What does it for you? From deeply romantic and passionate to wild, raunchy, "f**k-your-brains-out" sex - what CD's do it for you?

'Feeling Like Making Love' by Credance Clearwater Revival came on the radio one day when I was making love with a new boyfriend who was just blowing my mind.  The sex was amazing, he went on to become my parnter for many years and the song still brings a smile to my face and lustful thoughts to my mind :)

For some reason, i lean toward soft jazz when i'm with someone. I don't know why, it's the only time i ever listen to it. There's just something about it that turns me on. But my favorite would be "Beach Theme" from Tangerine Dream. I know, it's far from jazz, but that song really does it for me.

Some CD's are special as they evoke the memory of the time, place or person; others are just sheer raunch. For me Neil Young (After the Goldrush) and (recently) Robert Cray (Strong Pursuader)are in the former catagory, while Prince (1999) and anything by Janis Joplin covers the hot n'heavy.

BTW If your mood music is a single - hope its on repeat play or you've got problems:)

I have found "nature sounds," especially the ocean and/or classical tend to set a nice mood.  Nothing better then the ocean crashing and a deep massage to relax the mind and body.

The BEST cover song EVER.  Experience the overwhelming passion that IS Captain James T. Kirk, the Rocket Man!  If Kirk can't get your woman in the mood, then your woman probably isn't a green alien chick.

adolescent wanking "phantasies" [sic] ...  and the theme from Star Trek was naturally THE mood music to go with it! LOL

Rocketman "rocks" ... Shatner is a master of ham-handed over-the-top but still heart-felt evocation!  ;-)

I think I would find music with lyrics possibly a bit distracting although I would not rule out certain artists/songs.

In the classical vein I would prefer works that primarily emphasize strings and woodwinds. Any of Mozart's violin concertos would be mesmerizing.

A few non Mozart pieces that come to mind are:

Wagner's: "Ride of the Valkyries"

Rossini's: "The William Tell Overture"

Oh and lest I forget:
Rimsky-Korsakov's: "Flight of the Bumblebee"
That should set a breathtakingly passionate pace.

Rimsky?? Isn't that one of Singleton's aliases?

If I were to choose contemporary music with lyrics
almost any of the tracks on Peter Gabriel's excellent album
"So". Two of my favorite tracks are "In Your Eyes" and
"Don't Give Up" which is a somewhat hauntingly nuanced duet with, I believe Kate Moss. BTW I don't intend that track to be a provider's theme song for her clients ;-)

Of course others might think "Sledgehammer" is the obvious choice when it is really physical pounding sex that doesn't let up until you collapse in each other's arms bathed in sweat.

I also like one of Bruce Springsteen's lesser known albums:
"Nebraska".

Then of course there's Fleetwood Mac and a couple of fun tracks that come to mind are: "You Make Loving Fun" and "Secondhand News"

To get back to the classical there's Andrea Bocelli and his renditions of various Italian arias. In this case I don't understand Italian other than a few words and so the human voice becomes more like a musical instrument.

For hot, sweaty sex, nothing like the blues!  Janis Joplin was awesome in person, and I still enjoy her CDs.  For something more obscure, "Purple" and "Freedom Flight" by Shuggie Otis were incredible.  One very hot provider I know likes Enigma - asking the ladies what they like and using it is often a good idea.

Jenni,

I've wanted to ask you about your favorite music/musical instrument. Now--here's your chance.

I know you can play one "musical instrument" like a virtuoso.

You certainly get a "standing "O" from me!!!

Digging up those midi's got me looking for tunes on the net, and I stumbled on this fantastic site.  Give a listen to everybody's favorite sexhound, then peruse this huge site for your favorite tunes.

Speaking of sexhounds, allow me to invoke the words of the Keeper of the Funk himself,

"Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin’ but the dog in me

Bow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah

For me, music is great for setting the mood; but, as the action heats up, the volume goes down.  I get distracted trying to adhere to someone else's rhythm.  I prefer to ignore the rest of the world and concentrate on this beautiful woman nibbling on my ear while we find our own rhythm.

p.s.  What do you do with the break beat?

In no particular order:

1.  Soundtrack, "Basic Instinct", by Jerry Goldsmith - if "Pillow Talk" isn't fucking set to music (which basically was the scene it scored in the movie), I don't know what is.

2.  Soundtrack, "Exotica", by Mychael Danna -
"Inside Me" just makes me see spreading legs...it should be retitled "Cunnilingus".  Made love to this CD probobly 20 times.

3.  "Cielo e Terra", by Al diMeola - sublime acoustic guitar and synclavier (guitar synth), organic and earthy, yet shimmering and airy...sky and earth, indeed.

4.  "Remember Shakti", by John McLaughlin and Shakti - bansuri flute, Zakir Hussein's hyper tablas, and McLaughlin adding guitar runs to Indian music.

5.  "Soma", by Steve Roach and Robert Rich - space music that gets under your skin, and takes your lover right along with you.

6.  "Well of Souls", by Steve Roach and Vidna Obmana - like making love at a Peyote ceremony.
Way, way out there.

7.  "Slow World", by Liquid Mind - sensitive, loving music for deep emotions.

8.  "Autumn", by George Winston - graceful, bittersweet, and intense.

9.  "Caravanserai", by Santana - blissful combination of hippy and eastern music with  orgasmic solos from Carlos post "Devadip".

10.  "On This Planet", by Steve Roach - the title track that finishes the CD is like fourteen minutes of orgasm...it makes you collapse.

Of course, none of these CD's have vocals (with a few brief exceptions)...it is beyond me why anyone would want to hear anyone else's voice than their partner's during lovemaking.  For those who insist on it, though, try:

"Love", by The Cult - their best album by far, rocking sexy.

"Ultra", by Depeche Mode - after song #1, very slow and sexy.

"MCMXC A.D.", by Enigma - a cliche by now, but rhythmic and spooky.

I posted a reply and then it gave me a strange message, so hopefully I didn't duplicate..

Anyway, Spacey, good suggestions and I listened to many in this thread on Amazon.com and had a great time. Even discovered lots of new things, to include Journey Back to Sedona (!!) by Tom Barabas.

Sometimes we are in the mood for background music; vocals; no vocals; soft and romantic; frenzied fucking music, etc.

I still like Kenny G; remember fondly Vince Gill's "I Still Believe in You"; love Nora Jones' CD; KD Lang's "Sexuality"..
but ladies, have you listened to Bonnie Raitt's "Love Me Like A Man", or "Everybody's Cryin' Mercy", or even "I Gave My Love a Candle"?? Tell me if the first song doesn't make you picture yourself at a party, and you grab some guy by the collar and pull him into a closet with you and ..
