of you who are anti-deposit, what are your thoughts on nominal deposits in the $20-50 range? I know a few providers who ask for a very tiny deposit to ensure that their time isn’t being wasted without scaring off clients that are anti-deposit. I personally don’t bother with this because $20-50 isn’t really enough to ensure that a potential client is serious.

These are the only kind of deposits I am okay doing. And, she still needs to be reviewed well. My range is a little higher. I can go up to $100, but at that amount needs a stronger review presence. I get why providers want them, but scammers want them even more. So, for me to take a chance, I need some assurance.

To your question and I have a few thoughts. Sure I'd do the $20-50 range if it was some who really caught my eye. but I'd be aliitle concerned if she wasn't reviewed and where did I find her ad, what site. If it was say MOJO, or LC...then I wouldn't bite.
But I don't think a young lady, who's' rate is in the 6-800 range would ask for a min rate deposit, I could be wrong but I can't see it, asking for a deposit in that ballpark. Just seems like a petty money grab., And if she did ask, for some reason I'd see that as a red flag in away. An act of desperation...maybe.

Seems to me this practice has become the norm now. Common practice amongst pros. And the reason is because you can. And you can because men are quite frankly, stupid enough.

Similar to my reply on the other deposit thread - if I knew the provider was legit, I wouldn’t mind at all.  

I started requiring deposits when I became the head of household, so if I leave the house my time needs to be accounted for and the deposit guarantees that.

QB, if I was going to see you, I would probably break my rule and give a larger deposit. You have been around awhile, are very well reviewed, and you are very active on these boards. But you're the exception, not the rule. Not many ladies in this business are ones I would feel comfortable taking such a risk on. I can swallow the risk on a smaller amount, but it would take an extremely rare lady like you for me to consider a larger risk.  

it's like reserving three seats at a four-person table at a club so you don't have to sit with somebody of a lower socio-economic status.  It's a throwaway.  If you book for $50 and then don't go because you got a better offer at the last minute, you fulfilled your obligation by letting her keep the deposit, but what can she do with $50 to make up for the lost time?  Treat herself to a foot massage at the mall?  

I won't speak for others but for me sliding a price range window, does nothing.

Having to "sit with somebody of a lower socio-economic status" has always been my worst nightmare.

I Require a $100 deposit to schedule a session with me because it shows that the gentleman is “Invested” in showing up & prevents last minute cancellations. My time is valuable & so is my Clients time So it ensures that both parties have an agreement set & good to go. In the Bigger picture $100 is a small amount for A lot of Pleasure & Joy the Gentleman will receive on our date. I Also Agree that the Client has a responsibility to Make Sure that the Provider is Well Reviewed before he sends the funds to her.
