So I was supposed to see a Girl A Saturday and I brought exactly the right dollar amount for an hour session. She stood me up and I scrambled to find a plan B. I only had enough time for a half session, which was $150 for Girl B. It's not easy to break a Benjamin where I was at the time.
I drove to Girl B location and had an nice 30 minutes. I put 2 Benji's down, and did not ask for change, essentially tipping girl B $50. I would have liked to ask for the change but I chickened out.
Should I have asked for change? Is it poor reflection on a hobbyist if he doesn't bring exact amount and asks for change? This has happened before and on a few occasions I've asked for change and a few more I've not.
Your thoughts?

"This has happened before and on a few occasions I've asked for change and a few more I've not."

The only thing that comes to mind for me anyway is if you have to nickel and dime a provider and be asking for change on "a few occasions", you are in the totally wrong hobby. Geesh.

Perhaps doing model ship building will not be as costly and when you need a refund for some reason the hobby store will likely give it to you.

WTF

so you should not do so.  You lay down the envelope where she says, and do not refer to it or money every again.

You could have stopped at a convenience store, bought something you could use like some groceries, etc., and broken the bill that way.

Now if it happens with a provider you know well, maybe then you could ask, but it won't raise your stature in her eyes.

I didn't nickel and dime her, and I didn't ask for a refund.
She told me her rate was $150 for 30 minutes. All I had was 2 $100 bills. Is it out of the question to ask for change?

Never ask a lady for change! Its very tacky, rude and disrespectful. The ladies are not banks, if you don't have the correct ammount there are plenty of places you could have stopped at to break a large bill.

I always bring extra in different denominations so on the very rare occassions when I've had to quickly find a Plan B, this hasn't been a problem. Plus there are ATMs everywhere.

Plus, I usually tip anyways.

Most ladies won't mind having 2 benjamins and 5 jacksons in the envelop. That way you'll have change when you need it.

"Its not easy to break a Benjamin where I was at, at the time."

I'm assuming where you were at, was not a bank.

But, when you were with the woman you were seeing, was she wearing a name tag that said Bank of America?

Did her service menu include providing change for currency?

Its NOT her F...ing job!  She doesnt have a cash till at her disposal.

Money is one of those things that you NEVER discuss, or bring up in any shape, form or fashion.

Shame on you for even thinking of putting her in such a compromising position.  Be glad she able to accommodate you on such short notice and be happy.

Money should never be discussed at any point during the appointment.... I personally never carry any money on me(for safety reasons)and a guy asking for change would raise red flags.

Everybody knows or ought to know that money is never discussed during an appointment. Anything beyond her rate that happens to find its way into the envelope is hers. It was placed there voluntarily.

It is not reasonable under such circumstances to expect a woman to make change.

One thing missing from this equation is that it is NOT the end of the world to miss getting laid on a particular day. So nobody has a gun to the hobbyist's head. He could just as easily have put it off til the next month.

Putting it off for 20 minutes to find change is one thing, to put it off till the next month is fucking insane.

If fifty bucks means that much to a man, maybe another hobby like model airplanes as another poster suggested might be in order. He can get all the fucking change he needs at the model airplane store. rofl

Yeah, I agree -- a month is too long.

But, sheesh, I include an extra $50 in an envelope without giving it a thought; and I'm not Warren Buffet.

I show up to appointments all the time without correct change. I don't use envelopes, I just seperate whatever the donation is and leave it on a dresser. If I don't have the correct amount I round it up to the nearest hundred or whatever denomination I happen to have. The thought of asking for change has never entered my mind.

The only time I have ever asked a provider for change was in leaving a tip after the session. I have been known to offer to change a fifty into a hundred if the donation was, let's say $250. I will only do this after the session, when we are already comfortable with each other, and only to give more money, never to get money back. Being frugal is one thing, being a cheap ass is quite another.

I guess I'm the oddball here. I woudn't have a problem with being asked for change. Its happened before, and I'm sure it will happen again. This is a business underneath all of the acronyms and fantasy. Can anyone think of ANY other business transaction where you would be uncomfortable expecting change back? When you stop for gas and buy $10 worth of gas and pay with a $20, do you tell the attendant to keep the change? No. There is nothing at all wrong with asking for change back.

Never talk about money on the first date. Never ask for change. Bad form and could get you in trouble. I would never ask and if I wad a provider I would NEVER see a man who did again.  Too much risk and kinda rude as well.
