if you have been in places no one else would ever want to be, under siege, in a village where you never know when the ground will explode or gun fire will come from the small home with the little lady sitting out front. When a car comes barreling at you when it is supposed to stop. When people holding up their purple fingers and just the next month are no longer living. When you have to sit in a tank in a sand storm in the middle of unfriendly territory and no one can come to help - for a month - When children carry makeshift explosives to the transport vehicles....
Have a plan.............  
I think war is bad and I am kind of a hippie-dippie but I think our military are super brave people.

By and large, United States Marines are the bravest and most awesome fighters in the world.  When I was running taxi service for them in Vietnam, I couldn't help but see the professionalism and heroism each and every one of them displayed, both going in and coming back out.  I couldn't be prouder.

My dad was there, horrible! Never the same from the time he returned until he died ☹  

My sister was working with some kids and they were putting together care packages to send to my son and his buddies in Iraq or Afghanistan ...forget which one at the time....
/So she told this one group that they were making cards to send to the Marines. half the cards  were American flags and and stars - the other were drawings of boats and fish!
