When I started in the business I toured through the various madam who owned agencies/brothels. This was 1998-1999 so not many used the internet. After touring for 10 months, I took 2 years off for school. When I returned to the business, the internet was involved.... an agency owner named me- This new name stuck around for a year or so then I stopped working for the agency and went independent again. Around the same time, a threat to my private life suggested I change my name.

I was surprised at how many men actually remembered me from my touring days as Victoria from Seattle (*especially in DC and Philly which were two cities I had toured in the late 90's *) so I changed my name back to Victoria or Tori for short. Thus Candace became my "formerly known by" name.

A comment on the mention of finding reviews- TER will link the reviews if they are made aware of the name change, so linking reviews isn't always an issue. Name changes can happen as a result of a private life being compromised or it can also be because of nefarious behavior by a provider. In some cases, as you have suggested, a provider will change their name to try to put distance between themselves and bad performance or undesirable behavior. In the past, TER was extremely helpful to hobbyists by linking old reviews that were less than stellar with a new name, this helped to protect unsuspecting men who benefited from this advanced warning.  Local boards are also helpful in detecting providers with a known record of substandard service who change their name. Usually a TER regular will notice the similarities and post something.    ~T

Was wondering how you may view providers that change their name often or even time to time. Any particular reason or do you feel that it implies anything.

I have noticed that many unreliable/rip off providers do this. Then again well reviewed providers dont always keep the same name, for example many agency girls who may start work with an agency that already has a girl by the same name.

Any thoughts??

... as you can make up your own name for them.  Personally, I use a numbering system as that is easier and more precise than pretend alpha names that the provider comes up with.  Like #57 means more to me than another just another Bambi or Crystal or Candy.

I create a database with associations from provider pretend names to real numeric mapping.

I see that all the time and if there aren't numerous reviews under one name or the other; or, if they aren't represented by good agency I move on.

do not see unreviewed ladies unless a fellow hobbyist, that I know and trust, gives me a recommendation.

One stellar lady I know changed her name to cover my butt. Spouse came across the ladies name and for privacy reasons this provider changed her name, website & the whole deal.
Quite a hardship on her part & I appreciate it greatly!

More likely she was attempting to protect herself from a potentially vindictive wife.  How did your wife happen to come across her name?

You have no clue the extent of the hardship a call from a spouse can create, the true extent of the effects to her income that situation cost her in transition (much more than a simple inconvenience._  Please Hef_da, never put another lady in such a position again.

I'm glad that you appreciate the ladies actions as being stellar.

She caught hef writing me an email.  Then when he wasn't around, her stealthy son hacked into his computer finding more...

Some of the reason I changed my name was to protect myself, but at the time it was about feeling horrible about hurting her feelings and the marriage.

I've had other gent's get caught and wives call out of mistakes made by hobbyists.  Usually they see phone records.  With Hef, it was different in we were very close as opposed to other men who've seen many providers ... I didn't feel so responsible in these situations so I didn't react by changing my name.

Hef has made another mistake that many have.  This time, they're calling it quits.  I won't be changing my name, there's nothing left to save.

I hope men read this and realize how imperative it is to double check the tracks you leave.

The Divorced Barbie Doll Posted by methuselah on humor board:

The Divorced Barbie Doll
One day a father gets out of work and on his way home he suddenly remembers that it's his daughter's birthday.

He pulls over to a Toy Shop and asks the
sales person, "How much for one of those Barbie's in the display window?"

The salesperson answers, "Which one do you mean, Sir?

We have: Work Out Barbie for $19.95, Shopping Barbie for $19.95, Beach Barbie for $19.95, Disco Barbie for $19.95, Ballerina Barbie for $19.95, Astronaut Barbie for $19.95, Skater Barbie for $19.95, and Divorced Barbie for $265.95".

The amazed father asks: "It's what?! Why is the
Divorced Barbie $265.95 and the others only $19.95?"

The annoyed salesperson rolls her eyes, sighs, and answers: "Sir..., Divorced Barbie comes with: Ken's Car, Ken's House, Ken's Boat, Ken's Furniture, Ken's Computer, one of Ken's Fri ends, and a key chain made with Ken's balls.

She changed names a few times, but she then totally shut down her website and started totally from scratch with another name-- and lower rates.

And no, she wasn't a ripoff. She was one of my favorites.

She decided to switch from massage/BD/SM to GFE and to reinvent herself and start all over.

It made sense.

Someone in my personal life accidentally received my autoresponder from my work account (complete with link to my website)- and I REALLY did not want this person to know about my work. I think personal reasons like this are a somewhat common reason. So don't rule out a lady just because she's changed her name! Check out her history and reputation if you're unsure.

Sometimes ladies get outted and need to change their name.  Some ladies leaving agencies would like to establish a reputation apart from the agency they worked for.  Some ladies didn't think well when they first picked their name and want something more/less unique.  Sometimes ladies just get bored with their personas and create new ones.

Sometimes, yes, it is an unreliable/rip off provier trying to escape a bad reputation.  Do your homework with reviews and searching phone numbers to avoid these ones... and don't worry about the rest.
: )

Sola makes some good points.

Please do consider that if a lady changes her name for personal reasons (she has a stalker, coworkers from her other life found out, etc.) she can't exactly tell that story to every random guy who calls her.  It is, unfortunately, a hard situation.  I find that woman who are "reappearing" as a reputable provider forced into a change often announce it differently.  There's usually a hint that they have been around before.

Here was an interesting scenario.  One of the ladies I have had the pleasure of meeting (an ATF) ended up having to change her real name because of a stalker.  I thought that was awful to have to do,

There are many reasons to change a name.
I have changed my name like hell I don't know 5 times.

Once was because I left for a long time, when I came back I decided I did not like that name anymore.

Once was because LE was using an email similar to mine calling themselves MOI in a state far far away, and I did not want anyone to get snagged in a trap.

Once was because I needed to stay on the DL from a certain husbands wife, until she got bored enough and moved on.

Once was because I took a bunch of crap with the name goddessoflove

since there is already a love goddess.

I have always posted to the major members and never hid the previous names.
Just to many good reviews under
