Okay, I'm a very patient person, but if I give you specific directions to my place and the attachement (for some reason) doesn't come through, don't wait until 5 p.m. (the designated time to meet me) to email me because you're not bright enough to go to TER where you found me to begin with to find my phone number (which I already gave you). No offense, but I have a set schedule and you being an hour late does not cut it when you've already stretched the boundaries and I've taken sooooooo long to verify you. Plus, I wouldn't have even known this guy was at some store waiting to hear from me if I hadn't gone to my email account to check to see why he was so late. I would have never heard from this guy.

This is not to be mean, but I needed to post this so other people would be more organized and hopefully not let this happen to someone else. Some really need to heed this message and take it seriously. I have something I have to do later tonight (a family thing), so don't say to me when you've already booked two hours, "Oh, well maybe I should only do one hour then since I am already so late."  Honey, this is a business. If you book two hours, then abide by it, please.

Now, most of you know my sense of humor, so don't blast me if you're new to this board. There have been many posters lately who are just plain rude. I am, however, giving it straight up for newbies or anyone who takes this business seriously. I am not sitting at home all day, with makeup already on, waiting with my legs spread apart for the next client. I set specific times, go into detail about the experience you will have with me and give great directions (nothing left to the imagination). If you don't get something from me by email three days in advance with my written correspondence telling you, "Please email me ASAP if the attachment doesn't come through," don't you think you should email me right away or call me so you can find me?

Geez! Any brain surgeons out there!  Too funny, but annoying!  :)

Hugs,
Ciara

It really sucks when people aren't appreciative of others time.  Getting lost is better than a simple blow off, but you've said in the past that your location takes a little effort to find.  Presumably anyone that's taking the plunge would know that, and should be prepared.

Maybe it's just a rite of passage thing for newbies.  Ya know, do stupid things, get bitch-slapped, and hopefully learn.

Ciara, you do give great directions.
Unless you are a complete direction challenged twit, your directions are clear, direct, concise, and very easy to follow.
Why anyone would not have your phone number, which I also know you give them, is another mystery.

Newbies.....we've all been there, but come on, a bit of common sense goes a very long way.

Just my opinion...

Luckily, I have already joked with him on the phone to make sure he doesn't get lost. I told him to prepare for his private flogging. :)

And I was once sued for opperating on the wrong side of a patient's brain. But it wasn't my fault. Someone once opperated on the wrong side of MY brain.

Anyway, I'd love to feel your frontal lobes !!

but edit for a little more tact for that board, which is meant to help rather than attack newbies

If I didn't know better, I'd say you're on a rant, lol. Some guys are just mentally challenged when they think with their dicks. You know Ciara, all the blood flows out of our brains and down to the appendage. If it happens too early, we forget to write down phone numbers, we forget how to read maps, we leave our GPS units on the table, we forget to charge our phones, we forget the passwords to our email accounts, we forget the provider is on the clock, we forget to hit the ATM before we see the provider... It's really a sad state of affairs to be a man these days...

I'm a newby, but if I was in your area and set up a meeting, getting to you would be all that I would be thinking about. Your number in cell phone and Palmpilot and your address in my in car's navigations system. Why, because you're so hot and I'm so nervous. In the Navy we called it "Idiot Proofing," because bad things happen when you are nervous and/or not mindful of the task at hand.

Hi Ciara, love your sense of humor, have thought about seeing you for sometime. Now I know I should. How do I qualify to get attached directions.

If I'm doing outcall and I even think I'll be five minutes late (because of traffic) I let him know. But hey, this guy and I had a good laugh over it. I bet he never does that again. :)

screening for the neronally challenged...  Try to find hobbiests with IQs higher than 2....  that should do it!

Wow....  I have to say.... at least my excuses (actually real resons for calling to say I would not make it) were totally stupid (lost keys, lost ATM card).  My late excuses however, are totally because I had the man-itis...  ya know, can't seem to call for directions even when totally lost...

Perhaps the dudes are smitten and cannot concentrate on the rules, directions and instructions!  lol!

first time, I called when nearly there, had plugged her address into my gps navigator- right as she answered, the navigator started talking- she thought it was an LE radio she was hearing... had to do some fast talking!

second time, was heading for a standard two call visit- got half way there, realized I had left my cell phone that I had plugged her number in to back on my desk- no way to get a hold of her for the second call.  (call info and give her provider name .... right!)  Was shitting in my pants, turned around to go get the cell phone knowing I'd be late and couldn't call till I got my phone, then happened to feel my pocket--- duh the phone was in there!  Made it on time.

Like one of the other posts says, newbies can have all the blood in anywhere but their brain!

She e-mailed me with her phone number to call her when I get to the corner of [x} and [y]. I put it in my speed dial, and called her when I got there. Unfortunately, there was a typo in the number she gave me, and I didn't bring along my computer where I could have lookup up her website for the correct info. So I'm thinking: "where's the nearest library"?

Fortunately, I had given her my cell number, and she called me to say she was running a few minutes late.

I always make sure I have instructions the day before a date on what to do the day of the date. That also helps to confirm that the lady hasn't had something else come up and needs to reschedule.

that would probably limit my appointments greatly. Just kidding. Actually, the guy was very nice and we joked about it, but I did want to post on the board so others might take heed and be more careful and considerate.

which is why i find it difficult to understand other people's difficulties...

right now - I am dealing with a person who fails to understand what is clearly requested of him....

I'm not sure it's the newbie syndrome. There seems to be a general lack of common sense these days.

I look at people sometimes and just think oh goodie, there will be new Darwin Awards this year. I'm amazed by the sheer dumb luck of people sometimes... how they don't get killed 100 times a day is beyond me.
