upon their written word on TER?  that is, you like what a lady has to say- or her sense of humor...?  I have - no regrets, but I often wonder if others do likewise?  Really curious here...

I did set up a first-time visit with a lady who I was first attracted to based on her TER posts. I liked what she had to say and her sense of humor. Then I went and did the usual checks for her reviews and her web site. Liked what I saw there and was very pleased to see she was local to me. The rest is, as they say, history. And like you I have no regrets.

Now I have visited with ladies who have no TER posts, but excellent reviews. In those cases I was able to get a feel for their personalites based on the reviews and then via email exchanges. So far (and I'm still a noob) I have not had a bad experience.

I've always paid attention to what the ladies have to say on their "About Me" pages, then when I started hanging around here, I discovered a whole new world. Reading some of the ladies' posts, and getting an occasional PM sort of gives you an idea as to whether you'll have a connection or not. I've met a couple of ladies from these boards, and as you said, no regrets. There are several more I fully intend to meet someday. Some of them even know who they are already.

I am always attracted to women whos' opinions are intelligent and insightful. I think it often helps mold my decision as to whom I contact.

However, some good advice for newbies, or even men who are not sure about contacting a provider. I know this isn't part of the post, but I feel it is important:

1) PMs are not a good way to set an appointment.
  It's not that private (sorry TER) and I don't
  like discussing personal topics in a PM,
  especially if I haven't met you yet. I have
  an email address and a website, please use it.
  Plus, I don't look at TER every day. Use
  common sense here.  Email a provider, please.

2) When contacting a provider for the first time,
  already have your information about references
  on hand. If you're not sure, I can understand
  a "get to know you email" at first." After
  that, please give us the information we need.
  It gets very frustrating to have to email back
  and forth to get references from reputable
  providers.

  Also, give us your full name. If you tell
  me your name is John or Mike (especially  
  common names like these), it makes it hard to
  get references and I will probably
  not remember you, no matter how good of a
  time we've had. When someone emails
  me and says, "Hi, it's John."  Um, hello . . .
  I know a lot of Johns (pardon the pun). Have
  common sense, guys. If I've already seen you,
  then what is the problem with giving me your
  last name? Telling me it's "John from
  Philadelphia" doesn't help."

Half of the ladies I've seen were because of their posts on the boards followed up with some bantering back and forth by pm-  In all these cases the experiences were good.  A playful and intelligent personality on posts goes a long way in attracting my attention.  The corollary is that beligerant, flaming, and drama posts immediately put ladies on my DNS list.

The others were picked by reviews and research and the experiences were good.

Now, I am seeing mostly previously seen regulars that I have enjoyed friendship with, but when I do see a new lady it is based largely on either one of my regulars saying 'this is someone you must see' or one of the hobbyists I have backchannelled with a lot over time pm'ing me and telling me about a 'must see'.  These are people who know me well and I've never gone wrong on their recommendations!

I have yet to meet a lady who I've seen posts from.  I have a date with one upcoming but I was already looking at her beforehand.  I guess few TER lady writers are in my area.  
I do scan the reviews often & check out the ladies whose New Reviews come up.  I have already scannned the whole list for my city.  I do feel that realistically the NEW (good) reviews draw my attention.

Yes I do.  My ATF and I chatted on a message board on her agency's site for a few months before I finally booked an appointment with her.  Her reviews were very good but her sense of humor on the board is what really piqued my interest.

I have also seen one or two ladies based on their TER presence, not their TER reviews.

I think it is one of the greatest things about this kind of forum.

... but I have to like her for other reasons too.

Having her post gives me a reason to look her up. If she is in a crowded city, it does separate her from the pack.

I must admit, I would cut her a little slack. Posting demonstrates "attitude" which is a big factor in my book.

I do like reading the posts of some of the ladies I have ALREADY seen.  I can picture their face and voice behind the text, and it makes it a bit more fun for me.

I agree with GB (glad to see you're still out there) that the bantering back and forth can lead to good times in the future with a lady.

I can honestly say, there is one lass in Boston who I would love to see, based upon our chatter on that board.... perhaps if business takes me back to Boston!!!

I like to meet ladies who write flattering things that they pretend to have heard about me through the "grapevine". Of course most of the platitudes they heap upon me are public knowledge, but I'm touched that pretend it's something they've heard behind the scenes.

The best advertising is when you are just being yourself. It's funny how many ladies that post under aliases when they could get some really good publicity for just showing up to the party. Keep up the posts, you are very relevant to this scene.
