OK, I realize this post has the potential to be inflammatory and I know I'm on the general discussion board, so there are pretty much no rules.  So whatever comes my way, I'll just have to realize that I made my bed and now I have to sleep in it.  

Let me preface this by saying that I know there are outstanding ladies (hookers) and gentlemen (johns) north of the border, so I'm not painting with a broad brush and saying my description applies to ALL people involved in the hobby scene there.  

Having said that, I recently have had the chance to participate in the hobby north of the border and for the most part, I've been very disappointed. Yes, the prices tend to be cheaper (the hobby is probably the only thing cheaper in Canada), but that's about the only plus versus the hobby in the U.S.A. Looking through hookers in Canada, it was very hard to find one who made my dick hard at first sight. That's not a problem here in the States.  Also, most of the Canadian hookers I've dealt with seemed to have no problem treating us johns like shit.  Several didn't return phone calls, emails etc, I had a cancellation an hour before an appointment with no effort to make it up (I know this happens in the states) and then when I went to an appointment, the hooker told me to turn around and face the other way while she changes into an outfit!  WTF?!?!?!?  That had NEVER happened to me. Hello!!! One of the reasons why I'm PAYING for this is because I want to see you naked. If I want a woman to tell me to turn around while she changes, I'll spend time with my mother or my sister. In general, I seemed to receive shitty treatment from providers at a MUCH higher rate than what I've received from providers here in the U.S.A. And for anyone who wants to say I'm an asshole and that's the reason for the poor treatment, I give you my word that I'm make every effort to be a complete gentleman in these interactions....to the point where I'm bordering on Mangina.  

Now, why are things the way they are in our neighbor to the North? Well, I don't know for sure, but I will say this.  As bad as laws are for men in the U.S.A., I've heard the laws in Canada are even worse.  Also as much of a Mangina as I am ( and I am, for I admitted that I break down in tears when Gordon Lightfoot's "if you could read my mind" come on the radio. Hey! Lightfoot is Canadian! I guess Canada is good for something. LOL!), I've heard that manginaitis is a HUGE problem in Canada, with many of the men infected with this horrible disease. Could it be that because so many men up in Canada are even more of a mangina than I am, that so many gals up there have no problem or hesitation treating us johns like shit?  On another forum that shall not be named, I witnessed a discussion about whether it's OK to refer to providers as hookers. I was amazed at what I saw. There was a HUGE abundance of dudes who made it very clear that these women should absolutely NEVER be referred to as such a lowly term. Of course, there were plenty of gals who agreed with them, but there were a few women who had no problem with being referred to as hookers. They knew what they were....just like we johns know who we are. Sad to say, some of the women were acting much more manly than most of the "men".  

So, could it be that the Canadian manginas are enabling Canadian providers?  I wonder, but I don't know for sure.  

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?  If my analysis is totally off, let me know why. Or could there be some truth to what I'm saying?  I'm sure I'm probably going to get a lot of crap coming my way. I guess I deserve it.  

And to the beautiful and reasonable Canadian providers along with Canadian non-manginas, I know plenty of you exist and I have no problem with you.

My first hobby experience was in Canada, and I don't know who you've been seeing, but Canadian women are awesome!  If you can't find someone stunning in Canada, you're looking in the wrong place.

Now, if you're in Vancouver, Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Calgary or Edmonton, you'll find plenty of girls.  And since the laws are different in Canada, you never have to worry about LE stings if you deal with a private escort.  So there's no fear of opening the hotel room door to a police presence.

While I haven't actually had a chance to hobby in Canada yet, I have heard and read many great things about providers in Canada, and some of my best experiences ever were with providers from Montreal who visited Hawaii. There's another coming soon and I can't wait. Haven't been let down by Montreal gals yet!

Police stings happen in Canada, and they happen somewhat frequently.  Escort agencies that are licensed can send women on an outcall with no problems. That is perfectly legal.  A private escort hosting an incall is not legal and therefore subject to police action. If I'm wrong about this, feel free to correct me.

The booker was very easy to work with, the girls' pics were accurate and the performances ranged from decent to great. I had absolutely nothing to complain about. Plus, it was a great bargain compared to the US agencies. In Canada, outcalls are legal but not incalls as the OP indicated. Most of the agency girls are French Canadians for some reason.

Last spring or summer there was a court ruling that said that the laws against communication and "bawdy houses" (incall) were unconstitutional, and now the issue is before the Canadian Supreme Court.  As it currently stands, incalls are now legal, and the main thing that girls can be charged with is operating without a license, where licenses are required.  But the Supreme Court will be the final decider.

I've hobbied in Toronto and had some great experiences.  Actively planning my next trip.  TONS of hot hot hot ladies.  Also a very vibrant fbsm environment with at least a HE and sometimes a lot more.  And some of the MPAs are freaking amazing.

Note...the fbsm scene is also subject of much debate as far as what is legal vs what is illegal.  Currently, a HE by hand, Russian, or Italian is generally considered legal.  Anything beyond that is not.

I was in Calgary. I can't speak for Toronto, Montreal etc., hence I'm very clear that I'm not judging all hobby participants in Canada. Maybe someday I'll make it to Toronto.

Canada" is a big place. Generalizing to all Canada from your experience in one city in the midst of an oil boom seems a little out there. It's like talking about hobbying in the US from your experience in in Fargo.

To me Montreal is the best hobby city in North America

I haven't been up north in several years, but my experiences were the exact opposite: I found Ontario to be awesome, the ladies were friendly and willing and quite attractive. Even smaller towns often had great, fully nude strip clubs that were wild, with take out available. Around Toronto there were so many massage parlors where you could get a wonderfully sensual massage with an even better happy ending, done by beautiful young ladies of many nationalities (not just asian) who were also fully nude.  And unlike the States it seemed to be legal.  I was staying by the airport and there must have been a dozen within a couple miles.  The US dollar was very strong against the Canadian dollar then, so everything seemed cheaper.  At the time I was traveling to Ontario quite often, and I always looked forward to some fun times there.  This was around 1999 - 2007, so things might have changed.

There can be very few places on Earth, better than Montreal. I have not found them yet.
