I could never afford giving jewelry to a special lady of my heart, like my ex-ATF before she became ex and eloped for example. Also Jared and Kay's are franchise wannabe's that seem to spend more of their operating capital on these
brainwashing commercials.  

The Holidays remind me of an entitlement program. (eoJesusWaSaLiberalM)

When I did have a real wife (relationship, emotions, sex, good times), I got her well-planned gifts for all sorts of things: birthdays, Christmas, anniversary of our first date, anniversary of my first BJ , etc. Not jewelry, as she didn't care about that.

I really feel that during the holiday period there is nothing like enjoying the season with a true soulmate and not a woman that I must leave a wad of cash in an envelope to play along with the GFE. This is a business transcation and nothing more. This is not friendship or any real realtionship if money must be exchanged in an envelope.

And when I want company, I get company. A man pays for it either way, might as well pay for it directly and then she or I leave, sans the bullshit.

Nats fan is brilliant! He doesn't have to have arguments, or listen to the bullshit that he'd have to deal with if he had a SO. Brilliant, he gets laid how he wants, when he wants and with whom he wants and then she leaves. Brilliant!

Somewhere, a marketing exec just read your post and cried real tears of joy.

It wouldn't make me sad, it more makes me think, "Really? THAT much for a stupid ring?" I would so lose or ruin it. Outside of this, I'm such a tom boy. I dress cute and girly, but always get my clothes dirty. Hell, I'll wash my car in a dress. I'll take the $15 sterling silver ring instead, lol.

Really pisses me off!  You mean if we don't pay her with your stinkin jewelry, you aren't even getting a kiss.  Isn't that the same as Pay for Play?  Well, if someone really likes you, you won't have to be bribing her.  And if she doesn't a bribe will only confuse the situation.
