personally I find it rather shallow that a man would find a woman either more or less "sexy" depending on her station in life. Every bit as shallow as a "gold digger" who finds only successful men "sexy"

Believe it or not, the indies in this biz are true business owners in my book, they are their own CEO's. It takes a hell of a lot of work to keep up your marketing, advertising etc, don't kid yourself for those who truly take it seriously, not just throw an ad up somewhere and say ok, someone will take the bait. It is a business, truly. Especially with the crazy competition....and being on your back is less than 10% of the job in my opinion.
I've had a few 'other' businesses I started myself (not just this one here) and it is the hardest work out there to be your own boss, do your own thing....but definitely rewarding if you're passionate enough. I have never favored working for people (that's probably pretty obvious), it's not in the cards for some people. But I do envy those who can, as it would make life a helluva lot easier LOL. Like crazy easier. LOL Perhaps that will be my goal in 2014...who knows. LOL

That's my way of saying that I actually agree with you on this. I most likely know even more independent providers "CEO's"than you, and it is not lost on me the amount of effort that goes into it. I too am not suited to working for other people and at this stage in my life, I consider myself completely "unemployable" as no one would put up with my shit. lol
as for a woman POTUS, I see it an inevitable, but I don't see any woman currently in politics that I could vote for as POTUS, but that doesn't make me a sexist because I feel the same way about every male politician I can think of as well.
The only place where I disagree with you is that I believe that Cosette was using CEO to mean Chief executive of a major, most likely publicly traded corporation, and not the thousands of women running their own, much smaller companies.
New Year shall start off right...together LOL. I didn't read all of Cosettes posts, but to me the definition of a CEO is technically 'any' woman making her own money by her own passions in life, no matter what they may be.

but I do agree with you on this, As for the definition of CEO, I also agree with you, but since it's Cosette's thread, I went by her reference in her OP which was celebrating a woman being named CEO by a major corporation.
Women, just like minorities are going to gradually climb the corporate ladders, there is going to be a "lag effect" as the "Old white men" currently in charge are replaced by attrition with people other than "Old white men". Just like this country is becoming more "brown" so with the corporate board rooms. As the demographics of this country change, so will the people in charge.
I guess we will have to fight some other day, as we seem to be pretty much in agreement on this subject
but that is for today, tomorrow is another day.............my friend LOL. I am quite certain we will be at each other's throats again soon. I look forward to it as I'm sure you do too

But there is something to be said for the felt but unseen qualities a man or woman possesses. Power is one of those qualities, and so are intelligence, wisdom, confidence, kindness, sensitivity. Combined in the right people, these make for ubersexiness.
Beauty? I can see What you're saying. But at a certain point, the eyes see so much more than the physical that the physical ceases to be as important. Likewise, a person can have physical beauty in spades, but the personality of a doorknob- or worse- they can be rude, mean-spirited people. That just zaps all sexiness out of them.

But, I don't feel it has much to do with someone's line of work. I think it has everything to do with being confident in who they are and being comfortable in their own skin. Power often corrupts and I think I'm pretty good at recognizing how genuine someone is. I for one am not an attractive man (and that,'s ok, if we were all good looking then none of us would be), I'm a little over weight and not so young anymore. But I'm confident in "who" I am and I'm comfortable in my own skin, I would hope that makes me a little more attractive than I reallly am. I guess the reason that I say all that is that someone can be good looking and not be sexy, or someone could be a CEO and not be sexy whereas a diner waitress or a grocery store checkout worker could be very sexy. Bottom line, for me anyway, it's not what you are, it"s who you are and what you do

25-35 is very limiting, you people sometimes make me lose faith in men for my old age.
Everyone is wired differently. I happen to be wired to prefer girls in that age group, though I've been with gals in their 40s, too. Other men love BBWs, or older women. Unfortunately, you are dealing with a 100,000 years of evolutionary biology here. There are always exceptions, but women are hard wired to find good providers sexy to protect their offspring and insure survival of their genes. That makes power sexy to women. Men are hard wired to find fertility sexy to ensure lots of offspring and the survival of their genes. That makes youth sexy to men; not power. A powerful woman may be otherwise sexy, but most men will be attracted to her looks; not her power.
