What if a provider told you she was positive but it has been more than 5 days? Per the CDC, you are “probably” not contagious, but would you keep the date or reschedule? Since covid isn’t as deadly as it used to be, I wasn’t sure what everyones thoughts were.

Thus it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.  Each person has to decide how much risk they’re willing to accept, for themselves and those close to them.

As for me, if she were still positive, I’d reschedule if possible, or pass if rescheduling wasn’t practical.  And kudos to the provider for letting you know her situation.

As for the deadliness of omicron, there’s been different experiences on that...

...and it would suck if she was visiting from out of town. But even 2+ years into this covid mess there are still plenty of unknowns. I love mongering as much as the next monger(ette), and I might take the chance if I were single. But possibly putting my family at risk is a deal breaker for me.

Did she say what kind of test she had? I've found that the rapid antigen tests are not very accurate. Did she have symptoms?

A lot would depend on the situation I was in at the time. I already had covid and it was no big deal. If I was really looking forward to seeing her, especially if she was from out of town and an infrequent visitor, I'd probably go for it. If she comes to town every month or two or if she was local I'd probably wait a few weeks.

Either way it doesn't matter, as was stated previously it's your health and your decision alone.

Whether it was me or her that tested positive 5 days ago.  Don't care if it was covid or a common cold.  I don't like getting sick and think it's wrong to expose anyone else. Huge pet peeve is someone dragging their sick ass into the office because they think they are that important.

more providers who shrug off minor illnesses like colds would offer an option to reschedule if they have something like that, even though it might only be an inconvenience for me.  Too many just take a Mucinex and go through with the session.  The manifest no symptoms because of the meds, so you don't even know until a day or two later that they gave you something.  Like you, I would prefer not to get it at all, no matter how minor they think it is.

Too many providers are quick to call out a guy for cancelling but nowadays, it’s 50/50 whether the “cold” you have is truly one or covid. Thanks for the feedback. I was just curious what some thoughts were.
