I can't remember if it was the Department of Labor or the Insurance industry, but I always get a chuckle outta sterilized terminology like "recordable injuries" or the below thread on "currency instensive money".  SOunds like it comes from the movie Brazil.

This was the term used by the NASA mission controller right after the space shuttle Challenger exploded in midflight.

Musician Keith Lebland created a musical piece about the whole incident which he entitled "Major Malfunction".

It has a certain understated charm.
