So it just dawned on me that I may be pronouncing the names of both this review site as well as an alternate review site wrong!  So it's common knowledge that everyone uses the acronym of TER in place of theeroticreview.  I saw a provider in my AO the other night and I was saying TER, but the way I pronounced it she was confused and initially did not know what I was talking about. I have always pronounced it so TER sounds like TIER.  Maybe I have been misguided but no-one has corrected me thus far until now.

But at least you can get a good laugh out of it now. Very funny!

Everyone I know just pronounces the three letters together like T.E.R.

Just like with:
U-S-A instead of "you-sah"
I-R-S instead of "erhs"
C-E-O instead of "see-o"

But other acronyms can be pronounced as words like: SCUBA, NOAA, NHTSA.  I'd guess it's whatever seems to roll off your tongue and other folks recognize.

I've tried saying TER as "tehr" but it doesn't feel right.  Never thought about the "tier" pronunciation you mentioned.

A newbie girl called it "ter" to rhyme with "her" last week and I cracked up. No right or wrong answer but i was still mused at her pronunciation.

Sometimes girls look at you like you are a dick poster when you say "LE" and not say "LEO" and pronounce it like the man's name.

Oh the problems I have by nailing to young ones. LULZ!

One of them was talking to me about the email site AOL and pronounced it "Ayol." So I called him an A-hole.

The few times I have spoken TER (to hostesses, bookers or phone girls), it is T E R (tee ee are).

When you write TIER, is that like "I went fishing off the end of the pier" "teer"?
Or is it, "Someone who ties things up is a tier" "tie er"?

Without an official TER orthography, it's hard to convey pronunciation in our ears to words - symbols on the written page.  We just try to expand and compare with other words, in context.

I'm sticking with Tee Ee Are.

I must say though, I believe this is a new topic.
Congratulations for posting something that probably has never been posted here before.

By the way, how do you pronounce P411? :D

POTUS? Of course if the folks at TER used periods, then I would pronounce each letter, like U.S.S.R. There doesn't seem to be any hard and fast rule.

So of all the names and labeling in this profession. Men calling providers hookers etc, calling a reviewing site TER or TIER and not T. E. R is a pet peeve???? I find that funny

Who do you talk to about TER? You mentioned a provider, but you set up on email or text, and why talk about stuff like review sites when at a session?

Saying "as soon as possible," some ppl say ASAP and some say A.S.A.P.  I thought it was a minute observation. Take into account that we substitute the pronunciation of how we say things all the time and never think twice about it, Canine, we in our mind and how we spell it is K-9, two different things. I guess it's just a product of a Government background where we take words and pronunciate them to make them flow easier.  Instead of saying T E R, it's easier to say TER (Tier). Before more English professors chime in, might I add that we use several same word spellings to mean different things. Tear, means to rip something, while Tear can also mean to cry. Lead, the act of guiding someone or something, while Lead also describes a type of chemical in paint. To each is own I suppose.

Did you seriously just post that as a question? Oh I don't know, maybe when they say "so how did you hear about me?"

And it's one thing the John and the gal tend to have in common. I think it would be odd if Ter didn't come up in some fashion, especially if it is a longer date or someone that you see more than once.

No harm talking about TER or other review sites during the session. It is very, very common.

Men who deem it necessary to refer to professional escorts/courtesans  as  hookers,  ho's, prostitutes,  cock suckers  et cetera.  Just writing it  pisses me off.  There,  now it has been said.  I mentioned the ter peeve because that's what this thread was about.  Forgive me  sir.

about the president of France. I have never spoken the word "potus" in my life, and never wrote it until just now.

Even if someone does decide to turn TER into a word, I don't see how the pronunciation would be "tier."
I find it all very weird.

...like TER, RCA, NBC; if it's 4 or more, like NATO or NASA, say it as a word.
