What are the tools that no hobbyist should leave home without?  Any I have missed?

GPS - Absolutely essential for finding those incalls.

Disposable Cell Phone - I have tried several providers.  TrakPhone is who I would recommend.  No need for identifying information.  No BS fees.  Great rates.

TER Membership - So very useful.

Post Office Box - Get your lingerie, pills, or whatever else you need sent to your private box.

Box of Envelopes - I keep a box in my car now.  I hate forgetting one, and prefer using them.

Hidden Camera Detector -  I haven't shelled out the $100 for this, and I also don't know how the lady would react to me scanning the room.  Anyone try this?

clean underwear
hair brush, after shave to "re-do" after you've had a shower at her place
gum / breath mints - for before and after

Scrub the GPS address from you system (previous destinations can sink you!)

I usually count on the lady to bring any toys that please her, but I do carry two small powerful vibrators in their original wrapper.  If the lady likes one or both and we use them, I of course leave them since I never reuse such things. The real essentials for me: my brand of soap and shampoo and deodorant so I smell the same coming out after a shower as I did going in.

As long as I have been doing this, I always also enter with a sense of excitement and a little fluttering nervousness.

I agree with you on everything but the erection.  I leave that up to the lady to bring out.  Walking around with that lump in my pants just draws too much unwanted attention.

I have toys listed on my gift page and am always delighted to see such thoughtfullness from a gentlemen.

I don't know about the TV camera finder.  Who do you think is doing the recording, she, LE or the hotel?

In any case, I think that most providers, upon seeing you whip this thing out, will toss you out the door because you'll weird them out.

Other than envelopes, which I have at home, and a TER membership, I have none of these items. Never needed them.

What's most essential to me is careful research to minimize surprises and disappointments, and my appointment preparation rituals, which includes head to to scrubbing.

... I think I'd want that camera scanner! LOL

I was warned by one provider that a small agency recorded the sessions.  I don't know for what purpose, but I could just imagine showing up on some amateur voyeurism site.

Yeah, it was more the weirdness factor than the money that prevented me from buying it.

it's for an overnight and i have:

floral arrangements aimed at the lady's preferences

snacks and bottles of water for recharging (most likely for me)

a bottle of her favorite wine or champagne

she has to put up with my favorite music (so far no complaints)

reservations at a fine restaurant for the intermezzo

There are two types of detectors.  The first one is for wireless cameras, and that might be useful if we did not have so many wireless things in this world.

The second type looks for reflections from lenses.  It would take so long to scan a room with one of these devices, that your time would be up by the time you finished.   Furthermore, it is quite easy to filter the lens so that the reflection would be diminished so that the goofy gadget would not even work for you.
