So how long has everybody been using this ?
How did you even find something like this 20 years ago 😭
Funny story. More than 20 years ago I was giving erotic massages and my business started booming. I asked a client. How did you hear about me? I was wondering why my phone was ringing off the hook. He said well you have reviews on the erotic review. I said what is that? so we turned on the computer and dialed up. 5 minutes later I see I have a list of reviews with my real name, my home address and my massage license attached. I blushed from head to toe. I couldn't believe that what I thought was so private was out there for everybody to see. That was around 2001. When I saw all of the sexy women's websites and reviews I knew this is what I wanted to do. So I changed my name and had someone help me build my first website and started my Heather business. It took me almost 5 years to get them to take down my reviews that had my real name and my home address. So I had a few complications along the way. Having people knock on my door and my young daughter answer and they're looking for her mom.

A drinking friend of mine was working on this site back in 2001. He pulled it up on my desktop via dialup. My mind was blown and i was hooked.
Where did that quarter century go?

with internet via your cable TV subscription, there was dial up.
A box called a modem was connected to your land line. You then placed the handset of your telephone into the cradle on the modem, and dialed up a number that would give your computer access to the internet.
It was slow as molasses, but that's what people had to use back then.
At my house we didn't get cable until 1995. By then computers had internal modems, and we got a second phone line just for the computer so we could still use the telephone if we wanted. The speed got increased around then, but still very slow by today's standards.
I'm using a wireless router connected via Verizon's cell service, and got rid of cable entirely. Speed isn't as good as Vios, but works well for streaming and is only about $20/month.
…that original dialup ASPIRED to molasses speeds. LoL

By 2001, dial up was well on it's way out. I remember through most of the 90s using dial up through. I used AOL for most things. I kept getting these free 30 day trials for Netscape. They were not very good about tracking and preventing using these over and over again. But the noise of dialing up through AOL will forever be ingrained in the minds of many.
In between cable and fiber, we also had
* ISDN
* DSL
Not great but not horrible for text-based communications.
I had been a lurker for a few years before that.
Basically, two events moderated by behavior regarding going on line for buying sexual services:
The first was my divorce, which freed up a lot of time to spend with more gals.
The second was obtaining a personal computer and going on the internet. This led me to start exploring what was out there. I was also intrigued when a gal I met at a massage parlor told me that there were sites on line where I could read reviews about gals, and find their own websites.
It didn't take long for me to find TER, and this is where I pretty much decided to play since then.
Don't get me wrong the first time I ever heard about any of these sites like this was like I'm going to say 2016 it's just frustrating trying to figure this out to be honest with you 🤣

I have been in the hobby over 20+yrs but didn't know anything about or find this site until I moved here to Phoenix almost 18yrs ago. Been on and off here ever since.

approaching two years (I know, an order of magnitude less than others posting here) but it feels like just a moment ago!
Not sure of the year but is was dial up. I am guessing 2001. Found TER rather quickly, signed up for P-411 about 5 to 7 years later. It was a wild time. I remember talking with a few of my buddies about the internet. One of them came clean with " no matter what I start off looking at I always end up on porn " so true. We had a great laugh over that as it was the same for all of us !
My first encounter was a girl from PD late last year. I started seeing mentions of TER in ads and started digging, and found this site.
I'll never use any other site. I will follow links to look at pics and profiles, but if they have no TER reviews, it's a full stop.
