Shouldn’t you know when is best for you? It’s your life. Live it the way you choose. Do you.

For us it is !!!!
For providers it is for when you want them to pay you.
Really for everyone is a personal, emotional, and financial decision.

I’ve known a couple very popular providers, who sadly couldn’t accept / realize time had caught up with them… their business just steadily evaporated to the point they couldn’t support themselves.  One realized “time was up” and moved back in with her elderly parents.  The other is still trying to survive … trying to con anyone she can to help her with a hotel room for the night or a few dollars to help her.
Very sad…. That neither one had a plan for older age or saved any money from the peak of the career when they both grossed several hundred thousand dollars a year.

Sadly, people do not always possess that self awareness.

I am 43, and realistically know I will probably want to retire from this profession within the next 10 years or so. I have had people ask me why I don't buy a bigger house or a new car because I can afford it. I save and invest! I have no car payment, no credit card or school loan debt, and I will have my house paid off in about a year.  I know we would like to point the finger at sex workers, but being flush with cash but having very poor money management skills can catch up with people in any industry. It just goes back to the fact that it is never how much money you earn, it is how much money you spend vs how much money you save.

Couldn't have said it better BP..

I was wondering if he is talking about retiring from mongering or from line of work, or if the post is meant for hookers. I guess no point in asking because you are not likely to get a cogent response.

Very well said.  And congratulations to you for saving and planning for your later years.  You are obviously a very wise person.

I know a lady who only started in this business about three years ago. She saves and invests and is hoping to be out within two years and start her own legit business.

I am very happy to hear stories like that. I also know a lady who is in her early 60's now and has no idea when she'll stop or how she'll make it - no end in sight for her.

If you "The Provider" can still do what you have been doing for as long as you have.....Then keep doing it until you pass away.

Was a regular of mine until she retired at about age 55.  She was still very, very attractive but got tired of the game and started only seeing regulars for her last couple of years and her business fell off the cliff.  For years she was a VERY well respected escort in my hometown and toured a couple of times a year and did quite well.

When she retried she had very little money and Social Security was still quite a while away.  After a few months she had to sell her house and move to southern Florida to live with various family members and had a very difficult time finding even minimum wage employment due to her age and lack of verifiable employment history, even though she had a sham business as a front (masseuse) and a CPA to cover her tracks.  Hell, she even had a couple of LEOs as clients who would do background checks on clients from time to time and make really good referrals for her.

This was a gal who had a very successful, and long, career in escorting, but could never get her mind around the fact that the party would eventually end.  What made it even worse was she was super intelligent and if she would have hung it up at about age 40 she could have retired from the biz and had a decent career doing something else.

She had a lot of game, and had her business as an escort wired very tight.  Unfortunately she led a very undisciplined life when it came time to saving for the future.

Sad commentary on what can happen to even the best of them.

Yep.. a sad story.  And consistent with both ladies I knew.  I suspect there may be other issues (I know for a fact both ladies I knew suffered from Bipolar Disorder.. which frequently includes Obsessive Compulsive behavior.  Both ladies spent money as fast as they earned it on crazy stuff they didn’t need… they had (still have) no concept of discipline or saving money.  Very sad.  And hard to feel sorry for them when they resort to becoming con artists.
