Last june. The man i met on craigslist wanted to be my manager and show me the tricks of the trade. My first appt was an hr with a nice Asian man... he said it was his first time and it was mine too, but i said I've been doing it for months ;) we finished and i split the 175 three ways, and I got to keep one third.

This memory encapsulates all the reasons why I became independent. I hope your memories are more enjoyable.

I once helped a provider get started but didn't ask her for ANYTHING.  I referred her to a bunch of other clients, but in the end, she got greedy and kept asking me for more referrals after this.  And she kept shaking me down to see her every time she came into town, which really left a bad taste in my mouth after I said nicely, "I don't have the funds."  That wasn't entirely true, but it was nicer than saying, "Look, I fucked you twice before, and you're not worth the money To ME that you're charging."

Bravo to you for being an independent provider.  Splitting the $175 three ways is insane, though.

Did he give me my name? Only the last name, because it gels so well.
Did he give me TER? No, a client did.
Did he give me money? No, he took my hard earned money.
Did he give me clients? No, my personality gives and helps me maintain those.
Did he give me bruises? No, he was very verbal but never physical.

And he also indirectly contributed to the loss of my job, house, and car by introducing me into the lifestyle. It was only after I left that agency that I was able to profit from what I learned (mostly by experience, not teaching), get my life back, and more. So please, do not compare apples to oranges, you are a hobbyist, he was a pimp. You probably saw said provider, said hey provider, here have some clients, and she continued from there. You did not say hey girl, wanna BE a provider? I'll help you out of what you're in girl, you're gonna get paiiiiiiiid. This is what you do and this is what you give me. Of course there is a trial period, being new and all, so we have to run specials to get people to call you. And you won't make more than a third because you get paid, I get paid, and the business gets paid so we can keep up with your pics and ads.

I am just being honest, and as you can see many ladies have not responded, probably because their first provider experience wasn't all that great! This question is definitely for the guys.

A girl who wants to be a provider can either study everything she can on these boards and try to get others to give her info and then strike out on her own as an indie, or she can go with an agency and let them do the work and give up a fairly substantial cut.  That's just the way it goes.

if someone helps you, then that someone should be compensated.  Simple as that, really.  If you think that you can do better, then find a better off and do that.

I don't know about your situation in particular, but thanks for supplying some details so I get a better idea.  You don't need to explain yourself to me, though.  And I'm sorry for the bad experience.

All I can say is that when I helped a girl out, it ended up being more trouble than it was worth.  I didn't ask for money, and I just wanted to help her out by referring her to some clients I knew that she would probably get along with.  The problem is...she took an inch and expected a mile, figuratively speaking.  I gave her a few referrals, and that turned into her EXPECTING I would refer more people.  And that was just uncool, especially since I wasn't getting paid for this (and I'm not a pimp, so I didn't want money).  I also wasn't really into her that much, though we did have two sessions.  I felt like she expected me to see her every time she came into town, which wasn't kosher.

As far as your situation...well, I don't know if I agree with this statement:

"And he also indirectly contributed to the loss of my job, house, and car by introducing me into the lifestyle."

I mean, unless you were FORCED to do this, how does that happen?  You made the choice to do this, no?

The girl I met was already a provider who wanted to go indie.  I'm not saying my experience was yours at all, so please don't take it that way.

I don't know, however, if this is a question for the GUYS.  The question is clearly aimed at the girls.  I just responded because you mentioned something that was relevant for me to post on, that's all.

I had to deal with running one, I decided it would be a hell of a lot easier to make that money doing it myself from time to time. My first day, was not all that great. It was actually Valentines Day and I was single (just got divorced from my second), and did not do incalls at that time. It was very scary going to some random hotel and standing at the door knowing some guy was judging me through the peep hole.

I wondered if he would leave me standing there, or think I was cute enough to let in lol. He was nothing like the clients I can see today, I will say that. It was seedy and a bit rushed on his part, not what I would call gfe. He did tip me 100 and talked to me after this first nut, and that was all he wanted.

I took another call about two hours or so after and since I knew nothing about etiquette, I raced home to take a bath vs. doing it in the next client's room. Again, another lonely guy for V day just needing company. There was no kissing, daty, or any of the sort. It was a bbbj, cfs, and done. He tipped me as well, which was nice, but I could never see myself doing 2 clients like that in a day again.

I like charging more, and working less. I also value the power I have as an indy and agency owner because I can pick and choose clients who call the agency, and decide if I want to market myself to them or give them to another girl.

What brought me to this business? Wanting to further my education because my first degree would only benefit me in an area like Chicago, NYC or Paris lol, and a bit of being lazy. I did not, and still do not want to work 50 hours a week to make what I can make in 4.

And in my situation, I didn't ask for any compensation.  I was just doing it to be nice, and tell her some of the pitfalls she should want to avoid.

In no way is this a case in best practices.  It's just me telling about that one experience.  I'm not at all saying that this way is a "better" way or whatever.  And my response was to her post, which seems to also be an outlier.  Especially when she blames him for her losing her job, etc.  Unless he put a gun to her head and forced her into this, that's just plain unbelievable.

So, while I appreciate your story and experiences, please don't even begin to suggest that I am trying to say that my experience is a case study as to how to do things.  It was not, and your post certainly suggested that.

A question was asked, and I answered.  I didn't expect to get my shit all jumped up as a result of it.  I didn't say that I was an expert, and so in that sense, you are putting words in my mouth, no?

As they say, no good deed goes unpunished, and that's exactly why I will never involve myself in a provider's business again.  I simply just don't give information anymore, because there is no upside and plenty of downside.  It's just better to shut up, pay the fee, enjoy the session, and then say nothing.

By the way, you should get a new computer.  Notebooks are a mere $400 or less.

I was dating a guy for about 6 months and found out he was seeing escorts almost daily. I had googled one of his aol screen names and a review that he had written on TER came up. We broke up over his controlling behaviors and, of course, the escorts. I had been aware he was with other women sporadically, and although it did bother me that wasn't a problem. The putting himself at risk seeing these random backpage losers who were clearly crackheads upset me, as well as the amount of money he was burning through. That and he was opening himself up to acquire amd pass an STD clinched the breakup.

A few weeks later after worrying about money, I had an epiphany. If those idiots were being successful, why couldn't i? I was insanely nervous, but luckily I had come across TER and did many weeks of researching. I ordered several books, two of my favorite being The Business Side of Escorting II(written by a CPA) and The Internet Escort's Guide series.

Luckily for me, my first client was a guy that just came back from Iraq and when I met him at the door I was shocked at how smoking hot he was. We ended up chatting for a good 45 minutes before I got up the nerve to make a move. A set of six pack abs is a great way to get introduced into the P4P lifestyle, LOL.

Did you go back and apologize to the boyfriend, since you were now doing the same things that you criticized him for?

He was living a lie that directly affected her.

She had no obligation to him, and she had every right to enter into the business.

Her main point made to break up in any case was his controlling behavior, not his out of control behavior.

The guy must have been a cross between a Rockefeller and Peter North.

But find it hard to believe that he *indirectly* contributed to the loss of my job, home, and car. So here, I'll explain a little more, and note this:

in·di·rect   [in-duh-rekt, -dahy-]  Show IPA
adjective
1.
not in a direct course or path; deviating from a straight line; roundabout: an indirect course in sailing.
2.
coming or resulting otherwise than directly or immediately, as effects or consequences: an indirect advantage.
3.
not direct in action or procedure: His methods are indirect but not dishonest.
4.
not straightforward; devious; deceitful: He is known as a shady, indirect fellow.
5.
not direct in bearing, application, force, etc.: indirect evidence.

And I ask you note that because I am not placing full blame on him and he did not FORCE me, but he indirectly contributed.

a) He was in charge of advertising, My job discovered ads on backpage and with incriminating evidence (photos) asked me to leave - being young and scared of what they might do I agreed.
b) No real job? Who am I working for now... him! 24/7. And how much am I making? 1/3... Oh yeah, no shit I was out of a house and car very soon. Then luckily my student loans pulled through and I was able to get on my own again and then begin providing independently.

At that point I had a restraining order because he enjoyed sitting outside my apartment and harassing my room mate. And an apology didn't occur to me and I'm not sure it applies. He was a crazypants.

extent of what it is like to be controlled or pimped. Doing what you are told or risking the alternative, is not exactly a "choice." Run...get beat. Don't work...get beat. Yea, that's a choice alright. The choices some of these girls have to make are for survival, and I would never mock such things. We have all done things and been in positions we wish we could change...ALL of us.

No use talking about this further with her.  There's no communication on either of our part.

This was a post for girls to give their situations on why they began providing. You accuse me of blaming him for bad shit, you say its my fault too, and you ask for reasoning and I give it and you say well damn live with it? Obviously I am! Made the best of a bad situation too and am doing much better! If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all... your comments are flooding straight out of your asshole. Asshole.
