I passed by a United for Peace and Justice demonstration tonight whereon the "demonstrators" were against the Israelis acting "disproportionately".  Hezbollah? They had no comments against them.  Just the damn, filthy, money grubbing, coniving, conspiring stinking Jews are to blame.  Nothing changes.

I was recently accused of being an anti-Semite along with several other scatological references merely for not siding 150% with the Israeli POV.

 It's becoming extremely perilous to be an agnostic consumer of petroleum products, or the mercantile/professional industries in general.

Not all Arabs or Muslims are terrorists.  Just like not all Jews are guilty of the murder of Lebanese women and children.

I think we all need to be able to distinguish between extremists and the peace-loving majority of any ethnic/religious group.

That is the most sane comment I have heard in a very long time.  Thank you.  I am so tired of all of the chest thumping on all sides.

There are trecherous and exemplary people of every ethnicity. We need to stop pegging these human beings into one category.

Civilians who cooperated with Hezbollah or even were inactive while Hezbollah  carried out attacks on Israel ARE COMPLICIT with this activity!

Well- I think perhaps a clear pointing out to the Arab (NOT MUSLIM-Indonesians don;t seem to have the weird view of history) world that they have brought every debacle on themselves by their behaviour- might be a good idea.

They are somehow allowed to persist in a world view of denial of their own misdeeds and missteps that puts the blame elsewhere- and not squarely on their own heads where it belongs...

I'm usually a liberal and I possess a degree in Colonial History, so I know the history a bit better than some others.  The whole culture of the Middle east , when it comes to relations with the west is in a parlous state- far from the reality of grimy little countries with dysfunctional societies.

There's plenty to go around.

The only point I wish to make is that peoples should not be stereotyped, and the point of view of others should not be dismissed, even if we do thing is misguided.

I believe that only through understanding will any type of world peace and stability ever come about.

War is fine in certain circumstances and we do need to defend ourselves, but other avenues should always be considered first.

As to the Indonesians, I think the folks on Bali may not agree with your assessment of Indonesian views, at least the ones who like to plant bombs.
