I got into GFE hobbying in late 02. I have been enjoying the hell out of my self since. I found a great ATF early on. I've had only 1 lady flake on me(and then we became friends oddly enough)and generally have met and enjoyed some wonderful ladies.
  Unfortunately I'm not a wealthy man and to keep up with my libido and enthusiasm I took a couple of fiscal liberties over the months. For a while now I've been operating without a "slush fund" to cover the "what-ifs" when they pop up.
  Today was payday and due to both the seasonal slowdown and some office politics my check was WAY lite. So here I sit alone at my computer wishing to talk to my ATF or any one of the many ladies I have become friends with. However; Cynicalman's motto
"it's all about the money" keeps running through my head and keeps me from dialing.

 Are there any others out there who have experienced this ugly scenerio or am I the only fool here?.

I'm still in close contact with some now very good friends that are providers ... we do lunch and dinner sometimes (off the clock) so it can be done. good luck ....

seriously, you're not alone ... not by a long shot. i don't even want to begin to tally up the receipts from all my escapades over the years

Probably a majority of us in some way or another.  My situation got so bad the past couple of months I went out on an extended credit limb with three providers I have become close to.

My excause is that all three have called me, not me calling them, but it still has become uncomfortable.  I bit the bullet today when my ATF called and asked when we were going to see each other again.  I said when I got a good size check to pay her back for the last two times we got together.  She tried to say no big deal, but I know it is getting out of hand.  I'm now out on the credit limb for two sessions with her (one for three hrs.) two with another provider and once with a third.  This economy sucks.  But it sure is hard to stop.  Adicted?  Naw!

Yeah, I think we have all been there at one point or another particularly if it is an addiction for you.  Cancelled a week long vacation with my ATF because it was going to break me financially for the rest of the year.  I live in an area where hobbying is hard to do.  If I lived in NYC or Anywhere else where hobbying was easy, I would have been bankrupt long ago.  As it is I go out of town, party till my slush fund is awfully low and then have to wait till it comes back up.  I don't ask for credit because it would be difficult to ever catch up.  Maybe this is telling you something. Who knows?

I suppose you could always call and just talk but maybe it's time for a different hobby for a while.  The ladies will always be here when you get back.  You could always try civilians.   I know it is like eating sardines when you are used to tuna LOL but hey, your'e eating.

Not with the ladies so much, but other sources. It's all so easy; Untill the bill arrives and you're trying to set up next weekends festivities and you havn't payed for last weeks party yet.   Not good!!

Good advice for anything in life.  You have exceeded your current financial limits.  Go make money, then return to hobbying.  It is the only mature choice.  Sure you can try to get some freebies, but that comes with its own baggage.  So you decide.

I truly know where you are coming from. My own fiscal situation is depressed this year.  Thus, only one FS session this year.  I don't care what my "libido" says, it doesn't make any money and has no concerns for my other commitments in life, ALL OF WHICH ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN HOBBYING.

I used to be a once a week guy, but prices have escalated dramatically and my income has not- in fact, its gone down dramatically.  

I continue to hang out on TER just to keep involved on some level until I can afford to see some ladies again.  Of course, if prices hadn't doubled in the last five years, I'd still be able to afford this hobby at least once a month.  But until this whole internet price escalation thing gets sorted out and sanity comes back into the picture, I'm an observer, not a participant.

Years ago when I was in college on a shoe string budget, I had this urgency to see my then ATF. Well with no money I had to come up with some inventive story to call and if possible see her.

I rummaged through my apartment and put together a nice package of trinkets and quirky presents in a gift bag with a card in it. I called her up we chatted for a while, and told her I was passing by her place with some gifts that I had made. Well she invited me over and I just flew there before anything else happened. Once there she was so impressed with the gifts that she initiated all the moves. I must say it was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had.

A few months later I got to be bold enough to call and set an appointment knowing I had no money, figured my charm would do it. Well got kicked out so fast that I must have dented the hallway wall across from her apartment door.

I suppose you don't want a cure but I assume you started this thread because you wanted some feedback.  I don't think anyone who answered you thought it was a good idea for you to bankrupt yourself or jeopardize your credit rating in pursuit of the hobby.  Believe me I have been there where you are trying to figure out how to squeeze out enough money to see some hottie.

The best thing to do is to really set up one fund and only draw from that.  Some of us have to do that so our wifes or S/O's don't find out.  If you leave a little money for next time, then there can be a next time.

Once you lose your credit rating it is difficult if not impossible to get it back not matter how much money you make.

While the little guy tends to get impatient when the file is in a building phase, it keeps me from overspending or using funds earmarked for family needs.  'Course, it requires self-control, a commodity that's generally in short supply when it comes to satisfying them animal instincts...

I hear what everyone here is saying about finances today.
Economy is still too tight for alot of us here.

What I do when im short$ and horny is go to my favorite AMP parlor for an hour of fun.

Nobody should be running up big credit card bills or risking bankruptcy to participate in this hobby.  If you don't have the money to pay for it when you do it then just say no.  You should not charge your dates on credit cards unless you can pay them off at the end of the month.

If you can't afford to see the lady of your dreams then see someone less expensive.  If you can't afford to see your favorite every week then see her once a month.

I know that it is sometimes hard to do when some of the guys in the chatrooms or on the discussion boards are talking about taking their ATF's on a week long trip to Paris, Vegas or wherever but it is simply crazy to spend money you don't have on a luxury like this.

If you find that you can't control yourself in relationship to this hobby then please seek professional help.  This type of addiction is no different than substance or gambling addictions.

After all of your comments I realize I have a lot of company.  I know the economy will get better and I'll be able to pay the girls back so when one of my three ATF's called today I said sure and took her up on her credit offer.  What can they do sue me?
