What do you advise about sharing the fact that one is a TER member with a provider?

Should you mention that when scheduling the appt, or actually when you meet her - or not at all?

I would imagine that it would be important for her to know ... and it could possibly affect her performance (for the better), no?

Your last paragraph concerns me: the worst thing you could do is give the impression that you're revealing your secret identity to get something from her (i.e., better performance or, god forbid, a discount).

That said, I almost always give away my handle in the initial contact. Nothing is more flattering than to have a lady say, "Oh yeah, I know who you are..." and still agree to see me. Of course that's only about 1 in 10 -- most never respond at all or reply with something along the lines of "Not a chance you creepy, bald TERmite!"

No, if I want better performance I rely solely on my monkish good-looks and my buttloads of boyish charm.

I would give you the same service..I like to know though..a screening tool..read your reviews if you have any..see what you like ..if they are truthful!!

I don't reveal - that way there is no pressure...  I may reveal after....  particularly if I write a review - and usually I will not write a review unless it will be a good one...  Clearly my reviews are under separate cover....   wonder who that could be...?? hum....

I often reveal my handle prior to meeting a provider, if she posts a lot on the TER board. The providers I have discussed this with said that they had read my reviews to get an idea of what I like.

I didn't mean sharing my handle or such with the provider, just the fact that I visit and check-out TER for the purpose of finding a good Provider.

Whether I post reviews on TER would be implied but I wouldn't share this level of detail with her anyway.

I rarely write under an alias, but am doing so now for reasons that become obvious.

I was asked my TER handle by a woman I would have like to have seen.  I was a bit uncomfortable but went ahead.  She contacted, without asking me, one of the few ladies to whom I gave a less than stellar review.  This, lady, who is nice enough, but not at all my type, then wrote me a quite hostile email.

Your TER handle can be misused, so be careful.

but I have been encouraged by several providers to join TER so I could write reviews of them.  Often the subject of the boards comes up with providers whom I know well, and of course they want to know my board name and I tell them.  So far so good. I like to be very open with people whom I make love to.  If I get a hostile email some day because of something I wrote, I suppose it won't kill me.

It doesn't matter if he told me he was "Mr. Fisher" -- whose posts I love -- or King Kong, he'd still get the same stellar performance. Wink!

On one hand it makes much of the screening for the lady unnecessary by virtue of it lending to her merely back-channeling to previous providers for a verification. The provider can also surmise by your reviews what type of session or practices you enjoy and conduct herself accordingly.

 On the other hand the practice of "cherry picking" by a provider and summarily declining your wish to see her for any number of reasons based on your review history is possible.

because I just consider it bad taste and beside the point - unless she asks.  It's too much like a threat to mention a review.  I think that people are entitled to good faith.

...but I hope not.
