It should have been a red flag when he was talking about activities, even if it's just kissing, over the phone.
And you mentioned that he "grilled" you about it, too.
You should have ended the call then and decided not to see him for that.
What did his references say about him?
It's just one of those live and learn experiences.
You could tell future clients that you don't like alcohol.
And possibly go deeper into screening by asking references how the client was and if he was enjoyable.
I had a client come by and bring wine and he didnt tell me he was going to bring any. He grilled me over the phone about kissing and it was pretty much a deal breaker for him if I didnt and I dont mind it so I yes. He had already been there for 20 min before we got to the kissing and I was finding it hard to get into it because I didnt like the taste of it (I'm not a huge whine or beer drinker) He complained about the fact I wasnt kissing to his expectations I told him that it was because I didnt like the taste of wine and I was finding it difficult to perform. He then got up and took the entire donation and left. This was a while ago and because of this I hide the money now before 'business actually starts'. But I'm wondering who was at fault - him for failing to tell me he was going to bring wine or me for not being able to push past the fact I wasn't enjoying kissing him because of the taste of the wine on his lips?

I'm retired at the moment and staying with a benefactor.I have really bad reviews and was working at $60/hour in San Diego because if I ask for any more then that my phone does not ring so the kind of clients I attract will refuse to even be screened.
And you mentioned that he "grilled" you about it, too.

You shouldn't lower your rates or risk your safety by not screening just because clients don't see you above a certain rate.
Stay safe..
It was that or be homeless didnt know what else to do but drop my rates
Stay safe..
What difference does it make who was right and who was wrong?
He didn't get what he wanted, and she didn't get what she wanted.
Sweetie, you are advertising on BP with ridiculously low rates and then not screening the guys who call. I hear what you are saying, that you feel you have no other alternative - now, hear what I am saying: if you continue to do so, you will continue to attract the lowest possible denominator of hobbyist. You'd better LEARN how to enjoy kissing men with booze, cigarette, or worse breath because those are going to be the BEST clients you can hope for.
From his standpoint, he was a moron. If you book a session, and kissing is the most important thing to you, then you show up with fresh breath and a clean mouth. Period.
Change your professional name and start fresh? You can delist yourself from TER if you want to...and your reviews and profile would come down.
I get that you are not in the best position right now financially...but you really shouldn't be putting yourself in such danger. $60 an hour? You can make more as a stripper, and be much, much safer than you are right now. And honestly, if this is the case, and you're advertising on BP for $60 an hour and requiring absolutely no information from your clients, you are extremely lucky that this is the worst thing that happened to you.
Do you know any other women in your area in the industry who could perhaps mentor you and help you revamp your image and help you screen effectively? Again, you are really putting yourself in harm's way...and, while it may not be necessarily easy to do all the things I have suggested, but we're talking about your very life here. Think about it. Please.
that stinks.....i d say escort work isnt right for you, and stay away from it, I mean you could tend bar and i know when i was 19 i made 400 a shift at popular 24/7 diner/bar spot in town . and that was what 12 years ago? you can make that waitin tables at a fancy restauraunt and they train, I worked at another top notch spot on newbury among several , but I remeber one italian restauraunt did a free training on wines and what things on menu meant in english, like puttanesca means spicy sauce and actually means a slut too. of course I remeber that!
then they trained you to open the wine with one hand while you balance it some very fancy way to serve wine, then they taight you about woodsy noted fruity notes so youd know the wine menu, That restauraunt owned another one too even more high end and I recall once a 70 dollar tip on a dinner for 2 with like no work involved. They were drinking champagne so the biill waslike up there, And this was again 11 to 12 years ago i was 19 or so. 31 now. Maybe you should try fine dining and ask the bennie to help you take you around some places in the neighborhood. you poor thing that blows.
you fucked me over too. You try and hustke people that are trying to help you, your fuct ! i was down and out and sharing what little i had n you had it all at you know whos house sittin in your ass all day . takin advantage of him too like you did. That only works for so long with people , I dont feel bad I realize who you are now after seein the photos. I heard all the misfits that dont fit in leave boston to go to cali.
Its both of you.
Yours for lowering your standards to put up with bullshit.
His for being a D-bag & not at least compensating you for your time.
Since you have "bad reviews " & are practically giving it away I would delist, retire and revamp myself then come back & knock em dead with a whole new game plan.
Be amazed at what a lil attitude adjustment can do for a gals career choice.
Xoxo V.

He was an ass.
Don't talk specifics over the phone.
I think both of you lacked a little in the communication dept. I dont know if the gentleman has an obligation to tell you he is bringing wine, but I ALWAYS discuss this with the lady prior to my/her arrival. Not all ladies drink, as I recently found out and I had a great time with her. I think when you realized he did bring the wine though, you should have spoken up at that point and said something to him that you didnt know he was bringing wine, and would he mind, that he not imbibe prior to the "activities." I dont think, however, that a lady ever needs to "push past" something that makes her feel uncomfortable. That is your right to say no. Just because you said yes prior to his arrival, that wasnt a blanket yes for every scenario. Just my 2 cents.
even if it it's legal. Who knows what someone is like on booze. If you're in a State where MJ is legal is it okay to show up with a joint? At least ask her if it's okay as with some ladies, the OP and myself the addition of booze is a deal breaker.
Well, come now--you didn't like him, right? If I understand correctly, the first 20 minutes of the session is wine drinking + chat. Then the kissing starts, which you both discussed beforehand. You don't like it, so he bails. A gentleman would've given you some $$$ for your time. But you wanted to keep the entire amount. Nope, can't agree with you here.
If you don't want a client to drink during a session, you should've told him that when he pulled out that wine bottle. But the wine sounds like an excuse--you didn't like him so you opted out of GFE, even when you both agreed beforehand on a GFE session. Maybe you should ask a new client for a recent photo before you agree to a GFE session. --z
I didnt have a say in the matter I left it where he put it on the dresser by the door. He just got up got dressed took it all didnt leave anything for me to compensate for the 20 min he was there. Hence why I after him I hid it after I got the donation.

excusing yourself to the bathroom and counting it in there before you begin and then tucking it away, . I do think though that if mutually the session ended I dont think taking his whole hour appt money is fair, either, but I dont think leavin the envelope out and not even getting up to go count it is good. I made that mistake a few times,

Sometimes people are not a match. He required kissing, you disliked kissing him, the reason does not matter unless he was negligent in hygiene. The session should have ended and it was not do to any one persons negligence. As for the donation he didn't get what he was paying for and he clearly established and I feel, not do to a failing of his. At the same time you did show you was willing to try to make it work, even if because of the taste of the wine you could not preform well, spent 20 min doing so, and had your incall ready. It really was no ones fault.
Now about the money. I feel you was not in titled to full amount as you did not deliver as expected by your own admission, yet you should have gotten enough at least to cover expenses in my estimation. I can see arguments both ways. As to who's fault the break down was to start it was no one's and it doesn't have to be. Some people just don't match.
He added alcohol without asking her if a. she drank and b. would it affect the kissing.
So if a hobbyist said he was really into penetration and made sure that the escort would allow that (yeah I know let's forget about discussing services for a moment to elucidate my point) and showed up with a bag full of huge dildos. Would she be expected to allow the insertion of said unwrapped toys at the size that a female elephant might have difficulty with?
And I echo those comments that mentioned his "grilling", that would have been a red flag right there. In fact I won't agree to anything sight unseen.

Both parties acted stupid to start. She did not screen, let him talk services and he talked services and grilled her. Both huge mistakes. But the issue came with the wine. The agreed to kissing. She should have asked him not to drink and brush his teeth or send him packing if it was an issue for her. He should not have introduced a drug (the wine) with out checking. Both again screwed up. Then it didn't work. He did not get what he paid for and walked with his money. He should have paid something for the room and time spent. But didn't, but ultimately who's fault is it, ether nether or both's. To blame just one is wrong.
Unwrapped dildo's is a safety issue, the taste of wine is not. Inserting a dildo is a whole new menu item, the taste of his mouth is not. Apples to oranges. I get the taste of anything can be a deal breaker. And the introduction of that taste was his bad. But the fact she did not stop it point blank at the start and she could have is on her.
Now here is my main point both screwed up. Nether did anything truly evil. Stupid, yes they both did stupid things, evil no. In the end they was not a match in part because of mistakes on both sides and likely also they just didn't click. Just to though ether out as the bad guy is not accurate. It is true both had their hand in the failings. To claim one was at fault and excuse the other is bull shit. I choose to excuse both as nether likely intended harm. He still should have left something though for her troubles and costs. That was his bad and his alone.
Why would you let any "JOHN" drill you over the phone about anything???? He would have heard a dial tone after the first 20 seconds into the drill, if I were a provider.
We are supposed to bend over backwards, offer extra time, and just about do anything that the guy requests or be bashed in a review and called a street walker. Women like her who are in need are their prime targets for manipulation, because SHE did not want to offend him or lose the money she desperately needed. Not every woman is in a position to tell a guy to fk off, and that much is obvious. I agree with you trust me, but not every woman has that luxury. It sounds like she is in a bit of a tight spot here.
i don't think anyone can fault you for not being able to push past something you found distasteful. it is always a lady's prerogative what she will and won't do. hey, every date has an element of ymmv to it! having said that, however, you knew from the "grilling" that kissing was a deal breaker for this particular guy. you'd told him up front that kissing was okay. did you do so unequivocally, or did you mention any possible deal breakers for YOU...such as smoking, garlic...wine? even if you didn't, you still have the right to say no.
on the other hand, it's understandable he was disappointed. it sounds as if he was somewhat demanding (?) and maybe he even got a little defensive about being offensive. if so, that likely didn't help matters. it might have ended differently had he elected to put aside the wine and brush his teeth - but its absolutely HIS prerogative to want his wine AND his kissing! it's his date, after all.
it's a shame the two of you couldn't have simply decided, "no harm, no foul" - and he'd done right thing and left you a li'l something for your trouble.
Wine, hell alcohol is a drug albeit a legal and socially accepted drug. One that not all people naturally imbibe in. To show up with booze and not tell her? Not cool. It might be his date but drinking alcohol is not a part of the regular date activities.
However if she was seeing lowlifes then I can see where whatever they show up with the lady just has to deal with. I am very glad she spoke up...no-one should be made to "push through" that.
yes, absolutely. he can want wine, crisco, the aforementioned elephant dildoes...anything at all. he can WANT it because its "his" session. that doesnt mean he can HAVE it. what happened here was an epic fail in communication on both parts:
* he should have asked if he could bring wine
* she should have qualified her answer to the kissing question, indicating "everything is ymmv"
* she should have said something when he opened the wine
* when the session started going sideways - whether it was a lack of chemistry, the wine or something else - there should have been an adult conversation (both participating in a non-accusatory fashion) along the lines of, "so sorry, this really isn't working for me; i think we oughta [fill in the blank]..."

Is that if i was in a bad way for cash I also would suck it up and kiss the wine breath and say hey we are gonna get this little peanuts these bastards have here and get the right clothes make uo incall and reviews and damnit we are gonna charge 160 not 60 next week dammit all, wine breath or no wine breath , you should a held your nose and took a leeping nose dive into his wino breath and said i am ina jam but i am gonna get out, and you gotta take some shit here n there to get outta bad situations, . If this is the career your dead set on your gonna have to nice to some unpalatable guys, thats why they are calling you, . I am being honest here, not every guy has great breath, I mean this is escorting its not supposed to be a walk in the park, but, you want the easy way out theres consequences, we dont wanna work full time at normal jobs well we cant complain when the guys are maybe not all perfect catches, .
... fault because you saw him pull out that wine bottle and you made no effort to stop him.
Since you don't have a website to state that no drinking is permitted. Your ads in Backpage and FreePost site does not mention that it's supposed to alcohol-free.
Hiding the money is not going to solve the issue. Making clear of your rules will prevent misunderstandings in the future,
Serpius
Perhaps finding a provider that can be a mentor or working for an agency? Even with an agency, you are still going to make at least 200 per call especially in a place like California, so I would go that route for the time being if you want to be safe. They will do your screening for you and inform clients of certain things that you are not into, before you even show up. I can't imagine anyone having to charge 60 bucks unless it is for a lap dance only, and even that is a waste of time unless you are doing only outcalls. It would take at least 2 calls to even book a decent hotel at that rate.
If you ever need any advice, many ladies are here to help so feel free to email me or whoever is willing to talk with you. You are putting yourself in a dangerous position and I would hate to see anything happen to you.
Look into massage only or FBSM services, because that might be a better fit. No kissing, no sex, and no msog. Most women I know make 150-200, and it is not even a full hour. It is usually a massage with your body to his and an ending of hj or bj, and the rate goes up for bj. I think that might be a better option for you, and you'll get more quality clients since they are not expecting sex for 60 bucks.

Bad thing happen to those that don't screen and have low standards.
is always a good idea. I do think if some one engaged in anything wether coming into the "workplace" your office . wether it be hotel or rented incall apt time share with another provider. Or even your home. Either way I do think if he kissed ya well. with wine breath. and where you werent drinkn with him. I sippose you coulda trouble shooted and said hey hun can we both go use some listerine?> and can you like have a glass of wine intermission in 30 min then get back to rinse with mouthwash for me then back to business, if case is he is an alchie and or maybe has anxiety disorder some form and this is his copiung mechanism to do the date. whatvever his issue is. My perspective i am like well, you know lets make an analagy here. You walk into andentist. You allow them to clean your teeth with the spinnie thing. Now they are about to do flourise treatment and next xrays. you decide hey f&^* you bastards I am outtie 500. Ok so. Hmm would the dentist still want the money for the visit?
I think he was mean to do that to ya. I also wouldnt want to taste wine tongue . Would he mind if you take a huge bite of garlic bread before the appt? I mena if your both eating italian food before date fine, If your both havn gross wine, wine is just volatile anyway . I think wine is just gross. I d rather smell whiskey than wione but I d rather and dont allow liqour or booze at my dates any ways,.
After this experience i hope you plaster all over your site that booze and drugs are not ever allowed on the premise of where you run your business.
That should at least make it clear you are totally grossed by taste of booze on people lips and just have no tolerence for this stuff. I think if he went and had a tattoo artist give him half a tattoo, i got my back tat done in alot sittings, I d paid for each sitting, I mean thats fuct. i am sorry but thats a bummer that happened. I dont think thats cool. andn i think he nowes you, I mean you made out with him, ok so after 10 min every one decides its not workin, I think he shoulda gave you somethin. at least for make out session, I alsi would recomend plasterin you f0rbid booze on on premis of the work place. I dont mind being around drunk guys in a strip club with 10 bouncers standin next to me, Alone ina hotel apt incall thier h0ouse, with a drunk man twice my size? and no bouncer. I would be too scared to have fun. In a club thats another story theres huge drunk dudes everywhere but theres also protection for when they decide to get rowdy to keeop them in line, alone in your room or whatever bein w a drunk guy would just make me uneasy, they get rougher, they get louder, and its not a relaxing enviroment to bang in if your seber and aware of whats the hell goin on your not gonna enjoy havn a drunk man with you, I d say dont ever have a drunk guy in again, !!!!!
and I know it stinks when this happens but stick to the business men day shift crowd if that bothers you its not as prevailent .
"He grilled me over the phone about kissing"
Grilled you? Not asked politely, not stated that this was really important to him, but grilled you? If a man cannot speak to you like a gentleman, there's really nothing to discuss. It indicates that he will not treat you like a lady.
Next time, if you get grilled about anything, or get any sort of hint that you will not be respected, don't go through with anything.
Now, I don't think this guy sounds like a monster or that he was totally inappropriate. He had expectations that...right, wrong or indifferent, you couldn't meet at that time. I think maybe you should put on your website and/or ads that you do not drink at all. That may not necessarily be the case, but obviously, the taste and smell of alcohol bothers you...and bring a bottle of wine to a date is really not all that uncommon or outlandish. So, if you clearly put on your site/ads that you do not drink, gentlemen will probably not be bringing any wine to your date...and thus, you will most likely not have to deal with this again.
I can't believe any of you are taking it seriously.
1) $60 an hour? But she's a TER member with reviews? It doesn't pass the sniff test.
2) She admits all her reviews are bad? Please see above.
3) Those who point out her screening is poor are right, but I don't even believe any of this happened.
4) Wine at a session? What a shock! Many guys bring wine as a gift. I have, but I intend it as a gift and not to be drunk during a session unless the lady wants to. But, again, I fail to believe someone who says she charges $60/hr. and is close to being homeless would end a session over this.
5) Ergo, the OP is a troll.
i saw the providers post on the newbie board this morning.
and its obviously a plea for assistance...i dont think shes trolling.
my suggestion to the op is to lose weight...change up her name as she claims shes already done a time or two and try and befriend a hooker or two to help her understand how to get business (and shorting time and such isnt a good recipe for repeats (or good reviews)...i think!).
and if she is only doing massage no biggie. still could lose the weight and offer a nice fbsm. i thought that was just discussed here...maybe thats what got her to write this thread?

Everybody here loves it when a guy with one review and a couple of weeks of worthless, negative posts explains to us how we should behave.
It's quite possible that the OP is something other than genuine, though I don't see what she hopes to gain. With my 10+ years experience here, it doesn't read at all like a troll post, but more like one from a young aspiring provider who doesn't really know what she is doing and is looking for help from experienced providers and hobbyists.
If we newbies bore you so much, why not go somewhere else and enjoy your rich and successful career as a whoremonger in NYC?
Suffice it to say your ass-umptions about me are incorrect. Discretion requires that I provide you with no further information. But, by all means, go ahead and keep making a fool of yourself. BTW, I could care less if you believe me or not.
PS: I am flattered that you claim have read all my posts over the past few weeks. Keep it up. You might learn something. Based on your post, you need to.
-- Modified on 11/18/2012 8:52:41 AM
You said you were a long time hobbyist but new to TER. You said you hobby in NYC, which by the way will skew your perceptions about the hobby on the rest of the planet. You have only one review posted, if you have others posted under another name, I have no way of knowing that, but since you say you are a new TER member, I guess I did "assume" that to be true. Again, if you have other reviews on other boards, I have no way of knowing that.
I read your posts because I generally don't respond to a single post with anger until I get an idea of what the poster has had to say otherwise. Sure enough, 99% of your posts here have been insulting other posters, calling this a "newbie" board, and taking shots. I haven't seen anything useful or "added value" from what you post, so I went ahead and formed an opinion.
So thanks for the offer, Obi-Wan. Show me, teach me, make me write bad checks.
I'll post a brief response because, ordinarily I'd PM something like this. I do have many other reviews here and that's all I'll say, except to add they number about twice what you've posted. And I do review on another board, where my review total is even higher. Most people who know me take my posts seriously, as they are based on extensive experience in the hobby and on various boards.
As for 99% of my posts being negative or insulting, I simply call BS on that. Anyone who says it clearly has not read all my posts, which is what you implied you did. So your response was riddled with assumptions and inaccuracies, in addition to being condescending and snarky. Hence, I pushed back. You can count on that continuing. Suggestion: don't limit yourself to reading my posts on this board and see what I post on the NY Board, the Porn Star Board, etc. (Just don't look at the P&R Board, because if you think I'm bad here, well...lol!)
Regarding the OP, please re-read what I said and consider I may be right. Negative or not, my comments are based on a gut feeling that the OP is a troll and the story is not legit. Too many unbelievable statements. I'm amazed no one else questioned it.
Finally, I'll grant you one accurate statement. You are correct I've referred to the General Board these days as a newbie board. Funny thing is, based on the number of your reviews, you've been around long enough to know there's a lot of truth in that statement. Since the volunteer mods were fired and new "rules" imposed, many veteran posters have gotten fed up and left this board. The result is there are lots of new posters, which is a good thing, and even a few vets like perfectstorm, Old Traveler and others. But the downside is, more than ever, there are people posting opinions and information that's flat out wrong or naive. Just my opinion, but this board had much more value when there were more veterans here. You could always learn something from a more senior poster, and I include myself as someone who's always interested in learning something new.
OK, now I'm done. Post a response if you like, but don't expect me to reply.

And a brown envelope certainly doesn't equate to a newbie...NOT by a long shot.
Considering how many senior posters have been on here posting, and trying to add some value to the misinformed here...
Well, maybe there's a change coming?

I have heard this story form more than one low end lady. I am not new to this and I do see ladies at every level. The story is not at all different than many I have heard from low priced Backpage ladies.
I wasn't there and there are a lot of subtilties to how this went down. Wine is a very personal thing. I think men & women have different tastes. I wonder if a suggestion to "Start over" might have helped, with mouthwash as was mentioned already.
The client may well have felt justified if he interpreted the exact words she spoke & tone as "I'm just not into you!" He didn't ask if there was any way to set things right either (so his bad too!). Perhaps I'd have not stopped to think about a Start Over or Mouthwash either. Splitting the donation would have been much more fair but he was feeling rejected & bailed.
I think wine or any alcohol of any kind is questionable. Many people avoid alcohol for their own good reasons which need not be defended. Some gals have told me they don't drink alcohol when working and discourage their clients from doing so. This is not a romantic date. He doesn't know if you like alcohol or if so what kind? Perhaps you went along with his choice of wine, trying to be polite... but then it was too much. This like breaking the Bad Breath news to a real lover... must be done gently.
My Favorite ladies do not touch the donation until we are dressed or sometimes even before I leave, many First Dates do indeed put it away or even check it in the bathroom. I can't blame them, as many have been scammed. (I think it's despicable... I feel it's an unspoken contract & obligation & I will always honor my side of it.)
It IS your business & you must do what seems right for your business. Putting the donation away is a bit arkward to keep the GFE feel... but it can be done. Better to not be in this position in the first place.

That sucks!! I would NOT have told him that you didnt like the taste of the wine on him and that you could not get into it. We are providers. Many times I have fun with my clients and I can make the best of any situation. Sometimes I see someone that for whatever reason, I am just not vibeing with. Then I turn on my great acting skills.
When he said something you should of perked up and said "oh baby I am so sorry, here let me take care of you" then push his ass down on the bed and change his mind. Otherwise it was a waste of your time. That is what I would have done.
Does it say on your website that you do not drink wine or beer? Does it say for your clients to not bring any alcoholic beverage? Or if there is something you do like you could mention you will only drink that. I have not checked your site out so if nothing is there as a warning, then maybe you should put something up?
It really sucks that happened. I was not there so I do not know how you said it to him. Sounds like he was a bit difficult though and not very laid back. Especially with him grilling you for 20 minutes on the phone about kissing. Most guys do not do that, but when I get someone that REALLY stresses about something in particular it worries me if he will be a difficult client.
Good idea, but the kissing was still important and it sounds like she couldn't get through it even if she tried to "distract" him.
I'd say the issue had to be addressed with the bottle came out. And the guy probably would have left, but she wouldn't have wasted 20 minutes.
She sounds a little bit beat up emotionally and that doesn't seem good for this business. Almost all successful women seem to have very strict boundaries and a VERY stiff backbone. They can be that way because they aren't worrying about paying for their next meal. It makes a big difference in terms of how you can conduct yourself and how flexible (or not flexible) you need to be.
As someone else said, she is not in a good spot to even be in this business because she has to make decisions for BAD reasons.
