I've encountered this little piece of etiquette while reading some websites. If it's a lady I'm going to see, I do write it on the envelope as she requires. Just wondering, I have my reasons why, but always made me think.

I stopped using them a while back (after I had played here for 6 months or so).  Once I realized that they are of absolutely NO value whatsoever!

Many gals would rather not have an envelope, and for those who do, well none has said to me that she won't play because I didn't use an envelope.

And if they did, I would gladly pick up my $$$ and move on to the next one.

If any gal is that dumb to think there is some type of protection here, then that is one I care to not be around (unless she is really hot...and I still won't use the envelope)

if LE wants you bad enough (and if you are a poor screener or take unnecessary risks) they will find a way. The protocol just makes some people think it is a safety net....

I've retired from hobbying activities and I started doing it way back in 1987. During that time, I put the "donation" in an envelope exactly ONE time. I only did it that time because I saw a visiting lady and she gave specific instructions that our date would end immediately if the donation wasn't in an envelope. Seems like a waste of paper to me.

Interesting in that I have seen instructions to make it a plain envelope with nothing written on it. I do put the donation in an envelope as that is what the providers I have seen requested. It's not a big deal. When/If I see a provider that doesn't request it, I won't do it.

The envelope thing (with specific instructions to leave it out in plain sight and don't mention it or hand it to the lady) was even used on one of the CSI or NCIS television shows when the story line was someone killing men that saw escorts.

I live to used the envelope for convenience. Hate re counting the cash in public.  Rather make sure its right before I arrive.

But I guess it's much better than writing "This $500 cash is for P4P, in exchange for 1 hour of no-strings-attached sex".

Even more funny would be if there was a fine print on the envelope that says: "All statement above is considered work of fiction fantasy. Anything that happens after money is exchanged is a matter of personal business between two consenting adults".

Actually, now that I think about it, maybe for legal purposes it might not a bad idea to put that fine print on the envelope... as a last ditch defense to cover one's ass??? lmao  (Any hobby-related lawyers out there?)

When I came back last year, the envelope reared its head.  Silly, but if that's what a girl wants, why should I give a shit?

Actually, the entire CSI series (original and spin-offs) has been instrumental in making escorting and fetish play seem not quite so out of the ordinary - or so bad. It isn't that they (the writers) condone it so much as they acknowledge we providers exist; we escorts aren't always the boogeyman anymore.

It's not going to protect a provider in a sting operation from arrest any more than asking, "Are you a cop?" Many ladies think the cops have to answer this question honestly. They don't.

The one which makes me laugh the most is the ad with the disclaimer, "this is not an ad for an illegal act. It is not an ad soliciting an act of prostitution....." and all the other stupid "disclaimers" which ladies think will protect them. Disclaimers only protect someone advertising for the LEGAL sale of goods and services. Those "disclaimers" on CL, BP and other sites under "adult services" are red flags they are ads for prostitution. How many "disclaimers" do you see in ads on regular dating sites?

There are many good screening services for doing background checks. Use them or risk arrest on every call.
