I've seen so many uses of the term "mangina" and the various urban dictionaries and jargon lexicons each have their say, but on this site, I've seen the term used both endearingly and disparagingly.  Some here proudly claim to be card-carrying, founding members of the sect and others seem to abhor their existence.  At least one provider I read about on here thought she might be falling for one.  Could we get a freakin' quorum, please?  Is it good?  Is it bad?  What the hell is it?  How do you know when you are one?  If you are one, is there a 12 step program, or do you even want to enroll?  Pile on, please.

Just like everything else, it matters who your are.

If you happen to be a mangina, you are a sensitive, evolved male who values and champions the fairer sex. You prefer the term White Knight.

If you are not a mangina, they are ball-less women with too much hair on their legs. They will pay money for the privilege of being spat upon by the very maiden they are rescuing.

How come many of the most insulting posts come out under aliases?  Was that really necessary?  There's no trolling going on here, no intent to cause dissent on the board, just a question with the potential for some entertainment value.  On the other hand, there may be some flaming going on.  Get over yourself already.

I still disagree with the term, but I think adopting it and co-opting its intended usage as a form of social control through contrived peer pressure is wise. "Owning" the term immunizes one.

So, Grasshopper, to understand the meaning of any word you must look at the people who shout it the loudest.  What traits define them?

1.  They are oft an insulting lot as you have observed.  Quick to Flame, quicker to puff out their porkly chests and declare that their view of things is righteous and all others are foul.

2.  They see any comment that Pigly Men are not perfect as an insult to their manliness (or is it their piglyness, I am not quite sure).

3.  They fear logic as a vampire fears sunlight.  Ask them a fair question and you will get no answer for they shall shout "MANGINA" all the louder and in their mind that justifies everything.  Use logic and they well go deaf, dumb, and blind as they whip out their WK card, the other universal answer they have to everything.

4.  As much as they loath women who "don't know their place" they save their greatest loathing for any man who does not uphold and voice the Pigly Principles.

5.  They tend to be cowards as you have noticed, hiding behind aliases.  Why, one must ask?  Are they afraid the providers on here will not see them?  Probably, and that gives insight to the hypocracy of many of them.  If they were as Pigly as they profess to be they would defy the providers not to see them.  Or it could be they don't want their brother Pigly Men to see the reviews they write.  Heaven forbid they write reviews that COMPLEMENT a woman!  They could have their Pigly card revoked and what a shame that would be.  Personally I think that is the case a lot of times:  they speak Pigly Speak hiding behind an alias but most their reviews are of Doms.  THAT slice of honesty I would pay to see!  Which one of them is Senator Vitter?  And one want to lay odds?

With this understanding of who uses the term and the venom with which they use it you can now understand the meaning of the term.  It is essentially the opposite of all they hold dear.

Now as your next lesson in the Pigly Way watch the replies to this post.  Count the number of swears and curses.  See if they use logic or Pigly Speak devoid of sanity and filled with unfettered testosterone.

No, wait, they have already started!  My dear friend GeneralHooker (what else, a cowardly alias) took shots at me even before I posted!  Feel free to look at his link.  You will find
1.  I don't hide behind an alias
2.  I write positive things and negative things, I have more than one trick in my inventory
3.  Most my "mangina posts" respond to an insulting or dumb post in front of it.  I do not instigate, but I do tend to reply in kind (though with far fewer curses thrown in).

So there you have a few of the facts.  You can undoubtedly find some others that may agree with mine or may not.  Then make up your own mind.

PS:
1.  I'm afraid your request that the Piggly Men "get over yourself already" will fall on deaf ears.  They are genetically incapable of seeing any fault in themselves.
2.  I WISH I had that much hair!

Thank you for actually putting some substance in your reply!!  Seriously, I may not agree with your point but there is something there to actually respond to.

As far as the entertainment value I am glad you are entertained by it.  There are a growing number of "us" who have found great amusement at the apoplexic shades of purple many of the Pigly Men turn as they stumble over themselves to post empty insults.  Again, your post excepted.

From my perspective I would welcome a good substantive debate on some of these points of view but I am losing hope.

The truth has been posted in front of your eyes:  you hide behind aliases because you are afraid not of "us" but of most the providers cutting you off.

I wonder which is the real "you" and which is the illusion?  Is a dream inside a dream reality?  Is a Pigly Man alias more real than the Sub who sees his favorite Dom?  I wonder even more if you can tell the difference?

I do not know if you are referring to the local team here on the GD board as a sect, but we are just pussy whipped, White Knights that bow to kiss the asses of any provider that so orders it done.

We don't REALLY wear tampons but one would think so the way we act. You do seem to be a great candidate to join the Mangina Team and come over to the dark side.

boring, nauseating term that seems to have evolved into a term that can be used for all occasions. When someone reads a post, and they feel the absolute urge to respond, but don't have anything of value to say, they just wrap a few insults around the word "mangina". It doesn't necessarily have to make sense. It only needs to contain the word. This seems to give them the feeling of superiority that they so desparately need.

it is a term of contempt, derision, and disdain typically used by aliases who deem it their prerogative to tell others, here, how they should hobby. They will say that they use aliases because it drives the manginas crazy, or because they don't want to get emails, or they don't want to show up on google, but that logic doesn't seem to stop them from using their handle at other times, so those don't seem like reasonable explanations, hence one is left with the impression that they are too cowardly to reveal their board persona.

No they just like to stir shit up, and cause train wrecks, because they find it entertaining, and who knows why?

Best way to handle them is, just do not read, let alone respond to their posts.

As JohnGalt pointed out, accepting the term as a mantle immunes you from it all. And, since I will, no doubt, be responded to, very soon, as Mattgina, I'm doubly immune:)

...there was so much angst wrapped up in one little word?  I guess maybe I was trolling, but I didn't even know it (unintentional trolling?).  I asked to mod to pull the thread early on after a couple of posts because I had no idea the thread would go south and go there so fast.  But it looks like the question has certainly got some strong opinions.  Very educational to say the least.  May as well let it be what it will be.
