Personally, I think you should just take it as a compliment that he thought you were attractive or nice enough to ask out.  The guy was being a Good Samaritan by offering to help, and probably thought he might not see you again so he made the move.  Most guys let the opportunity slip by and just wish they had tried later.

Tonight I went to the gym and had a brief workout...  Maybe 45 minutes.  As I left the gym, I saw that my car had been broken into.  Glass was everywhere.  :(

So, Im standing next to my car, teary eyed....  I look like a sad puppy.  

At least 5 guys came up to me, asking if they could do anything or help.  (No women offered any help.)  One guy offered to wait with me until the police arrived.  I said yes, and of course, while he waited with me, he took that opportunity to ask what I was doing this weekend.  "Wanna get a drink after this?" bla bla.   Yeah.  Im really in the mood to drive to a bar sitting on shattered glass.

Anyway, do guys see a damsel in distress as an opportunity to hit on a woman?  

I think I already know the answer.

Hi,

I helped a young lady by offering her my cell phone to call her mom  when she locked herself out of her condo!! I didn't hit on her  I just was a good samaritan!! ;o)

He's a guy and therefore doing what guys do, helping in the hopes of sex. Chris Rock has a skit on this...hilarious. I get asked if I need help starting my hog and I reply thank you I don't want to fuck you...for free, but here's my number to book an appointment. Sometimes it works, other times they just cry and walk a way...yes another broken heart.

If after all the sturn and drang of the incident is over, she made a coy gesture (Can I buy you a cup of coffee?) then maybe I'd go there.

On the other hand, I'm trying to keep civie stuff out of my life these days and stick to the tried and true.

But you know what they say about men, don't you?

If you mean the brown envelope posters...yea, I think they speak loudly here.

And that saturn and hotplants speak the loudest...and now hotplants is flipping as a john...wow!!

And saturn looks to be in awe of that hotplants...so I just am amazed at those two.  But heck, they're just playing on here...right?

I seem to recall that those two have serious board presences on many other sites...or so I am hearing.  Mostly gay ones...but they try the straight ones as well.

So are those the "they" you are referring to?

I have not been on another site for ever...and you can speculate all you want. I will never admit to anything you or anyone else "thinks". So, waste your time believing who I am and chatting among your cronies, I don't much care love. You could say I was anyone and I will still deny it...;).

Since 4 out of the 5 guys offered to help without hitting on you I wonder how the answers you got fit with your expectations.

The last time I recall helping a motorist in need was when a fat, sleazy looking old guy pulled into a McDonald's in an old piece of junk car and as he opened the door and started to get out he just fell back in the seat and appeared to be unconscious. I waited a minute or two to see if he was going to get out and then thinking he might have had a heart attack or something I went over and asked if he was okay. He said he was but thanked me for asking.

I did not hit on him.

So if it had been me in the parking lot I'm pretty sure I would have offered to help but I would not have hit on you. If you are a pretty woman and wanted to hit on me after helping - well dreams do come true sometimes.

Too right!  And far too women are interested in the deal —which is exactly why ladies can charge hundreds of dollars [and more] for an hour of their company and the willingness to say yes.  And why there even exists a TER.
