This is a personal question and I completely understand if there are no responses.  I am sure there are some parts of your lives that you want to remain private.  But here goes...

I love and crave sex.  Not just my partner initiating and me enjoying - but I want it as much as him.  I masturbate at least once per day.  I spend time researching different toys, positions and scenarios that I might find enjoyable.  And there are few requests a partner could make that I would not agree to - at least once.  

For clarification - I am not a provider, but a female hobbyist.  I have talked about sex with friends and most seem not to be particularly interested.  So of course it makes me wonder if I am the "norm" or if they are?

Imagine you are an OBGYN who has to look at vaginas all day...not just the small, tasty, odorless, pretty ones, but the gross ones too. On your day off, do you really want to deal with yet another vagina? That's about the easiest way I can describe it for me. Sex with a mate is much different, but I could never see having a boyfriend whilst doing this. I mean how does that work exactly? "Sorry honey, I can't fk you tonight because I have a yeast infection from the guy I had to fk for 12 hours yesterday."

I get bored really quick with the same person, but not the sex..just the person. So yea, I don't think you're abnormal, because many people feel the way you do.

I love sex, more than most, not as much as others.  You seem to have a high sex drive, some women have no sex drive, and then there are many in between.  
There are surveys that list where sex falls in priorities in women's lives.  One survey says, 1/3rd of women would rather give up sex than their phone.  Another, says sleeping and reading a good book ranked higher than sex...
Just google sex surveys and you'll get a ton of different list.  
I think for both men and women, stress and a busy lifestyle (especially raising children) can hamper their sex drive.  Let's face it, when you are sleep deprived sex seems less important than when you are relaxed, happy, and on vacation.
I used to be more like you, I craved sex and I still can't get enough.  But, I have found some middle ground and balance.  Yes, sex is fucking AWESOME, but there is more to life.
However, on the other extreme, there are many women that have no desire for sex.  I know, I "take care" of their husbands.  I'll never fully understand them, but they help keep me in business, so...

I can see where the Hobby would mess up your want/desire for men in your "regular" life.  On the bright side, at least it eliminates the need for a fuck buddy.

You are right - children definitely mess-up the sex drive.  It's hard to feel sexy when covered in spit-up and poop.  But I still don't think I would have given up sex for a book.  That's crazy talk.

OP: What is this "norm" that you seek? Is it the average? Shall we take the sexual habits and desires of every woman alive and divide them by the number of women and come up with a line - on the line is "normal", below the line is "repressed" or "undersexed", and above the line is "nymphomaniac".

Or, are you just asking "am I weird for being so horny"? I don't know, are you? Does it make you happy? Do you cum a lot? How can that possibly be a bad thing?

I think that a sex addiction is like any other addiction. Are you frequently late for work because you are busy masturbating? Have you lost a job for masturbating while at work? Does the desire for sex cause you to make bad decisions that damage your life? Have you harmed another person with your desire for sex?Or, does sex (alone or with a partner) bring you pleasure without hurting anyone else?

Personally, that's how I would judge if it were a harmful addiction or a pleasant pastime.


PS - Up until around my late twenties, I masturbated on the average five times a day. I've managed to cut it down to about once a day, but I rarely miss a day. I've lost innumerable brain cells, my palms are covered with hair, and I'm legally blind... but I smile a lot.

People who are sex addicts still have to be attracted to someone for the most part, I would think, so that is the part I don't get.
