I would be concerned.

If it was me I would be concerned. Depending on what he had done, they may have had to open an artery in his leg to put a stint in and the guys I knew who had this they didn't even want them driving a car to work or sitting too long. I know it is rough on the guys but if any artery was opened they usually are very concerned about any activity until it heals completely, the problem is the guys usually feel so much better with restored blood circulation.

I have a friend who wants to play soon. He just had a heart attack last week and now he wants to get drunk and party with me. Should I worry?

i was thinking the same thing, but at the same time i dont want to upset him and make him feel old and not wanted.

Dear Vivievixen:
The questions that you want to ask will be of a nature that you would want to ask a cardiologist. Although sex is an enjoyable activity please keep in mind that you could die from sexual activity as well. The heart has to be strong enough to withstand the frenetic changes to the cardiovascular system that sex can put it under.
Keep in mind that several years ago the head football coach as UCLA died of a heart attack after engaging in copulatory activity with a prostitute. So sex can have some deleterious consequences.

I'd expect less time if you did all the work... ;)

I was back to work in a week and a half. Though I was younger, and the circumstances were probably different 'why' I had one, the doc had no doubt I'd bounce back compared to a seventy year old fatty that ate chicharones morning, noon, and night.

Deep-fried pig-fat, for those not in the know. Damn good in a burrito with beans and red or green chile, btw... ;)

I have heard that aspirin (And it must be aspirin, not just any pain reliever.), being a blood thinner, will help to prevent a heart attack.

So, if you do decide to party with this guy, at least have him pop of few aspirin just prior to the activity.

If I was you, I'd ask for a doctor's note too - seriously.  Who needs having a guy drop dead on you?  (It happens plenty too often in this business.)

Not a doc, but I've taken aspirin for years.  You are correct that it's a blood thinner and can prevent heart attacks to an extent, but it's not a panacea and won't really help prevent damage from stressing the body too soon after a heart attack.  Still, virtually everyone can benefit from a daily aspirin dose of the 81 mg type.  Not the full 300 mg version.

He's not playing with a full deck so get ready to call 911. It's up to you to know this is a bad choice for him and try to convice him to play safe. Ask him to talk with his doctor on any limitations he might have. Also be ready to handle a man who may not perform as well as he use to. This might cause stress on this gentleman and he might try to continue even though his body says stop.

The medication given as anti-clot and lower blood pressure does cause problems with getting an erection. Also taking the little blue pill is not safe so soon after surgery.

We are talking about a potentially fatal event here. Yes, even if he won't, you should take it very seriously.

After reading everone's response, i chose not to party with my friend at that time.  I need a  doctor's note damn it,lol. Thanks to all for sharing you opinions and thoughts,

xoxo

but my question is How serious? & What was done about it?   It seems to me that this is too soon.  Has he cleared vigorious exercise with his doctor?   Even in the passive role, there is going to be some heart stress.   Many times a mild heart attack is the warning before "The Big One".   I respectfully suggest, you don't want to be with him if a Big One happens.   Have you planned for calling 911 & doing nude CPR until the Rescue gets there...  grabbing your clothes & heading to the bathroom while EMS does their thing?
I don't want to put him down either.  But are you ready to be put at risk of outting?   Is he married?

My thought is to get the answers or reschedule in a few weeks.

thats he's at least 5 days late for getting laid. Leave the alcohol alone though. Sex is of a cardiovascular nature and thus good for the strengthening of his largest muscle.

JK; his doctor will let him know when sexual activity is alright.

I ALWAYS follow MY doctors instructions!

Pinnochio out------LOL

In rereading...  I really don't like the sound of "getting drunk" and partying...   When he comes to, if he comes to, tell him how great the sex was!!

Shouldn't Worry-He should be the one worrying!!!!  I would suggest meeting him at a hotel rather than a normal incall location that is near either a hospital or the morgue and that you pre-program 911 into his cell phone-don't leave any finger prints and get the donation up front!

the answer is NO. The shock to the body after a heart attack, although not obvious (even to the victim), can last up to a YEAR. Add the pile of medications - most designed to lower, NOT increase, the stress on the heart - and alcohol, which lowers your blood pressure, and you're talking about a situation where it's going to be MUCH more difficult for him to achieve flagpole status than it was before. The harder he gets, and the closer he is to ejaculation, the more stress he places DIRECTLY on his heart. Give him a gentle, friendly SMACK UPSIDE THE HEAD and tell him to chill for a while! And, in a while, when he calls you back, tell him to MAKE SURE he brings his Nitro! He should recover fully, but, even taking into account individual variances and severity of the episode, it's gonna be a LOT longer than a week...
