I've posted several times in the past about marijuana and the conspiracy between the FDA and the pharmaceutical industry to keep this miracle medication illegal for the financial gain of the giant corporations who market prescription medications.
Getting "high" means heightened awareness. Isn't that a good thing?
well if it does indeed highten Your awareness...then there are those like myself, who need to be sat in a corner and require adult supervision when ever they have smoked pot. It's been a while for me( about 16yrs or so) so who knows it may be a different turn out but I doubt it. I get totally lost in the basics of anything. A commercial on TV is amazing to me. I am just not a good candidate for your argument.
The fact that a simple commercial can be amazing is just what it's about. Imagine what it is to walk around and look at the amazing things all around us every day. Getting high means heightened awareness. You really pay attention to every nuanced flavor and texture of that wonderful ice cream sundae. If you are that present in the "here and now," it means there is less of your consciousness to be anxious over things in the future about which you can do nothing at the moment.
The Indicas will make you want to sit in a corner. The Sativas will not. But Sativas are hard to come by except through the medical dispensaries, for a variety of reasons. The other important thing to remember is that you can't expect Cannabis to work the same way a pill does. It really takes some time, effort, and (ideally) a personal coach to help learn how to use it and harness it's power. Just like you can't be expected to capably drive a high performance vehicle if all your driving experience is behind the wheel of a Geo Metro.
Even if medical science were to prove that reefer was beneficial...and I can say from first hand experience that it is greatly beneficial in combating insomnia, but...there is no chance Congress will ever vote to decriminalize in our lifetimes. We will always be on the wrong side of the law...and that sucks...and so does Congress!
I recall a friend once putting in an application for the job of of a graveyard shift clerk at a gas station/mini mart. He was required to pee in a cup to see if he was moral enough to sell beer, wine, tobacco, trans-fat laden junk food and explosively volital liquids to nocturnal motorists and meth addicts at 1am in the morning. If the test proved the slightest amount of THC in his urine he would fail; but conversely if he pissed 90 proof vodka he was good to go.
At one point, the government grew it and distributed it to patients. George Bush put a stop to that quickly and no new users are allowed govt. pot.
Some states, reps, lobbies are a lot more liberal, but marijuana is still defined as a drug and despite the allowance in state law for its usage in medicinal purposes, federal law still outlaws it. Therefore, you have the raids on the medical marijuana supply shops and such.
I don't think they have the votes to decriminalize marijuana. There simply are too many reasons not to, including the fact that funding the war on drugs is something that you can always get and misappropriate to increase your budget.
