I fully admit to looking at those pageant photos and thinking that there was something awfully suspicious about the parents, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I hate even thinking about what it has been like for them over the years - knowing that everyone assumed they'd 'gotten away with' killing their own child.

I wish I could somehow apologize for even thinking it, but I'm sure that couldn't come close to making up for the hell they've undoubtedly gone through.

Yes, I know what you mean. From certain circumstances in the past and resulting in "jumping to conclusions", I've tried not to judge anyone before their time is due. Don't feel bad, just change your mindset for the next time. :)

Hugs,
Ciara

The same discernment and adamant need for safeguards and quantifiable facts in respect to DNS lists throughout the hobbying community should fall under the same "Trial by media” concerns.

Add the Natalee Holloway case to the list of "trial by media" - especially that short blonde on Fox News.

What a sad deal.  I'm so happy for the family for this chance of getting some kind of justice.  I also read that the monster that did that to JonBenet admitted to killing her.

My heart goes out to her family who has had to suffer so badly.

All I could think about was JonBenet's mother passes away just before he was caught. I found this to be so saddening. But then I read that one month before she died, the PIs told her of the lead....which made me feel a little better.
I think that child rapists should have a few limbs removed, infected with some horrible disease, a tattoo covering the whole face that says "rapist," made to drink flaming cups of diarrhea everyday, etc.
Bans against cruel and unusual punishment should not apply to child rapists.....they should have a remorse punishment and forced to live a life a suffering.
The man was a teacher, and it wouldn't surprise me if it were her teacher. A six year old would trust a teacher in her home because she wouldn't know any better. How else could he have gotten her into the basement on Christmas eve?

Isn't it odd, that this broke right after Patsy Ramsey's death.  Don't exonerate the Ramsey's yet, the facts have yet to come out.

They must have published dozens of screaming accusations.... Daddy Did IT !!!!!!.... for example... and made a fortune in checkout line sales in the process.... do you imagine they'd have the decency.... the plain courage to face up to what they'd said, or plainly suggested about the Ramsey family over the course the years ? Fancy that.... the cover of the next Inquirer howls "WE WERE WRONG !!! WE EXPLOITED THIS SCANDAL TO MAKE A LOT OF MONEY !!! WE'RE SUCH ASSHOLES!!! FORGIVE US FOR OUR GREED AND STUPIDITY !!!" Naaaaah.... like all cowards they'll pretend they never said those shameful things or stoked public opinion.... WHO ? Little us ? JonBenet who ? Oh.... ha ha... that was so... like, years ago.... we were only doing our jobs... ha ha.... oh destroyed some people in the process ? Oh you don't really believe that do you ? It was all in good fun and everything... say... gotta run... great talking to you"....

My cousin is a former Miss Ga. She judged Jon'Benet and formed a friendship with Patsy the years they lived in Ga. Patsy was a person you instantly liked when you met her, and Jon' Benet was the light of her life. I knew she didn't do it! I've prayed for this day, I'm just so sorry Patsy Died last june, she lost her battle with breast cancer.
God bless they're souls, now no one can hurt them anymore.

...I think we all know that the tabloids are way too chicken shit to issue such an apology.  But somehow I don't think John Ramsey is holding his breath.  As for the murderer & child rapist, John Karr, they should FRY HIM.  And no, I don't mean the electric chair.  That's too easy.  They should put him in an 8ft. cast iron skillet with 6" of cooking oil and turn the heat up to medium-high and slow cook that asswipe until he's crispy brown.  I'm with siobhan that child rapists & murderers shouldn't have protection from cruel & unusual punishment.

They actually live just around the corner from my residence in Georgia. It was very intense when Patsy passed away. (*Patsy & JonBenet both have graves near by*)

The media has been insane in the neighborhood since yesterday. (But she had her life taken by Ovarian Cancer not Breast Cancer)

I personally never understood why the media grilled the Ramsey family as much as they did. From everything I have been exposed to, they seem like decent people.......  then again, most people who live around my residence, both in Atlanta, DC and Florida think I am "normal" too

You never really know what is going on behind closed doors. My only hope is that the truth does prevail and the story is put to rest.

they were acting suspiciously after the murder. They flew to Georgia the day after the body was found. They refused a police lie detector. They would not do separate interviews with the police. They were more intent on covering themselves than finding the killers. If this guy really did it, I am still curious as to why they were obstructing the cops.

I wouldn't stay in a house, that somehow someone was able to break into and than violently rapped and murdered my 7 year old daughter.I  myself would not feel safe there in Colorado, had it been me.I don't blame them for going home to Ga.
As for the police they never pursued any other suspects other than Jon and Patsy. The evidence doesn't even match up with what the police said happened. No one knows who, but the Ramsey's didn't do it, and they have every right to protect themselves.

to clear those closest to the victim first. They did not allow that and hindered the investigation. You are right. They do have every right to protect themselves. Unfortunately they went so far that their daughter's killer was not found. Polly Klaas's dad and Jessica Lunsford's dad answered all police questions and were quickly cleared so that the police could widen the investigation. Had the Ramsey's done the same perhaps things would have ended differently.
And by the way, by the looks of it this guy didn't kill her either so the suspicion still lingers.
