I've been wondering about you out in the workforce

So what are some of the things you have said in public that you shouldn't have said or done? Was there any repercussions or did you just realize it was something you should have shut your mouth about? We all got diarrhea of the mouth at times, some more than others :D

I had the privilege of watching a guy learn the hard way that he should think before he speaks. I was at a restaurant this morning over hearing a guy yelling hate-filled comments about "all" Muslims. Which that in itself was bad and he got a lot of people pissed at him. Like I said, he was LOUD about it. Well Mr bright guy just had to take it a step further and speak about planning to (get rid of) mosques. So needless to say, the staff called police and lo and behold that sort of talk is very serious. And yes I (and another 10 or so people) was nice enough to smile at him as he got escorted away.

So this episode got me to wondering what others have said/done. We all have. I am normally a very calm person but I have had 2 moments where I really should have shut my mouth. Both were many years ago.

Once was some very angry things I said to my old cell provider. Nothing ever happened, but I could have been in big trouble for things I said. Oops.

The second time was at the airport in another city. We all know how idiotic some of their rules are ... "Optional, take your shoes off". Well I opted not to do so and I pass the metal detector just fine. They just had to have a bug up their butt about my shoes lol. Apparently they really don't mean that it is optional and do not like it when you point out what optional means. (argued a bit with them).  Ok, here is a tip... no matter how stupid something is, best not to argue about it and it is REALLY not a good idea to insult the lady who cavity searches you. So I may laugh about this now but I sure the heck know to never argue at the airport again!!! Seriously, that was NOT fun. I do not care what they say to me, I will be one compliant mf!

Had a meeting at my old job encouraging us to sell more high end Hvac equipment. I thought the guy from the manufacture was just a salesman, so I said the stupid SOB's we got can't put regular shot end they are really gonna F this fancy stuff up!!! Well that salesman turned out to be the district manager for the manufacture. Our GM turned about 3 shades of red and walked out. Passed him in hall later and got politely told to get the hell out of the office. Called me in later and I could tell if I said anything other than yes sir I'm a dumbass I was out the door. Held my raise for a month and made me call the district mangager and apologize, he was actually pretty cool. Then I had to call the sales rep and apologize he was a dick!! He actually ended up being our GM about a year later I quit soon after that.

In regards to the hobby, which of course is not in public, i don't say too much.  i usually take care of business and move on.

In real life my mouth got me in trouble many times while under the influence, whether in public or in private.  I was the kind of drinker that felt I had to give un-needed advice and had all the answers for everyone's problems.  All but mine.  I made an ass out of myself too many times.

Solution.... I quit drinking.

When I was in the military I'd say some off the wall things.  I was a huge fan of sexual innuendos and dirty jokes and observations.  People laughed or looked at me strangely but I was around a bunch of guys and they didn't care.

When I stop providing and have to get back into the work force, I know my mouth will be the biggest obstacle to keep under control lol.

had been going to physical therapy after a nasty accident , after some recovery down time I started pt .
I guess it's one of those things you think you are going to get a massage only to find wow that hurts .
So he does this thing called myofascial release it's a hands on approach . I am laying on the table and he does this thing to my T band and I start screaming except he has his hands on me , his face inches from my face and looking me directly in the eyes to see my reactions so he can gauge his pressure etc . And it goes a little something like this
Oooooooooooooo , mmmmmmmmmmmmm , AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAA OMG ! Omg ..ahhhhhhhhh. Pant pant pant ,
are you kidding me right Now ! FU@k ......  ! Ahhhhhhh  what are you doing To me ? Ooooomg I have never felt anything like this before in my LIFE  !!!! OMG God help Me !
Now I finally get embarrassed because it sounds a lot like he is fuc@ing me in the room so I decide to i HAVE to tone it down ,I bite the pillow , really ? Like that's totally helpful , looks much much better lol  biting , growling so then I begin to laugh out of embarrassment biting the pillow snarling  staring him in the eyes . Ahem , yeah wish I was able to not do that . Kendall Lyn

The problem with this thread is, the anecdote you share might get you recognized.

I've thought of a couple of stories I could share, but both are memorable enough that if someone I know reads it, they'll know it's me.  I am not particularly interested in outing myself at this point, even to my friends.

You might need politeness retraining or maybe just a good hypnotist, lol. I will not say the F word, I will not say the F word...

The last time I wanted to stop cursing, I would smack myself in the face every time I said a curse word. After all the "Damm, that bitch is crazy" looks, from cars at a stop light, I got the picture.
