Doctors ask questions so as to offer the best advice.   Honest answers will get the best advice.

Doctors are not policemen.   They are not religious leaders.   They may have opinions, but professional ethics should prevail (or find yourself another doctor.)

Under the new laws since ObamaCare what you say to your doctor is "supposed" to be confidential, but your doctor is now required to file certain forms that go to the government, I don't know about you, but I don't trust the government to keep my records private any more than I trust Equifax to keep my financial information private.

If I were a sex worker and I was asked "why" I was getting tested, I would give the least specific answer I could. Something like "just to be sure" should suffice, I would NOT confide in my doctor that I was either a slut or a sex worker as you just don't know if it will ever come back to bite you in the ass.

I have never had my dick inspected for STI, I have always had a "fully clothed" blood test done, and I too do not tell the doctor I am a john, I guess I lied when I said EVERYONE knows I am a whore mongering pig. lol Actually the last several blood tests I have gotten where not at a doctors office, but at a testing lab and no one asked me any intrusive questions.

Last year, for the first time in my life, I caught an STD. The symptoms matched up with either chlamydia or gonorrhea, so I went to an urgent care center. There wasn't any visible inflammation, so the doctor thought that a urinary tract infection was also possible. She wanted to take a blood draw and wait for lab results before prescribing any medication. So I told her that I most likely caught it from a prostitute that I had sex with about ten days before symptoms showed up. Based on that additional information, the doctor decided that it wouldn't hurt to immediately treat me for both chlamydia and gonorrhea. I got the prescriptions and headed straight to the pharmacy, and my symptoms were gone in days.

There is no (enforced) law anywhere in the USA against being promiscuous.  I agree it may be best to steer clear of admitting sex work, but even there I wouldn't be paranoid about it.  However I can't think of any legal ramifications of admitting to being promiscuous.    The last scarlet letter company went out of business ages ago.

When I first started seeing my latest doctor, I told him I wanted a full STD test. He asked why and I said I am active with a new partner and I want to get tested (which was true). I also said that I believe in an abundance of caution and I want to get tested regularly, even when I'm not active.  No more questions from him and he always schedules the tests when asked. After all, it's probably somewhat refreshing to see a patient that wants to be proactive about health. Although I am obviously not THAT proactive about other areas of health - like double, double cheeseburgers.)
.
However, I have since noted two problems with my current provider: First, unless the doctor specifically instructs the lab to do so, STD test results are not posted to my personal medical web page. This means that I can not show the results to any partner I am seeing. I have to call the nurse and get her to email me a letter stating my tests are negative.  Next, the lab takes 3-5 days to complete the tests and post results. If I'm meeting a POT SB, I want a fresh test and need it now.
.
So I took a cue form the porn star pro's I occasionally see and set up an account with a major lab that serves the adult video industry.  They don't ask questions, probably assuming that I am "male talent" somewhere (which is pretty funny considering how old, fat and fugly I am). I get my results the following day in the AM, meaning I can schedule a meet & greet or BCD within 24-36 hours and arrive freshly tested. Cost is relatively high at $175 per test (compared to free through my insurance), but worth it for me as I only use them when I need to get tested quickly.

. .  .or other providers and clinics that service a lot of LGBTQ+ folks. Everyone is having a lot of sex. It becomes less weird.

I have said that I am pretty sexually active, the end, and I specify the full panel test and then double check to make sure they've gotten all the tests down.

Even though I always do everything covered, at clinics I sometimes lie to get the full panel that I want i.e., say that I have a lot of uncovered sex a lot with all genders (the latter is pretty true).

Beyond that, they are not allowed to hem and haw. They have to keep their opinions to themselves. Afterall, it's not a crime to have a lot of sex. But if they're unprofessional about that?

Change your doc. I've never had issues at planned parenthood though.

Do you still tell your doctors you're fucking around? My doctor is a friend of the family.  I would never go to him for STD testing.  What would I tell him?  I'm not going to tell him I'm seeing hooker or that I'm promiscuous.  The only thing I could tell him is that I'm worried my wife is fucking around, and that's not much better.

I don't think he'd violate confidentiality, but it would be mighty uncomfortable to be out to dinner with our wives knowing that he knows those secrets.

I get tested for my Testosterone and estrogen levels 4 times a year and when I separated from my last ex wife, I told my doc that I'm having a great time being a single guy in the swinging lifestyle and I like to be able to show a new partner a clean test.

He just grunts in a jealous kind of way and orders the tests for me.

If you tell your doctor you are a sex worker, or visit them; that information will be documented in your medical records. If those records are ever disclosed, your secret is out.  There is physician-patient confidentiality and  Federal and State laws ostensibly protect your privacy, but there are exceptions that allow disclosure. Medical records are produced to third parties for various reasons every day.

It seems that the stripper slide is not safe sex unless there is a condom on the guy. Or maybe I got it from her BBBJ.

I'm glad that I was honest with the doctor, because the antibiotics worked fast. And the tests somehow came back negative, which means that I wouldn't have gotten the antibiotics based on just those tests, and I would have had to wait until the symptoms got worse.

They do a full screen with blood tests and exam for about 190.  A few years back I had shaved my pubes for a "date" just for shits and giggles.  Told the wife I was doing it for her to entice her into more sex. (Didnt work obviously).  To make a long story short, I ended up with an ingrown hair at the topside base of my cock.  I freaked.  It got infected and I had a sore "bump" there.  I was freaked out because I thought I might have gotten an STI.  A quick trip to Urgent Care put my fears to rest.  I told the doc that I had multiple partners and that this was confidential because I was "seeing someone" seriously.  Paid out of pocket for some antibiotics that fixed me up within 3 days and the wife never had a clue.  I return to that same place every 3-4 months for "peace of mind" testing even though I always cover up for sex (if not BBBJ)

I always tell my doctors that I am an escort, otherwise they give me a hard time about getting tested as often as I do. I have received nothing but professional responses and doctors caring about my health and well-being. They take the opportunity to ask me about safe sex practices, make sure I am doing it of my own volition (not being coerced), and even warn me of STI outbreaks in the area.

I have a healthcare background. So, maybe I'm a little biased. But this is an extremely dumb ass question. How the fuck does a Doctor Know , care or can identify your  cooter as a hooker Cooter? I mean even if your shit is hanging and flapping in the wind. I doubt there is a way to identify any Cooter as being a hooker Cooter!

Wtf is he an avenger? Ability to
Identify your cooter abilities or mileage?  Lol

You have to do some research on the internet. Curiously one of the places was a local bathhouse? The problem was I had to pay the admission to get in and get tested.

No, they cannot find stuff like that out. They can only speculate based off activities that you claim or that are obvious. And then personality. If your a escort/hobbyist/hooker/john it is nothing they can do because they have to know the details of the exchange. A cheaper way you can go about your life is to get the home kits and just keep track of your sexual activity. if your can't look your doctor in the eye. You should stop seeing him/her because it is there job to be understanding of what you want.

...about my health concerns and what he thinks. As part of an ongoing monitoring program, I have blood work done every 6 months and we include an STI test in the works. He knows that I'm an adult and that I'm sexually active, so he doesn't ask WHY I want to include the additional testing -- my guess is that he's satisfied that I"m being a responsible active adult.

I went to a website that is a STD check dot com and paid $198.00 online. (10 panel test) Skipped the doctor and went straight to Quest Diagnostic  for the test. I got the results back in 2 days (negative)- I gave them a real name but you can be "Heywood Jablome" if you want.  I wanted the anonymity and not have the conversation with my doctor. Also with my insurance deductible, it was a cheaper option. - highly recommend.

That's fine when your test comes back negative. But if you had tested positive for an STD, Quest isn't able to write a prescription for you.
